This is the golden age of vidya. Have fun with it while it lasts.

why? what good games were released so far?

steamcommunity.com/id/tfwNoTomokoBf/

Well, assuming you don't live under a rock, people are talking about it right at this very moment.

I do live under a rock

anyways lately Sup Forums has been talking about:

>Zelda breath of the wild
not on PC (don't care enough to try and emulate), plus not a fan of sandbox/open world games, yet I still like old zelda titles and metroidvanias

>mass effect andromeda
not interested

>that cartoony game with a cat as the protagonist
not interested

>hollow knight
played and disliked

maybe more I'm not remembering

Don't worry, this isn't so much of a year for PC.. yet. PC games are gonna come this fall, but consoles are really showing their stuff, the gods of vidya truly blessed Feb and March with incredible games.

>Persona 5
>Nier Automata
And arguably Ace Combat 7

>gravity rush 2
>Nioh
>nier automata
>BotW
>horizon
>resi 7
considering we're only 3 months into the year, that's phenomenal

No. We are probably either existing or entering the Bronze Age of video gaming. The Golden Age has come and gone.

No, but I predict it will be the greatest year in shitposting history.

>Persona 5
tried Persona 3 FES, didn't like it, so not interested

>Nier Automata
maybe I'll check it out

>gravity rush 2
would play if it was on PC

>Nioh
looks like dark souls and I disliked darks souls prepare to die edition

>horizon zero dawn
not interested

>resident evil 7
played it being a RE fan but disliked it

I see there's a lot, my tastes are just unpopular, looking forwards RE2 remake but probably won't come out in 2017

By the sounds of your responses you don't like games OP

also it's clear he's limited himself to pc for whatever reason instead of being idort master race

nobody who really likes video games would knowingly restrict their potential to enjoy them

I'm not OP

heh, it's my only hobby, I don't really like anything anymore

I was on console before but the lack of customization made me leave

is customization really worth it if it means denying yourself some genuinely great games

I want to tomo Tomo's tomos

I am OP and I love games. I am passionate about vidya. I enthusiastically believe that this has been a great year, and it just started.

It's the only hobby I have anyways, other than watching anime. Yes, I am a loser but meh, that's life for ya.

Yeah sorry I didn't mean you I just went full retard for a second.

I will not enjoy them if:
>I don't like the controls
>it performs poorly
>it looks bad
>it as gameplay elements I dislike

I was able to remedy things I dislike and give extra replay value on console games when cheating devices like the gameshark were still around

on console, it's either you enjoy the game as it is, or you don't, on PC I can mod the game to my liking (to some extent of course, often I'm not able to do what I want)

you sound cute

The guy who made that is great, he's a cool guy, I had a chat with him about this pic.

That's sad really, you can't like a game just because it looks bad.

I have seen a few people posting this... I am starting to think people are being serious... so you think 2017 is better than 2004, 2007 and 2011?

>Gravity Rush 2
>RE7
>Yakuza 0
>Nioh
>Zelda
>Horizon
>Turok 2
>Rain World
>Snake Pass
>Hollow Knight
>Tales of Berseria
>For Honor
>Sniper Elite 4
>Night in the Woods
>Nier: Automata
>Styx: Shards of Darkness
>Toukiden 2
>Zero Escape: The Nonary Games

yeah but it depends a bit,
>I like low poly, but not low resolution (pixelated look)
>2D pixel sprites are ok
>I like clear, simple lighting (that older games sometimes have), I dislike bloom, fog, blur and pretty much any post process effects, those will greatly reduce my enjoyment of the game
>if the game doesn't run at 60 fps that will also greatly reduce my enjoyment of it

If we base it on the first three months, yes, arguably better than 2004, but objectively better than 2007 and 2011. 2011 in my opinion is a overrated year for vidya.

>Turok 2

If you aren't a normie

If you hate anime or japanese games then these year is just average.

Its pretty good but I dont see myself replaying anything recent for years to come.

Is Michlan the worst namefag Sup Forums has had in the past few years?

I'm pretty sure Matt is the only person looking forward to Turok 2

it's already out

yeah all these excellent games such as.... uh.......................

All those games suck.

I'm only looking forward to Ace Combat 7 this year.

>1998

It's alright, but it's not the greatest by any measure.

>Ys 8 (English) coming out this year also
>Trails of Cold Steel 3 this year

youtube.com/watch?v=mh1FlpIbCp0

>BotW
>Nioh
>Yakuza 0
>Persona 5
>Nier Automata

It's been an amazing year for weebs so far, but a trash year for western fans, granted that's going to change with Red Dead Redemption 2

the remaster came out march 16

you might just not like video games any more

Project Diva Future Tone is still GOTY 2017.

>ps4 exclusive
So glad i bought a good console.

I was slowly coming around to OP's argument, when you reminded me of 2004 and 2007.
Hell 2007 practically carried 2008, it was so jam-packed with good shit.

Aren't you forgetting something?

Wrong, I play videogames every time I have a chance.

>arguably better than 2004
yeah nah

Hol up, when did the Silver Age happen?

Golden Age was literally the 70s-early 80s, Silver late 80s-late 90s, the Platinum Age was Y2K - 2007, and we are currently suffering through the Plutonium Age which is slowly killing us all and making us worse at them.

Objective Fact

Tomo was cool and now it sucks dick. Fumita is a hack that should just stick to writing H. Why you you need to take a hiatus every 3 weeks holy shit you're only making 7 pages a week. Carol is shit. Misuzu is shit and tomo became shit.

Fuck Fumita and fuck you to Michlan

Tomo-chan's fanbase are base. imgur.com/a/UBTfb

No

1998 was the pinnacle

the late 90's to early 2000's were all good too.

2007 was the last good year for games.

it has all gone down hill since then

>Filipino
I guess it's a good year all things considered.

>only 5 enjoyable games
wew lad

Spread out among more than 1 platform. This shows how much vidya actually sucks today to be quite honest.

Which games do you play?

Is Nioh actually good? I read posts saying it was trivial because of mechanics and enemy variety wasn't there. Just looking for something to play after P5.

...

It's at the very least the second coming of 2007. 3 fantastic months isn't enough to call it a 90's-tier year just yet, though. On the other hand, I don't even know what's coming out the rest of the year.

I know Googlers are reading this.
Get your shit together.

And Captcha team, make the animations not take ages.

I'd say that either Golden = SNES-PS1 with SIlver being PS2, or Golden is SNES with SIlver being PS1-PS2.

>tfw none of those games interest me in any way.

Being an rts fan is suffering

But it will release on PC

>reflection on the bubble
Looked for it and wasn't disappointed

Not every thing that is released will be universally liked by its very nature of being art. The thing you like the most will be equally hated by at least one person. It's easy to think of Sup Forums as a single person disagreeing with you for no reason (being deliberately contrarian), but you are actually seeing the opinions of another small amout of people among the thousands that traffic Sup Forums.

About 90% of movies, video games, books, etc that are released you will dislike.

penny arcades = neato bandito
golden age of arcade (late 70s-early 80s) = awesome
16-bit era was mostly a refinement of concepts conceived in the 8-bit era, but that's okay = okay
2D CD systems = intredasting
5th gen = BARF
dreamcast = our god is a loving god
2008 global economic crisis = unfortunate

and that's it, really
the industry never recovered
