I would prefer not to be beholden to it but it seems that we are very likely if we wish to trade with Europe, to experience issues with this. Counterpoint is that we also comply with (for example) US rules for imports and their decisions in order to export to the US.
The ECJ isn't purely commercial there are also legitimate concerns about family law for example.
In saying that it's a golden opportunity to reform our family jurisprudence which currently is frankly a fucking mess.
