>more than 16 gb of ram

goat 1080p gaymen box

ty microcenter

Recently just ordered my gtx 1070 and 8gb of ram. should be arriving on the 30th.
the 6gb and 3gb are the same in performance comparison you know.

Did you just install RAM without setting the XMP?

...

OP here, can my rig not run games on Ultra? Because I keep getting stuttering when I try and run No Man's Sky on Ultra.

These threads are the most entertaining games PC gamers can have.

at least we have games

...

Just so you guys know when you buy faster DD4 RAM ala anything over 2133mhz, you are meant to set it to that OC speed it was advertised as.

If you just put it in the mobo its runs at the default clockspeed.

>intellij
you better not be a filthy java programmer user

r8 and h8

>Minecraft
>Skyrim

might as well
OCed to 4.5

Just finished ending E on Nier, great game.

waiting on Vega right now.

...

...

your build is extremely similar to mine

I hope you're playing Nier then as well, friend.

What the hell is the purpose of this machine

It's comfy

And it fits in an iPad sleeve

Do you have to have mario 64 running in that small box to get 60fps or can that machines handle it fullscreen?

...

How much was that? Seems like a good second computer to have to shitpost and watch anime on.

fat IT dude from the last company i worked at used a netbook to watch anime on night shift since usually there weren't any issues.

Forgot to add, can I upgrade anything without bottlenecking or swapping the motherboard?

...

Is it fast for surfing the net and doing the most basic shit?

...

...

Almost the same as mine.

...

What's the best larger capacity 3.5" HDD?
I want to get a 3 or 4TB drive, and Seagate Barracuda's are $100 for 4TB at microcenter, but I dunno if Seagates are decent again yet.

I think your PC is on fire.

s'cool

Yeah upgrade to the 1060 with 6gb vram and 16gb ram.

My birthday is in two weeks and I want to take a shot at building my own computer. Any recomendations on specs to aim for? $1.6K budget

I recommend you spend less than $1,600

...

...

>had another 8 GB of RAM but the sticks didn't fit when I built my computer so I just procrastinated on getting more

It has been a year since.

i5 7600k/i7 6700k
z270 Motherboard
16GB DDR4 RAM at 2400+ MHz
1070 or 1080 depending on needs, 1070 is fine for 1080p 144hz
A SSD for booting/programs, and a HDD of your choice of size.
I have a EVGA G2 PSU, but a G3 is probably better. They're rated well and have long warranties.

Then just buy a MOBO, CPU cooler, and any other accessories you need like fans and shit depending on budget.

>fury
How's the coil whine?

If it keep it lean, sure. I have an old topshiba nb305 that is great for note taking, internet browsing (back when websites weren't as bloated), and watching stuff in 720.

I tried to boot it up recent and it's slow as fuck. I did lend it to someone for a year though, they probably put some usless shit on it. I'll probably stick on some netbook oriented linux distro on it. I tried an early one that was pretty shit years ago (it advertised itself as being lean enough to free up processing power for 1080p content. Load of shit)

I have no idea if it's good.
Can anyone tell me if it's an alright build?

moron

...

I haven't noticed any, but I play with headsets anyways.

I'd have to recommend Tiny7

It's warez, don't put your passwords in it, but it lets you install Windows 7 into a 4GB folder and then boot it with like 200MB of RAM, and now you have a shitputer to put all your old cracks and keygens on

pls no bully

>tfw saved to build a new PC
>realised during this time that $2.5k gets me a mid range build in NZ
Just going to keep using my laptop until it can't get 60fps on low and then off myself I guess

Aside from your shit screen, there's nothing really wrong with a budget 1080p-tier build.

...

...

I really dont care about playing in 1080. I grew up on shitty crt tv's and internet that could only handle 360p video until late 2013. stable 60fps 720p is fine for me.

...

dust your fucking computer out. jesus

I'm pretty happy with this considering.

What the fuck is wrong with my ram though, I can never figure out if it's running normally.

It's this kit:

My EVGA is gonna burn my house down one day, but I sure am glad my computer isn't hot like yours.

...

>literally a pay to win thread
Sup Forums will defend this

Is that cpu temperature true or just speccy glitch?

After all these years this old 760 sitting at 4GHz has been perfectly fine. I should really get around to building a new machine though.

New gpu next winter.

but what do you win in this thread?

It's not a power competition thread, but an interesting build thread.
Generally the burn to the groundfags have an advantage at getting attention.

You're cpu will always be a bottleneck because AMD a shit. You could probably get a 1060 but anything over that would give severe diminishing returns.
I have an fx 6300@ 4.5 ghz and no matter what I do i get frame drops in games with my 970. Even if it's solid 60 there is always some fucking CPU spike and it shits the bed. God I can't wait to get my new hardware. Fucker was cheap as hell tho and did it's job.

>I grew up eating shit so why would I ever want to stop

wait for r5

why? it won't work with an am3 mobo and AMD fucking sucks balls for vidya. As a workstation it's probably good but don't hold your breath for anything.

No user, it's more a matter of
>I grew up with mediocre hardware so I'm not elitist about things and I'm more willing to settle for cheaper electronics

Holy fuck the new ghost recon is an unoptimized piece of shit

but then i realized
>ubisoft

...

...

Oh, poorfag.
a 1080p monitor is like 90 bucks.

my computer cant run max settings at 1080p. it can at 720.

...

>93C

...

What's wrong with it? It runs just fine. It's been that way for as long as i've had it. Sometimes there's a burning smell but otherwise there's no problems

I think if you tried you'd be suprised senpai

Means its probably thermal throttling. Not running as well as it could.

it struggles with hitman

...

You'd give up 1080p so you don't have to play 1 (ONE) game at medium settings?

Would buying a locked 7500 next week be dumb?

Im saying it struggles at medium settings with hitman for 720p, user.

I dunno. is it going in a Z series board? If you said yes, you are wasting money somewhere

No, that's whole point of not getting the unlocked. It's so I don't have to get a 150 dollar mobo and buy a 40 dollar cooler

Then you are fine

Oh, well if you look at benchmarks online your peecee should theoretically be able to play most games on 1080p ultra/high

...

you should never ever buy a locked CPU, intel XMP allows tech illiterate people to OC their hardware to a stable OC, not an enthusiast level which is 5ghz mostly just RAM and CPU
