If there's one thing I miss is memory cards. Less so the cards themselves, but instead the little personalities that the blocks of games had; the icons which expressed a tiny part of the games.
MGS3 had the best one with the Patriot with some flowers next to it.
Easton Russell
I liked the fact that the flowers changed colors depending on which playthrough you were on.
Michael Butler
Really? I didn't know that.

You can always go back. All your saves are there OP.
Eli Howard
you tried.

I like the PS2 ones, but they're very inconsistent. Some are 3D models, some are just cubes with the game logo slapped on it. Triggers my autism a bit, I like the PS1 favicon-ish animated icons.
Gabriel Jenkins
not an argument.

3DS still have somewhat personality by having a launch icon and theme. But still, if you ever played an RPG Maker on PS1 or PS2 you're glad 2mb memory cards are gone.

Were memory cards the first instance of solid state drives?

If your game didn't play an animation when you went to delete a save, it was a shit game.
Caleb Young
Devil May Cry games had characters get sad when you tried to delete them.
