vanilla is fine some mods enhence the expierience but most are cosmetic go for JSawyer and basicly you will be fine
play hardcore only

NVSE, NVAC, NVSR, NV4GB, YUP, JSawyer, DarNified UI

>vanilla is fine
No it's not, vanilla is dogshit.

>so my game doesn't break halfway through
to enjoy most mods you gotta be awere of the game mechanics, with jsawyer vanilla is fun enough and doesn't crash

Everything here except JSawyer and DarNified UI

DarNified looks like shit and JSawyer ruins the game

4GB patch
NMC's texture pack
NVInteriors Project
MTUI
FOOK
Populated Casinos
Populated Wasteland
Spice of Life

>JSawyer ruins the game
How? I've been having fun with it.

>JSawyer ruins the game

Hoarder who can't manage equipment detected.

It face fucks the balance and makes all kinds of changes that I myself wouldn't recommend

ESPECIALLY for someone who just got the game, because then they'll have no idea what's been changed

>DarNified looks like shit

Absolutely correct.

>JSawyer ruins the game

Completely fucking wrong.

The only things that are noticeable are:
>decreased XP rewards for most things
>lower carry weight
>less stimpacks

All of which are a welcome addition. I'm currently in Vault 22 sitting at 10HP because I have no items left to heal with. I've also enjoyed actually thinking about what items to take with me, rather than taking everything I come across. It's fun.

So how are you enjoying not being able to buy anything?

>not being able to buy anything

Put points in Barter you prancing la-la homo man. It's there for a reason

Oh man, this weapon mod is 100 caps cheaper now! Now I just need to scrounge up another 2000 caps without selling anything because I have no fucking carry weight

And don't even THINK about doing a survival run

nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/61592/?

JSawyer Ultimate is better in pretty much every way

I've got about 1600 caps. I can't make it onto the Strip yet, and that's fine. The barter skill is actually worth something, so that's nice. I buy ammo from caravans I meet along the road. I was lucky enough to get a varmint rifle silencer early on. I didn't have the 50 caps for the scope, that was a bummer. I plan to stock up on stimpacks, food, and shotgun ammo because I'm 100% out of that.

All I have is 10HP, scoped 9mm, and Veronica (without free HP regen after fights so I need stimpacks for her too) and I'm having fun this way.

In contrast, my last playthrough I had way too many caps and nothing I wanted to buy. I don't like buying overpowered weapons when a scoped hunting rifle can already one-shot a humanoid enemy while sneaking.

I think the "more perks" and "perk every level" mods make the game more fun, but that's just me

>no fucking carry weight
It's enough to carry a bunch of guns on you unless you're carrying a minigun around. Also use your goddamn companions, you get ED-E early. I managed to swim in caps when playing a 1 STR twinky faggot.

>And don't even THINK about doing a survival run
It's not like the game is difficult, no matter what you go for. And putting points in survival gives you access to plentifl healing items so I don't see what your point is.

>Companions being almost a requirement
Fuck that
>And putting points in survival gives you access to plentifl healing items so I don't see what your point is.
doesn't matter, you have no carry weight to hold that much

You seem to vastly overestimate how much stuff weights. Even 60lbs is enough for a sizable kit of healing items, light armour, a weapon and you can loot ammo for cash, as it's always fairly light. If that's not enough for your hoarder ass, get smart and either establish bases to keep extra equipment at or simply stop picking everyting up just because a prompt appears.

What UI mod would you recommend?

nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62108/?

In my current run, my food alone weighs over 100 pounds

You don't need all these YumYum Delivery Eggs and other shit that gives you 6HP and weights 1lbs, user

>Avellone was always the one who hated what New Vegas had become
>created Dead Money specifically to make people suffer just to get a single stimpack
>Sawyer was always the one who thought New Vegas was fine and that destroying the NCR in some way because "it's not muh Mad Max wasteland anymore!" was incredibly stupid
>the end of Lonesome Road is literally the player channeling Sawyer to argue against Avellone in the form of Ulysses about why the NCR shouldn't get turned into burnt shadows on the ground just because

>Sawyer then makes a popular mod where you have to suffer to get a single stimpack

Does new vegas have known issues with AMD Crossfire?

I've gotten crashes with crossfire running with it.

not him but I'd recommend this
nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34971/?

Make sure to combine the update with the main file, the "lowres" textures are indistinguishable from the regular textures

>You don't need to fight, user
fuck off, during a fight early on you're going to need at least 9 different food items to survive

Sawyer is obsessed with balance and thought the game as it was shipped was too easy

>Crossfire
you ALWAYS turn that shit off for older games

the legendary Bloat Fly fried me in seconds

He's actually absolutely right.

Is 2011 an older game now?

if you're updating your vidya drivers, yes

>so my game doesn't break halfway through
none

He wasn't wrong though

>reach Freeside and the game treats forking 2k caps as some amazing richbags challange
>I'm swimming in like 20k by that point

Here's the pastebin I save for just this occasion:

pastebin.com/RK44ace6

And now I'll dump some screenshots.

Makes you OP, take for example fallout 4

>And now I'll dump some screenshots.
More like that? Please fucking no

>so my game doesn't break halfway through?
Hahahaha

I don't know if you're joking or what. What kind of fights are you taking? Are you running at geckos trying to melee them?

>Avellone was always the one who hated what New Vegas had become

How so?

Not trying, am.
Being an ugga-bunga is fun even though Obsidian put little effort into low intelligence dialogue

God damn, why has nobody made a mod that puts the number of polygons in the eight rock models into the double digits? 80% of the game is made of those things stacked on top of each other.

Trying to play vanilla and can't go more than 30 minutes without a non recoverable videocard crash.

This one is really important

This mod can cause some minor hanging when opening menus, actually.

>CCO - Classic Perks
can't find this anywhere

Why do people include file names but not actual mod names? I am never going to find this unless I'm told the mod's actual name

I had enough caps to get into Vegas by the time I got there just by selling caps and that was playing with JSawyer Ultimate and reduced economy.

Not to mention that once you get into the Strip itself you can still wipe the casinos clean and have more caps than you know what to do with for the rest of the game.

What did you guys do with Tom Anderson?

Only with the default textures, which is why I said to combine the update with it, no hang time at all

PSA: There's an alternative for JSawyer which does essentially same stuff, but has MCM configuration and is mostly scripted to be more compatible with other shit:
nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/61592/?
Try NVAC (requires NVSE):
nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/53635/?

None for what you're asking since others here have given you good stuff, but I can recommend Project Nevada if you want your game to feel more like a shooter. Comes with a grenade/mine/throwable melee hotkey.

Literally the first search result in this case

Is there a big difference with this and MTUI?

Is it worth buying the complete edition?
Do the mods still work and/or are they still recommended?
Thanks

Is it me, or is Sawyer kinda reminding me of John K?

Honestly Power Armors look better in New Vegas than in F4.

I thought it was a separate perk mod, not part of an overhaul

It fucking sucks, honestly. There'a a lot of LOD replacements for the rocks, but I don't think there's new meshes.

You can probably use either, but MTUI+ is more recent and actually being supported by the author.

>outsidebets
Holy shit all this STUFF that was cut for absolutely no reason

What the fuck was Obsidian thinking?
And it's not like they did it to save space or anything, because this was all still in the game files

Are you running an ENB or something, the colour there seem a bit more lively that what is for me.

derp, I meant VUI+ ofc

Because a lot of it wasn't finished and didn't work properly. And consoles. Always consoles.

I've never really bothered with rat pack and the heavyweight perk, but man Jswayer's and hardcore has brought me an appreciation for them, still allows me to horde shit to an extent.

Not a popular choice, but I leave bloom on. I don't think it affects anything outdoors, but when I go inside, I can tell the difference.

Animation Project is good if you want to have animated chems, and sprinting animations:
youtu.be/nKOE5i3v7rk

This is all good, except you don't really want JSawyer on your first playthrough.

>DarNified looks like shit
Literally kill yourself.

I just hate how Pack Rat needs 70 Barter.

Don't complain about the game being hard if you're bad at playing it.

>except you don't really want JSawyer on your first playthrough
i used jsawyer for my first playthrough and turned out just fine, what's the issue

The one that lowers your expectations because it's not worth half the hype Sup Forums gives it.

>you don't really want JSawyer on your first playthrough
No, you absolutely do. The only people who bitch about it are A. terrible at the game and B. remembering how easy the game used to be before installing it

If you use it from the start then instead of bitching about the change in difficulty, you'd just man the fuck up and deal with it

lying on the internet doesn't make you cool

And the problem is, without going vanilla the first time around, how will he know what's different?
Maybe he'll like vanilla more

There's no issue, you just won't appreciate the changes in JSawyer.

Also, I hate the lower level cap enough to edit it out, but that's just a matter of personal taste, I suppose.

>how will he know what's different
Better question, why would he care? It's a balance patch, not a game of Spot the Difference

>lying on the internet doesn't make you cool
you're right, i didn't turn out very well at all but i'm not sure my shemale porn addiction has anything to do with jsawyer

isn't that a good thing? if the changes are seamless enough that a first time player won't even notice, and if the changes are better, why should they play without them?

I honestly like the cap, even if just because the scaling turns Lonesome Road into super retarded fuckfest on 50

>why would he care?
>"Maybe he'll like vanilla more"

>Fallout 4 quickloot for NV
Basically adds the quickloot system from Fallout 4

>New Vegas Uncut
Adds content that was removed due to lack of time/glitches. 100% essential

>New Vegas Enchanced Camera
Lets you see yourself in first person

>Populated Casinos
Self explanatory
>No Auto aim
Fixes the aiming

>Music Recovery
Fixes and adds music within the game files that wasn't used

OWB is already a fuckfest at lv30, which is around where I was when I reached it having already done the previous two DLCs and basically every quest in the Mojave.

Fucking robo scorpions are ridiculous until you find a LAER and craft up a bunch of high power MFCs.

because it's more civilized, rather than apocalyptic

It's a personal thing, my autism flares up if I hit a hard cap on exp of any kind. I'd sooner decrease all exp gained by 80% than lower the cap.

>>Music Recovery
Hadn't seen this one mentioned before, I'll def check that out.

What's the level cap in JSawyer Ult.? I'm above 30 and have no idea where it is, just that leveling is slower than standard.

Never put any time into crafting bullets, its a waste of time

pick up every xander root and broc flower

after youre out of goodsprings, dont waste time in the first few areas, theres nothing useful in primm except for ED-E.

on the topic of ED-E, put a lot of points into repair. its useful

collect scrap metal, electronics, ductape and wrenches for easy weapon repair kits

guns and explosives are okay, but unarmed combat is the most powerful

dont fuck with the NCR, simply because its slightly inconvenient in some areas. no other reason

veronica is the best companion

legion is lame, but you can play both sides for double rewards

once you get to the strip, you will get your standing reset for ncr and legion ie they wont try and kill you (until you piss them off again)

hoover dam is a big stupid maze with nothing in it. dont spend your time there

35 or 40, I think.

Didn't Ult have a menu where you can set it?

same, I just completely lose all interest whenever I reach a cap in these kind of games
>level cap in JSawyer Ult
you can change it to whatever in MCM menu

>Never put any time into crafting bullets, its a waste of time
>Not shooting Legion fags in the face with their own money

Yeah, but I haven't changed anything and was wondering what the default was.

>dodge rolling
Does that mean I can Dark Souls the Deathclaws?

Yeah, but the menu tells you the default when you hover over it, which was my point

>not loading up JFP into Lucky

Vanilla is good for the first run. Get to know the game, about 30 hours or so, then mods.

Well I guess I'll stop posting from the fucking toilet and go check in-game, huh.

>pick up every xander root and broc flower
forgot to mention, this is to make stimpaks

energy weapons are usually pretty shit

all the dlcs are fun, except for honest hears. but HH has a great story, which makes up for it

10 luck is a lot of fun. you can steamroll through the casinos and get all their money

with 9 endurance, you can get implants that buff all of your other SPECial stats. so dont go over 9

jsawyer caps out at 35

you find such an insane amount of bullets anyways its not worth it most of the time
