I've honestly come across only a few bugs, the bitching at the steam forums etc. are wildly overstated as usual. Most are just minor annoyances (one questgiver didn't give money as reward when he was supposed to) and only one was proper bullshit (haggler skill lowers prices, but it also made flamethrower fuel disappear because the original price was already 1c and the game rounds fractional prices down).
It has some of the best exploration in an RPG in a long, long time but it's also brutally hard early on - if you haven't played Piranha Bytes' games before, that may come as a bit of a shock.

Unmodded New Vegas is piss easy compared to Elex. Early on, you can only wield the shittiest weapons (which are everything when it comes to dealing damage, your stats only affect what you can wield) and have no armor (even a few points of armor makes a big difference), so it's pretty much akin to having a level 1 courier in starter gear going against the deathclaws.
It's just a bunch of stupid kids that don't pay attention to the real world.
