What is the best hystorical setting when it comes to videogames and why is the middle ages?

middle ages is played out, bring back WW2!

You got that backwards, son.

Every westernrpg seems to be set in the middle ages. I just played Skyrim, Witcher 3 and Shadow of Mordor back to back to back. They are all middle age inspired. it gets tiring.

Why are there no fantasy WWII Games?

I thought Wolfenstein was a fantasy WWII game.

Wasn't valkyrie chronicles set in WW2 with magical artifacts?

>not late Roman Empire
Pleb.

>what is Operation Silent Storm

Because it's literally a world of white people that fight against muslims.

Necrovision, Blood Rayne.

Wolfenstein 2009.

With what? Dwarves and Elves running around a WW2 world? Or something like Classic Wolfenstein?

Speaking of the Romans, was the Praetorian Guard actually good at fighting or was it there to kill off emperors randomly?

Yeah but only if they are equipped with ballistic fists and such.

Occult magic RPG set in WW2 times when?

Late praetorian guard got wrecked on several occasions when they actualy had to fight. Early on they might have been good.

The F U T U R E , bonus points if 70's version of the future.

There is an old WW2 rpg, don't know if it has occult staff in it.

So which Romans could be considered the elite units?

There should be more ancient egypt games.

Because that's all we know.
No developer has had the balls to do a different time period without ruining it with some sort of animus shit

Shit nigger I have that game on disk.
Shit's broken though, game is bugged and can't get past first level, and there's absolutely no fucking guides or patches or anything online for it

There are actually very FEW games set in middle ages, fantasy or not. Don't mistake that for "generic medieval fantasy" settings.

Scholae Palatinae probably.

>fantasy WWII Games

Sounds like Operation Darkness. Shame it's stuck 360.

where are my Mesopotamian/Babylonian/etc. games?

I want a character action game where I can play as GIRUGAMESH with Enkidu co-op

Napoleonic Wars - Imperialism - WW1 is literally the best timeframe

early industrial era is better

>weaboo shit

What's the most underepresented and underrated historical setting for games?

Ancient India.

Ancient Mesopotamia probably.
