We will never have a handheld generation as great as these two

Replace that thing on the left with the superior DS

underaged fagg0t

...

>Nintendogs

No thanks.

GBA SP is the best comfortably pocketable system ever

Almost all of those are crap.

>can play the whole GBA and DS libraries
And why wouldn't you swap it out with the DS?

Feels really bad.

No idea how anyone can choose mobile gaming after the multiple fantastic eras of handheld gaming

Sims Busting Out

An Isometric game with tons of RPG elements, it blew my mind on how good the game was and I just took it as shovelware when an aunt bought it for me, I was so damn wrong.

I can't recommend it enough it captures tons of
emotion and feelings that the orignal Sims convayed before EA fucked everything up. The Urbz and Sims 2 are good to but a lot of you need to give this comfy ass game a chance.

>No Medievil Resurrection
small ree

I had more playtime on my PSP and DS than on PS360 and wii.
this gen for handheld and almost everything have been really shitty

>Almost all
Nah. It goes overboard, but there are many good games there.

>Both the DS and PSP came out at the exact same time
>Claims that a newer version of a handheld that's many years older is in the same generation.

I love my PSP and still and enjoy and play it to this day.

I just wish there was a way to replace the screen with a glass screen like many modders do with the OG GBA.

Ds library sucks. No one wants your meme rpg/vn shit.

>There will never be a PSP 2
To be fair I didn't buy a VITA but I didn't feel paying extra for shitty touch interfaces I didn't want and the library wasn't as good as the PSPs, although Disgaea 3 & 4 on the go is making me consider getting one secondhand.

The PSP had some right ideas (PSN connectivity, digital PS1 games, TV-out) and some of the best games EVER on any platform, but it failed because of critical design choices like only one analog stick, proprietery memory cards and the terrible UMAD format, and because portable hardware just wasn't quite powerful enough at the time. Vita had the right hardware but "the time" had already passed.

Also, while I said it had some of the best games ever, it simultaneously suffered from many developers trying to squeeze fast-paced, AAA audio-visual experiences out of it, instead of focusing on more humble games that would have fit the portable format better.

>meme rpg/vn shit
This is the PSP's library though.

I prefered GBA Urbz better desu.

I ended up getting the real game thinking it would be similar.

Jesus fuck I was disappointed.
How the fuck do you make a better game than the main entry on something that's supposed to be essentially a throwaway?

Roxie is best Urbzfu

the PSP did not fail though lol, it's outsold the 3DS by 40 million units

PSP has some great Western normy games

It was a GTA/god of war machine for me for years
>Mfw they ignored this entirely on the Vita
Fuck Sony so hard here. Even MGS.
>Demo MGS 4 running on Vita
>JK lol just have MGS 1&2 HD. And no HD peace Walker LMAO.
>New god of war? Just HD ports of the oldest ones. No HD ports of the PSP ones silly LOL
>No new GTA either LMAO yes the PSP had three but the Vita has zero why is that surprising?

DS urbz was my fucking jam

>wanting less games
Fags.

>tfw my PSP was my gateway to porn as a horny 12 year old kid
>tfw my neighbor finally secured his WiFi a year later

Internet porn spoiled me, do you know how hard it was to go back to that softcore bullshit that showtime, HBO, and Starz played on their on Demand channels? It was terrible.

>love handhelds
>can never find one I actually enjoy
Have a GBA but no games because I only ever enjoyed Pokemon, never got a DS because none of the games looked interesting. Always wanted a PSP, I was so excited for the Vita but then it had no games.

I just want to sit in bed and play games.

Get a PSP 3000 or PSP GO, throw some CFW on it and enjoy NES, GB, GBC, GBA, Sega Master System and Sega Genesis emulation that's actually bretty good as well as having the entire PS1 and PSP library in your hands

>do you know how hard it was to go back to that softcore bullshit that showtime, HBO, and Starz played on their on Demand channels

Lucky you.
My parents didn't really see the need to get internet (until like 2009). We had it periodically sometimes, but mostly them AOL trials heh

Through horny desperation I looked all over the house for some fap material.
Found a couple of old VHS tapes.
Found the porn stash.

It was a bunch of porn from like the 70s and 80s. Debbie Does Dallas and shit like that. Just recorded onto like 3 tapes back to back.
Then I kept finding tons more, hidden away in the house.
More VHS's, 2 years subscription to Playboy (like 1983 or something).

It's all I had to work with.
>tfw now 80s girls get me going more than present day girls

It's not bad, but still.

I remember once before I found all that, I paused Star Wars Episode 2 on a scene in the spaceship on tattoine where you could see Padme's Nips (or at least I thought), fapped to that to like a week

Sorry for the blog post though, I was getting nostalgic.

That Star Wars thing reminds me, I had a portable DVD player (actually cool as fuck for its time) when I was younger so I'd watch movies late at night in my room. I got a box set of the Alien movies along with it. Couldn't say exactly how many times I jerked it to Sigourney Weaver in her underwear, but it was a lot.

The PSP had GTA games because it was easy to take the engine they were using for the PS2 GTA games and just reduce the poly count. I don't think the Vita could run a game like GTA4 even with a lot of modification. This means they would need to make a new engine specifically for the Vita which probably makes it not very profitable.

Same but with Christmas Vacation

The PSP didn't compete against the 3DS so that's a meaningless stat. The PSP competed against the DS.

Sony could have saved the vita at ANY TIME by just putting out more PS2 ports. It ran MGS2/3 HD, Daxter, and FFX HD fine, I guarantee if they put out some of the PS2's heavy hitters like the GTA trillogy, Kingdom Hearts 1+2, Resi 4, Battlefront 2, NFS Underground 2, they'd be printing money.

What's it like playing the various SNES ports on GBA?
Do they suffer for the lack of buttons?
Do they suffer for the lower resolution?
Or do you not really notice either of those things?

But half of the best games on GBA are JRPGs. I agree that DS is inferior though.

The only one I've played that comes to mind is A Link to the Past's port, which is great. My only gripe is the added vocal effects when you attack. You get used to it quickly, but it's still pointless.

>What's it like playing the various SNES ports on GBA?
I'm playing DKC3, it's fun, and I have played the final fantasy and zelduh games.
>Do they suffer for the lack of buttons?
You don't really notice it, like in dkc3 you need to press down+R to drink water, but the final fantasy games were just remapped slightly
>Do they suffer for the lower resolution?
SNES was 256x224, GBA is 240x160. The games aren't direct ports, the graphics are slightly better on gba, some levels were modified for the screen too

>tfw battle network wasn't as big as pokemon

it was just me and my brother battling eachother. I want another one damn it

>people trying to shit post that the GBA was better than the DS

Gameboy Micro is even better in that regard
Still like my SP more tho

too small

GBA wasn't very good. Fewer worthwile games for it than og gameboy and thr DS blew both out of the water by having great rpgs and a wider variety of games.

Motherfucking SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2

It had a multiplayer like no other, sunk tons of hours in "quicksniping", a community made game played on one map "cross". I was in a pretty hardcore clan and there was a pretty big ladder maintained for that game.

/endblog

The hell is that on the left? My last nintendo was "advance" or whatever.

The advanced sp. it had charging and light

if you didn't have a gameboy color and pokemon red, blue, green, or yellow you are an underage faggot and should properly kys

>had a teal gbc with pokemon red
>koolaidman,jpg

Fully modded Vita is PSP2, though.

Holy shit that psp on the right is fucking cool

This.

I waited until the New 3DS to buy one. Been playing Majora's Mask and the DS Castlevanias and having fun.

I had the big grey gameboy, and later a gameboy pocket. I used to play mario land 1/2 start to finish in lunchbreaks. I played my gameboy well past everyone else giving up, and was hyped when pokemon was announced since it meant people would be using them again.

psp was closer to a ps1 than a ps2 spec wise, and yet rockstar still managed to get their engine running on it. Vita is actually closer to ps3 power than psp was to ps2, so there's no technical reason why they couldn't have done it, or just made a GTA using some other middleware.

It's just that at some point a bunch of rockstar execs sat down and decided that making handheld games wasn't worth it anymore. They just ported their old GTA games to android/iOS

>We will never have a handheld generation as great as these two
We could, with how much potential the Switch has, if Sony would stop cucking the Vita by no longer touching it and giving all of its services to the PS4.

Nintendo is showing a lot of promising things with the Switch, more than they ever have with one of their new consoles, in a long time. It would still help for them to have some competition in the handheld market because I really doubt they'll be competing directly with the PS4.

Shame they're killing support for it and PS3 already. They're really wanting to push people onto the PS4 and PS+.

If Sony would get more shit on the Vita with cross-buy, they could compete against the Switch in a reall positive way.

I really don't understand why they've dropped support for it. It's not like they don't have the money or that it's unable to be saved.

Dragonball GT Transformation was a good beat'emup and I really liked Buu's Fury.

DS had my motherfucking GTA Chinatown Wars.

>proprietery memory cards

r u fuckin stupid m9

You're thinking of the Vita there.

Buus Fury is that Gem..

How is peace walker? Been thinking of getting it for my vita
