Homura

So in Rebellion: Homura is supposed to represent Lucifer, right? Once she was on her death bed to be taken to Heaven by God (Madoka), she ripped God apart in her hubris and now she has to compete with the larval form of God (Man). Am I understanding the analogy correctly here? Did Homura do nuffin or did she fuck up?

No. Lucifer rebelled out of pride, Homu rebelled out of love. Everything she does is for Madoka.

I dunno, she seemed pretty smug and proud when she finally grabbed Madoka and tore her in two...

The pride is a byproduct of the love

Madoka's whole theme is more Faust related, so Mephistopheles would be a better comparison.

Damn pretender

But still, she was very proud when she ripped Madoka from God-Madoka. She achieved her goal of tearing God down from Heaven, and bringing Him (Her) to the plane of the mortals. Now she is existing with a child form of God, thinking she is equal to the higher being. When Madoka almost awakened again, Homura (Lucifer, in this analogy) panicked and almost lost her shit.

It's not true love

> post yfw Homura grabbing Madoka

The main motivation is love, though. Lucifer didn't rebel because he wanted to help God.

Who are you to decide

>The main motivation is love, though.
I'll quote the second half of your post then:
Who are you to decide Homura's motivation for bringing down God to the mortal plane?

Well she said it
Seems pretty clear to me

Why is Homura so mean to Kyuubei

He's a douche

>Did Homura do nuffin or did she fuck up?
There's a reason this became a meme. Ignore homufags and yurifags.

Homura's pride is a farce. For exactly once in her life, she's finally accomplished the goal she set out to do, but it has left her filled with self-loathing and guilt.

No. Christianity isn't dualistic. Lucifer couldn't drag God down any more than a bacteria could drag down a neutron star.

...

>Lucifer couldn't drag God down any more than a bacteria could drag down a neutron star.
That's my point though. Lucifer thought he could overthrow God. In his hubris he got fucking rekt. Once the fags behind Madoka finish their gay Godzilla movie, I'm assuming we will find Homura being utterly defeated by God (Madoka), and kindly laid to rest.

Well, isn't the world a better place after what she did? Everyone is alive and well, QB is fucked, and as she is now the evil that necessarily needs to exist, even evil itself is under control now.

The movie heavily implied they had EQUAL power to because they were bound together by homu's wish, which is not the same thing.

Better but it's not right until Homu is happy

>There's a reason this became a meme.
Because there are people who are too stupid to understand a fucking anime movie? She literally did nothing wrong, and in fact suffers the most in the utopia she created so that the others can be happy.

Not really, the movie heavily implied that Homura (Lucifer in my analogy) had equal power to the child-form, the larval form, of God (real Madoka). This is where my analogy comes together. God was challenged by Lucifer, and thus; He granted Lucifer a whole plane of existence to try and overthrow even the most basic form of Him.

You are reading 20x more into this than anyone ever intended for the movie.

God cannot be challenged by Lucifer in any meaningful way by definition, it's what he lets him do because he feels like it.

Feels way off to me. Maybe with the Shinto Bhuddism-filter Japanese usually have it might be Lucifer.

So that five people can be happy while the rest of the world burns, you mean. Damn the usurper.

>the rest of the world burns
Nice fanfiction.
