How does this stance even have any advantage?

how does this stance even have any advantage?
i thought the author of this series knew about boxing

Silly nigger, don't you read Baki?

It's the ultimate stance.

The main character, who has been boxing for like a decade and made 9 or 10 successful Japanese title defenses, is currently reading about boxing basics because he does not know how to handle a southpaw.

This series fucking sucks and was never good to begin with.

Author only knows about yamato damashii and oxygen in your muscles.

what the fuck is wrong with those muscles

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and assume that stance is supposed to provoke the opponent. By purposely opening himself up, he can convince his opponent to attack him and then follow up with... something.

never seen Rocky? this stance gives you the ability to absorb unlimited amounts of jabs.

nhaa it wasn't always shit, it was good for around 400 chapters, after the first title defence the author started milking the shit out of the manga and started creating bullshit characters (the jumping monkey, the magician who can damage you by slapping you with the glove, the 5'5'' guy who has the muscles of a body builder but can still be a fetherweight, the ''i kick people in the head and the referee doesn't notice since he's a fucking retard'', the "he would've been champion if x wasn't there", mr invincible mexican, mr "my punches are the weakest ever but i can still ko a guy with 4 hits and break both my hands and approach sound barrier with a punch while all of my ribs are shattered, gonzo etc..) and futile plot devices like "ippo r u broken" for 16 chapters straight then come to the conclusion that ippo in unbreakable.

>'i kick people in the head and the referee doesn't notice since he's a fucking retard'
When did this happen? I don't remember anything like that.

The fuck did you just say?

this. people don't try to think for themselves.

...

Someone post the pac-man stance.

ultimate manly man calling.

>also he fist fought a bear once

How much does Takamura weigh if he has to basically kill himself so often to make weight?

according to wiki:
he is 6'1" and in a middleweight class

so he basically has to reach 154(max for junior middle) to 160(max for regular middleweight).

seeing how hes super ripped, it probably is a few pounds off from reality. but he looks almost 190-200 normal and when he cuts he goes down to 175-180.

in the show he probably cuts from 167-171 down to fighting weight.

>even still

Hajime No Ippo is GOAT.
Takamura for life.

Imagine a guy having such an open stance despite previously thinking you're fucking him up

Would really rile you up, huh? Maybe even tempt you into doing something stupid?

That's a genuine stance.

As some people already guessed it is about provocation and reacting more easily by knowing what the opponent is likely to do. It is surprisingly good at putting pressure on the opponent.

Just look for open guards fighters. It is rare, it can be dangerous and probably end poorly, but it is not made up by the author.

New season when? Wasn't the last season back in 2013?

Only watch for Takamura.

well, get ready for countless title defences that are won in the 12th round with a lucky punch

jesus christ learn anatomy already !

no it isnt
