So we're all agreed that Rebellion ruined the Madoka series?
So we're all agreed that Rebellion ruined the Madoka series?
I still haven't watched it. Should I?
I dunno, I haven't bothered to watch it. Madoka ended on a high note, everything else is just fanfiction.
I just ignore it in canon
I liked it.
No, the ending of the show was perfect, this shits all over it and the ride isn't even fun
Yes. Series isn't complete without it. People who hate it are the same peoplr who hate End of Evangelion
It is harmless, fun fanservice.
Anyone saying otherwise is a dedicated troll or severely autistic. I don't know which is worse.
Rebellion is a masterpiece, you shitlord.
I hated it at first. It had the lowest rating of anything on my MAL, but after letting it sink in for a few months I decided I kinda liked it. I listen to the soundtrack a lot. Haven't rewatched it yet.
Series isn't complete without it
the original ending was perfect
except it isn't, it ruins the original ending
I actually love this movie. I don't like movies in general, but this one is (at least for me) the best I've ever watched. It showed a sick love, and I love that.
The ending in Rebellion is that Homura's action renders Madoka's sacrifice and message of hope meaningless. The ending from the anime series and the previous film loses its impact
Stop viewing it in a vacuum
I don't like movies in general
You realize anime are just series of short movies, right? They're not different mediums. The only reason I could see for liking movies and not liking TV series is if you either have absolutely shit taste or ADHD and can't sit down for more than 20 mins at a time.
I said it was a sick love because of that, precisely. She made Madoka's sacrifice a vain act because she loved her insanely. I found that beautiful.
I don't like the format. for each 100 animes I watch, I just watch 1 movie. It's not that I dislike movies, I just don't feel comfortable with the format.
I like it but I regard it as not canon, for my sanity
Good times. Good times.
So in the new universe do Magical Girls even still exist?
Writer Gen Urobuchi stated in the planning stages of Rebellion his idea was to end the film with Homura being taken away with Madoka to the Heavens. “I thought the story would end this time for real!” he laughs. However, the producer and director insisted the story should continue, leaving Urobuchi with little choice. “I really feel that Madoka doesn’t just belong to me anymore” Urobuchi says. It was the director who suggested the upcoming twist.
The whole film was just to setup a sequel
It was a blatant extension of the series, but that doesn't mean it was bad. I still expect the announced sequel to end just like the manga with Madoka and Homura entering godhood together.
Literally the pinnacle of the series.
Rebellion was fucking brilliant. Fuck these typical happy endings.
MC sacrifices herself and everthing is fixed and fine
Fuck that. Homura didn't accept the sacrifice of her friend and re-shaped reality. The twist unspoiled was fucking amazing.
She put herself in Madokas position, without ceasing to exist as an individual, while fucking up the incubators
Rebellions ending was perfect and I hope another movie will never come. But of course it will and it will ruin everything like the FF7 remake.
it's not as good as Disappearance
but it's not as bad as Rebuild 3,0
take that as you will
The universe was unstable and familiars were back. There wasn't anything "perfect" about it, but it was preferable to the series ending.
Forgot to add.
And it isn't everything perfectly solved. Homura made her friends happy by force...kinda like the Sybil system from psycho-pass, so it's not your typical happy ending.
Fuck this black and white shit
Like my addition that's my point. This and Homura manipulating them taints the super happy ending.
Another good example is the psycho-pass S1 ending. It's kinda happy....but not totally
It's not a happy ending, it's a bad ending with lots of shit unresolved and questions unanswered leaving it a mess
Homucifer re-writes laws and fucks up the incubators
She manipulates her friends and forces them to be happy
So everyone gets what they want, although the methods are....very questionable. And I never said it was plain happy.
It's just """"""""kinda""""""""""""" happy, exactly like the ending of psycho-pass 1, which makes it superior to all these fucking clean cut happy endings without nuance
It's like you missed the first 90 minutes of the movie
It's made clear what Homura has done is BAD and not true happiness
Not a happy ending
It's not supposed to be. It's supposed to be ambiguous and open to a sequel.
Sup Forums doesn't agree one shit, quit saying it does newfag
Everyone except her and Madoka are happy. Mami and Kyouko are barely affected by this. Sayaka, as much as she doesn't want to admit it, is obviously very happy with Kyouko, as is Nagisa.
We agree that it purged most of idiots from its fanbase, i.e. you.
But Homura's only rule is "don't fuck with Madoka". The other girls are happy, there's just an underlying feeling of unease because things are definitely not right.
Except the amount of idiocy brought in by AC-kun more than made up for whatever was lost.
I loved Rebellion but yeah, it initiated the sequel train and that should be criticized.
Except you're ignoring the first 90 minutes of the movie
being a mad shiteating fanboy
That's the whole point.
What part of "happiness but through controversial means" are you not getting?
It's NOT happiness in any form
It made it unnecessary.
Homura is literally powerful enough to warp reality across the entire universe.
Rebellion is literally the best part.
happiness isn't real, if it isn't real
Fuck that. It's a fucking emotion. Lies can make someone happy. We do that all the time.
Happiness can come through illusions and it does on a daily basis basically everywhere. Take fucking religions for example
lies can make someone happy
Most people are lying to themselves to maintain their calm/happiness on some level.
They're ignoring harsh truths that would disrupt the normalcy of their lives, making it difficult to focus, persevere in the mundane and maintain order.
DID YOU MISS THE FIRST 90 MINUTES OF THE MOVIE
Take fucking religions for example
I've seen it multiple times.
I still think Homu's world is a vast improvement over what would happen if she hadn't acted and let the incubators continue on.
You must have missed the part where it was all a trap by the incubators to figure out and disrupt what Madoka was doing.
You're a fucking autist that can't understand media
I feel like there's a certain level of irony here.
You're a funny little guy tho.
and you missed the part where the illusion world was considered bad
fuck fucking religions happiness is a lie freedom fucking is a myth
Stop being a pissbaby. If you enjoyed the rest of the series then ignore it.
I thought it was some overcomplicated nonsense but it was visually stunning.
My point was that they make people happy, despite not everyone being able to be real, since they contradict each other ala "If X is real, Y isn't", but still both are happy based on the belief of theirs being real.
But hey. I used religion so fuck any context...
Considered bad by 'who' exactly?
Only because Homura is a self-hating autist, dumb-dumb
Pay more attention to Sayaka-chan's wisdoms
Best part of the series IMO. Not even trolling
Not even DB was milked this hard.
Nope. The series was ruined before Rebellion.
it initiated the sequel train
Yeah Madoka s3 was my favorite one
The movie was fun, and even if it was silly it doesn't make the TV show any worse by existing.
Thank you two guys for exist in this world.
Mami: I've always wanted a world like this
Sayaka: Is someone who would wish for this really that bad?
Madoka: I'd never want to leave you or my family or friends
The 90 minutes spent screaming at Homura that she should do this?
it's the evangelion 3.33 of madoka
it's a meguca thread
there's basically no shitposting in it
Watch the other two movies first.
No, Rebellion is coherent and not the worst thing I've ever seen in my life.
It is harmless
Rebellion is coherent
Hahahahaah ... wait. You are serious?
