i loved doom 1+2 but even as someone who isnt blinded by nostalgia i honestly think doom 3 is a bad game

Game really ramps up when you get about halfway through it and stops being "random zombie popping out of an air duct" to "using your minigun to rain hell on to hordes of demons"

This is true. It's actually very action oriented

Its got tons of flaws.

>game gives you way too much ammo
>every single weapon takes down every demon far too easily, cept the pistol of course
>game has very few tricks to throw at you, usually spans one or two demons at a time
>75% of the game is just spanning in a single Imp at a time
>weapons feel too samey

Despite all it's issues, I still really like the game. Think the Resurrection of Evil expansion is my favorite. Has more variety than base Doom 3.

So if this game tries to be slow and 2spooky, are there any mods that fix it?

I remember being younger and I was too scared to get past a certain part, but I doubt I'd feel that tension now and it would probably be boring.

It's super flawed. Barely a Doom game and more like a more action focused System Shock 2 with the lights turned off.
Still okay though.

I mean it's basically a requirement to play it, even if it's a bit mediocre.

The BFG edition adds a flashlight to your Assault Rifle and Shotgun which makes it far less tedious to play whack a mole switching from your shotgun to your flashlight and back and forth over and over.

Never understood what was so spooky about it anyway. Zombies are slow as fuck and die easily. Most of the demons have demonic whispering and a bright red portal opening up to telegraph their arrival.

I mean now probably not, but I was 10 when it came out so it spooped me pretty bad playing it on xbox. I think I got to where you get the chainsaw or something.
