The game isn't really good. It's only saving grace is its uniqueness and niche gameplay. It's inferior to its predecessor in every way.

Face it, no one, anywhere, uses the full scale. 1/10 - 5/10 is a fucking failure. 6/10 is close to failing, but passable. 7/10 is average, 8/10 is good, 9/10 is great, and 10/10 is near flawless.

No where in the world is a 4/10 considered good, average, or even slightly mediocre. It's considered downright bad.

I never see the appeal in these games. Only a few of the Colossi were even fun in SoTC otherwise it was just stupid overly cinematic shit. A game is cinematic where it's painful as fuck the gameplay is bridled, subdued, all to favor a movielike feeling, to never really seriously try to stop the flow of the presentation. Uncharted is cinematic, God of War also is, FFXIII is totally cinematic, SOTC is not because the gameplay or rather the level design gets in the way and makes for a very repetitive presentation. If it was cinematic it'd be the equivalent of watching reruns.

The shit doesn't hold your hand, you often have to follow the boss around, you don't get to have your way to the weak spot immediately, and even if you do you have to repeat because the grip needed is tweaked to force you to repeat the action multiple times.

Well, I haven't. But a 50 foot building is a 5 story building and dropping 50 feet would either kill you or break both your ankles / legs. You wouldn't walk away from a 50 foot drop, especially at 10. It isn't realistic.
