Music is music. If people can get away with listening to shit like Country why can't I enjoy some video game tunes?

>not having a music library of over 3000 artists.

Listening to all of it takes literally years.

one of my fag friends does this. He always tells me how much some pokemon theme or whatever is really good and forces me to listen to the shitshow. I fucking hate it when he does that.

>tfw not stupid enough to make a distinction between "videogame music" and "music"

If it's good music it's good music, retards.

>all that shit on the fade

Shameful

>all country is shit meme

can someone give me a quick rundown on this guy?

>"What kinda cut u want pham?"
>"Make me look like dat Super Mario level"
>"Say no mo'"

only old school country is good

that modern shit is straight garbage

Listen to real music

pokemon has some of the best composers in the industry though

post the theme and lets see if its good

This holds true for everything but jazz and foreign music

They are the Bogdanoff brothers, french movie producers who got popular way back when. After getting rich and popular they went down the path of fucking up their face with plastic surgery. They looked fairly weird before plastic surgery before anyway. The current meme is that the Rothchilds bow down the these 2 fucks and they are secretly aliens or some shit.

>your combination of melodies and sounds isn't real music, my combination of melodies and sounds is

>pokemon has some of the best composers in the industry though
yeah i get that, but looking at the mroe newer tracks fo SuMo all I hear are synths above more synths. Like, at least have some kind of musical diversity.
An example would be Guzma's theme.
youtube.com/watch?v=REC7daXbjho&ab_channel=Pokeli
I thought it would be based on hip hop like the first 3 seconds, but instead i get a shitstorm of synths and crazy hype battle WHOA! and it's like that for almost all the themes he shows me.

Joke's on you nerd, I listen to videogame AND anime music.

>not listening to the artist influences of your favorite vidya soundtracks

same here. been doing it for years.

Right now I'm listing to Blinded by Light

Joke's on you weeb, I listen to videogame, anime, AND brutal slamming death metal music.

Game music has more meaning to me. I used to be really into normal music when I was in my teens, though.

>not listening to RWDS entertainment exclusively

wow that sounds garbage

Gen 1-5 (being liberal with gen 5) definitely had excellent classic "pokemon" music though.

Well OST within the same game should have some sort of similarities to define atmosphere, like Ace Combat Zero's use of classical guitar for example

youtube.com/watch?v=vGjwXI0n5-I
youtube.com/watch?v=Xl2C28hMN2U

>>unironically thinks it's a meme

Oh my sweet summer child

>tfw jazz is always good

>Well OST within the same game should have some sort of similarities
more like it can. Look at Xenoblade chronicle's OST. It's very different from the mechon fight theme: youtube.com/watch?v=O0Jbzsg9fl0&ab_channel=Soullen
To Unfinished battle:youtube.com/watch?v=dbVt041PAWA&ab_channel=KogaHazan
An OST doesn't have to be the similiar because it's in the same game, It should change depending on setting, plot, and characters.

death metal was a mistake
metal was better in the 80s

how do i into jazz senpai?

Death metal was born from the 80s, dumbass.

youtube.com/watch?v=cQc4ZKH185E
youtube.com/watch?v=J_27DRSCB6M
youtube.com/watch?v=6mfvSSl9L9M

Well you are right. Different scenarios and characters calls for different kind of OST.

What I'm trying to say is that both variances and similarities are welcome in an OST, since OST is a part of the game's settings/atmosphere, and it should be made to represent that effectively. Of course, too much similarities is pretty bad

Who /jazzfusion/ here?

most death (and black) metal is shit, but when its good its damn good

youtube.com/watch?v=4xF2YDTCegU

if you listen to something other than videogame music get the fuck off my board you normie faggots
youtube.com/watch?v=zzuy7hWakq0

What's the problem? It's all the same shit man.

i fucking hate nu-memes. they have no foundation and get spammed until it sticks.

real memes have a basis from which it started and lasts because it was actually good and funny, not because it was being spammed.

>being a nigger

The only good thing to come from death metal was all the jazz-fusion bands.

Sup Forums competes with /soc/ directly as far as shit tastes

>get into NIN
>realize that i have to get into vidya music at one point

Have only ever done this with Shoji Meguro sruff and that one dude who does the sick proggy Final Fantasy medleys.

listen to Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue", and then go from there.

this is the true kino taste and nobody can argue with that

Why are shitskins so subhuman and disgusting mates? Why can't non-whites get their shit sorted out?

late 80s though, best band coming through
youtube.com/watch?v=-gTc5ZmTeuQ

Dude that shits not funny anymore.
Go back to Reported.

Is Nitro kino?

youtube.com/watch?v=cDcBKVKQizg

I also listen to anime music.

only japanese city pop and japanese glam is kino

>liking weebshit

I'm sorry you had a bad relationship with your father, user.

I jam to the Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack on the bus on my way home.

Why did Japan love yacht rock so much? So much of their shit apes the West Coast sound, it's crazy.

youtube.com/watch?v=VjrcZOyxa98

youtube.com/watch?v=u5RVyxFKRCg

>exclusively
not exclusively, but P4G soundtrack is Golden

Oh I'm worse than that. I listen to videogame soundtracks, vaporwave, some metal, and a couple of anime soundtracks.

I've chosen to focuse my media consumption efforts on videogames alone. Any other media, I'm the plebbest of the pleb and will stay that way.

>not having a phone full of varying Touhou vocal remixes in different styles

youtube.com/watch?v=NLzpXciijjA
>tfw listen exclusively to The Seatbelts
Never gets old.

I've been trying really hard to like country user.

It's just not possible. Country is just so full of trash, that's considered passable, because people like the sound of a guitar twang.

I'm kind of similar. I tried listening to that Sturgill Simpson album that came out last year that was getting a lot of praise and I just couldn't get into it. I do like alt-country but "real" country isn't something I can really stand to listen to. I do like some bluegrass though.

>he doesn't listen to video game music and then find the genre of said music
>He doesn't listen to 10 new songs every day to weed out what you like

Japanese city pop's been around just as long as yacht rock has lad, they're not influenced by eachother and they only sound similar because they share the same influences, except yacht rock is obviously rock music with strong smooth jazz influence and city pop is largely electronic-based with strong smooth jazz influence

alt country suffers a similar problem. You try to find something and the recomendations are just country that spilled over.

In fact I'd say alt-country is only passable because the mild filter.

rap is the bastard child of country

>going to the video game section of an anime imageboard to gloat about how you don't listen video game music
You are insecure.

The sad country songs are really good, along with the one's that are just for fun. The kind that are like their own little stories too, can't think of a name for the last one.

It's the "Tractors, 4WD and dreaming 'bout women, cold beer and a cowboy hat with my boots on from 9 to 5" kind of country music that sucks.
It gets worse though, there's Country Rap now.

Well it's easier to find alt-country that has influences from other genres or that doesn't sound like traditional country. There is plenty of what you're saying, that is just traditional country that spills over into alt-country but it's pretty easy to avoid.

>tfw unronically listen to nothing but high quality video game rips

youtube.com/watch?v=HRHymQC_LVs

there's no hope for me bros

really old country is great.

Marty Robbins
Johnny Horton
Johnny Cash

please post impressive songs. i love this kind of shit, this is game boy color

you sure seem to find that a lot around here now

huh

That beat sounds so familiar.

Are you me?

seems like a pretty common sound among computer generated songs
youtube.com/watch?v=3ODKKILZiYY

Jokes on you. I listen to video game remixes.

I actually really love threads like these. They've gotten me into Toshiki Kadomatsu, Electric Light Orchestra and Flying Lotus.

youtube.com/watch?v=ANn3a67DG7I

Anyone else get into music from threads like these?

youtube.com/watch?v=Q7eVA8IWGVA&

its kind of weird thinking that old game music had this much detail in it.

In my ever longing quest to get a taste in music, I actually discovered I've had a folder full of 7 year old infographs I downloaded off Sup Forums.

So here, it's one several from my Sup Forums infograph folder. Can't really comment on any of them, but I'm sure you can find your taste from here.

That one's really neat too.

I wish I played more older games like that in my youth, I can't get into them nowadays.
I think Super Castlevania was one of the very few SNES games I've ever played.

WHO /jrock/ HERE?
WHO /new retrowave/ HERE?
WHO /synth pop/ HERE?
WHO /thrash metal/ HERE?
WHO /easy listening/ HERE?
WHO /multiple genre/ HERE?

always wondered was the term gimmick from this game?

>new wave
>synth pop
>multiple genre
Yes

>others
No

Django Reinhardt

>he doesn't listen exclusively to ambient synthwave inspired by video games

this is literally the gayest post that's ever been on Sup Forums

So good.

I never really have any clue about what genre anything is, I just mindlessly gather songs that I like the sound of.
Christian rock, Classical, Classic Rock and Power Metal for a few examples that I actually do know.
I also have a ton of random vidya music and even the OP to a Hentai video.

I don't really listen to video game music a lot, but I do listen to music that sounds like video game music. Like, action combat-ish themed music. Not Epic music like Two Steps From Hell or Epic Score but more so... futuristic/dark/fast paced/underwater Tech and DnB music.

sorry
