Most western open world games have been rushed as fuck. Ubisoft loves them but also loves money which is why they're released almost yearly and have awful bugs and are repetitive as fuck.

If they took more time to make them then we'd be living in a gaming renaissance.

Pursuit of greed. A company that cares about the product will almost always turn out better than anything coming from the EA/corporate assembly line.

Because put a recognizable name on it and it'll sell anyways, why put extra work into it.

I don't get it though. ME:A's environments and world design is actually good.

the team that developed Andromeda are amateurs, and also SJW cucks

Pieces of a puzzle. Good looking pieces do not equate to a quality product when the rest are crap.

>Zelda BOTW is literally dumbed down Skyrim of Zelda series
>why does western dev fuck up

what resemblance does it have to skyrim?

andromeda is made by bioware's b team, or even c team actually, a studio that haven't made their own game before..
bioware is incompetent as a whole though, we've knew this since me3, why did people expect it would be different this time around?

>over a hundred of samey dungeons filled with braindead """puzzles"""
>YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE
>theme park map
>meaningless quests
>shit voice acting
>terrible music
At least Skyrim didn't have weapon breakage.

the reason is because nintendo's designers take care to make their design purposeful
whereas most devs do open world so they can put the buzzword on the back of the box and aren't very competent designers at all

What's a theme park map

That's Skyrim's map. Where every 10 meters there's something to entertain you. Practically a map so dense with shit that it stops feeling like a real world.

Open world games can't be good.

Open world fags never fail to amaze me
Here I am, hating the current open world meme that AAA devs have to shove in every game and I thought I could find someone to echo chamber my opinion, but as it turns out you want open worlds to have even more pointless fucking empty landscape
Jesus fucking Christ

Because games go beyond gamers.

While Zelda is a good game in a technical and lyrical way, the new generation of open world western games help empower females and bring gender equality to society as a hole, as well as pushing trans rights and their preferred pronoms on to the table.

...

What about it.
Gameplay is terrible, story is all about doing countless favors to find some girl.
Graphics are nice though.

>theme park
>stuff in it

Bethesda really can't win with you fucking retards can they, it's either "too empty" or a "themepark" and "congested".
Jesus fuck.

whats a good game for u then

>pronoms
Shut the fuck up Bernd

>meaningless quests
>literally bringing people together from all over hyrule to start a village

BioWare, Ubisoft and Bethesda have been perpetuating the lie that an open world game NEEDS to cut corners at every turn because it's so big that it would be impossible otherwise.

They don't want higher standards.

Would be much better without the open world.

really it will be better without being able to Travle skellige in a boat at your own pace

Skellige was clearly unfinished though.
All those islands and the only thing you did there was find some clue to Ciri in the middle of a forest.

>over a hundred of samey dungeons filled with braindead """puzzles"""
do you mean shrines? i've yet to encounter one that felt samey except the tests of strength
>YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE
you can
>theme park map
what?
>meaningless quests
the quests you do gives you stuff, often something you'll need at one point
>shit voice acting
for zelda and that goron asshole you have to escort up death mountain, everyone else is fine
>terrible music
It's not all bad, it can be really good when the game decides to be

Have you even played MEA?

Stop watching gameplays on Youtube and stop playing with shit tier graphics.

If you play MEA on 4k with highest settings and 60 fps and say that the game is bad, then you should stop wasting your time with games and do something you like.

How do grafix make a bad game good?

Someone's in denial about their shitty purchase.

If you play on that you can see that the character and enemies still look like shit.
Environments look nice. that's pretty much all that it has going to it.

>Ultima I (1981)
There is an open-world. You can go pretty much anywhere. There are monsters, towns, and items around the world.
First open-world game ever. Started the WRPG genre. Started the JRPG genre. Laid the path for every open-world game, RPG, action game, and MMO to come. Recognition among gamers: not much.

>Zelda BotW (2017)
There is an open-world. You can go pretty much anywhere. There are monsters, towns, and items around the world.
It's in 3D, like most games have been for 20 years. The combat is press X to win, like most action games before generation 6. The world is empty, like most early 3D MMOs from 17 years ago. Recognition among gamers: best game ever and a massive game changer, despite riding the coattails of every better implemented innovation over 30 year.

because open world is hard to do correctly and modern devs don't even know what makes a good one in the first place

>The world is empty
?

>stop watching all the things that show the game is fucking ass and buy it!

couldn't be more obvious
