Yeah:

"Ghost in the Shell" (1995)
"Neon Genesi Evangelion"+"End of Evangelion"
"Serial Experiments Lain"
"Texhnolyze"
"Angel's Egg"
"Paranoia Agent"

all affected me immensely and made me think about a lot of things.

Pretty much a pleb when it comes to anime, but those top three are among my favorites that I've seen. I just finished watching Steins;Gate and am in the mood for another thought-provoking roller coaster ride, so will check out the last three you listed.

I hope you do not imply Psycho-pass changed you or made you see nivarna. Anyway, Ping Pong the animation.

Something about Makishima's worldview really affected me. Do I really follow my will? Do I even have one? He really resonated as a christ-figure, his willingness to die so as to impart understanding and change in Kogami/the world seems so admirable...I don't think I have ever believed in anything by comparison.

It was definitely the most intellectual animu I've encountered.

I'd go gay for Shogo in a heartbeat.

Jackson Ross
Jackson Ross

Ippo and other sports anime inspired me to get /fit/. Besides that not really any specific anime, but I'd say anime as a whole changed me a bit

Jaxon Lopez
Jaxon Lopez

Not really. I don't think any piece of art has done that. It might have influenced my views on the medium, art or my aesthetic preferences specifically but not on anything more fundamental than that.

No, that'd be ridiculous.

I'm guessing you're the cringeworthy retard who was referencing Psycho Pass in this thread.

Admittedly my lazy typing had me walk into that.

I feel that Jojo's Bizarre Adventure changed me for the better. At first it was only slight changes, such as styling my hair differently and expressing what I say with more exaggerated emotion, however, as time went on I began acting even more differently my fashion choices changed and I began wearing more colourful and elaborate clothing which made me stand out from the norm. I became more muscular and my cheekbones became more defined. I began to wear lipstick and eyeliner. I began to pose more frequently, especially in scenarios which didn't call for it.
People questioned me on why I was acting differently but I'd just respond with 'Yare yare daze'. They didn't understand. How could they understand? Before I knew it, I'd become one with Araki's masterpiece. I changed my first and last names to begin with 'Jo' and I am currently working on learning the ways of hamon and summoning my stand.

Mason Bell

Eva and NHK made me accept reality and that I'm a loser.
Life sucks and I will never be happy but that's fine.

Kill yourself.
Quoting famous novels and asking dumb questions doesn't make a show intellectual.

As a teenager, "yotsubaki milk tea" changed a lot of things in my sexualité (not gay)

Then "paranoïa agent" helped me going through my first severe post break up depression and becoming more motivated about what I'm doing.

Steins;Gate
thought-provoking

Mid lel. It's really just another "time travelling sucks man" story. Even Phil of the Future is more thought-provoking than Steins;Gate. The other SciAdv stories make you think more than S;G, in all honesty. That's not to say that S;G was not good, because it certainly was very entertaining.

Mason King

Makishima was literally just another villain, but here's the twist: he read books.

Fucking wow.

Aria reminded me that I need to relax more and made me see life in a brighter way.
Also this may sound weird but B Gata H Key changed my mind about sex, made me think that it's actually a normal thing and took me off /r9k/, I have to say that it really helped and it's still helping me in my social recovery

It's ok if you don't get it user, but that doesn't mean you have to undermine the work. Look at this retard for example..

.Makishima was literally just another villain,
Literally the entire premise of the show is morality... Makishima's lack of a Psycho Pass, the fact that his intentions are noble, the fact that the 'law' uses the same methods he does, his conception of personal integrity...all of these things are meant to explore right and wrong, they offer meaningful foils that allow the viewer to question the very nature of ethics by offering up Kogami and Makishima as this dystopian dichotomy (even their appearances are inverted, their key dialogue is mirrored throughout the show). In any sensible person it would evoke some introspection, or at least an appreciation for the craftsmanship involved. But no, he kills people, he's a bad guy, hurr durrr.

Ryder Reyes

Most people I've discussed it with didn't even realize Shogo was a Christ-figure, despite them putting that fucking parable of the sower just before his death. You can't expect weeaboo faggots to understand anything but the extremely obvious, and fan service.

This, except Welcome to the NHK made me realize that I'm not a loser at all because I actually have prospects and work hard rather than just giving up on life and leeching. I've always loved cartoons and literature. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I found out that there's a huge country full of people who read comics and like seeing them animated.

The Aria manga taught me how to be happier through mindset.

Also, but through negative example, Aria also influenced the way I prioritized things in my life. I focus more strongly on structuring my life such that I avoid doing anything I don't enjoy doing.

Watched pic related when I was at a crossroads in my life especially related to college. I had very similar feelings to the protagonist about wanting to restart my life and go through life differently.

The show made me feel a lot less depressed about life and I'm going to nursing school this fall in part because of it.

Austin Kelly

Dominic Sanders

That's your ideal situation. Your reality is closer to tiny ship in shit part of the world or country. And there's almost no winning for homeports.

Think of the Navy as a really average girl. And think of yourself as somebody who can do better. But shes into pegging and you kind of want to try it, and in return, you get to do whatever you want to her.

The Navy is going to fuck you. Fuck you long and fuck you hard. It's just up to you to fuck it back when given the chance.

I'm not sure anything ever changed philosophically, but I really love corny fuck POWER OF FRIENDSHIP/LOVE and stuff about driving forward to always improve and to not mope around.

Any time I'm feeling down, a good episode or two of corny hot blooded anime/tearjerker positivity will get me back on my feet.
