How realistic do you like your racing games?

How realistic do you like your racing games?

depends on the mood i'm in

Arcade. Forza Horizon is the only racing game I've bought this generation. I hope to god Horizon 4 is in Japan.

Mario Kart tier and not an inch more realistic.

I'm really not the biggest fan of racing games but I usually enjoyed those kart racing games like mario kart, ctr and that one sonic game.

This
Every other game feels like a boring singleplayer game where one tiny mistake will cost you the whole race and a lost lead means you might as well kill yourself. Mario Kart has some terrible power ups but drifting feels so good.

Arcade.
I liked Porject Cars. Not really my cup of tea, though.

Either simcade or full on simulator. Possibly full arcade if you count the old pre-HP2 Need for Speed games as that, but they're way less arcadey than the modern ones.

why did you make Assetto Corsa the top of the scale for simulators?
iRacing and rFactor2 are probably the top in that regard
I like AC, that isn't why I'm bringing it up

Considering this is the only racing game I ever enjoyed, I'd say not realistic is better.

Simcade and Sims are boring as fuck.

Burnout, NFS, Mario Kart, F-Zero, Kirby Air Ride, and Star Wars Episode 1 racer are the only good racing games/series.

I could've widened the scale to include iRacing and Mario Kart but whatever.

I think Assetto is actually the most realistic purely on the physics front (especially for drifting), though it flops in other areas (physics/sounds/race rules/atmosphere/etc). Really sterile experience.

that reminds me, they just gave me a steam key for my copy of rfactor 2

haven't played it in ages, how is it these days?

PCars could also probably be replaced with something that doesn't suck, like any of Simbin's stuff like GTR2, Race 07, etc.

>captcha: ruelle Ferreri
ah yes, the famous itelian car company

looks like hes doing console games

Arcade is more fun.

couldn't tell you, I only play the first one. I think rF2 has some sort of subscription to play online

GX is a different beast when it comes to racing. It's got the best feeling control scheme in any game ever. You feel like you're in complete control of the machine.

Easily the best racing game of all time.

New NFS is still too simulator

that's iracing, though rfactor 2 might have changed since i played it

...

>How realistic do you like your racing games?
GTA/Test Drive Style open world gameplay
rFactor2/iRacing-tier realism
combined in one game please!

Will never happen, because the government doesn't like realistic street racing games for obvious reasons.

Burnout Revenge level.

open world racing games are carp

What are some good arcade racers on sale right now?

no actually they're trout

>You feel like you're in complete control of the machine.
Except for when you tilt the stick too fast and start quick-turning out of nowhere

As much as I love F-Zero GX, I really wish that mechanic wasn't in there. It feels like it's only in there to make you lose control and fuck you over

Pretty much not at all. Favorite racing games are between Burnout 3 and F-Zero GX

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I know basically nothing about cars in real life, I don't know

eat my dick motherfucker

i'm gonna kick your bass

Thinking about getting project cars on steam. Is it any good?

No. Wait for Forza 7 instead.

Horizon 3 feels less arcade than Driveclub, but then again I play with all the assists off for that sweet dosh bonus so maybe that's why?

Get fucked Nintendo fanboys, nobody cares with what toys you autistic bunch play.

Horizon runs on the same engine as Forza. If you turn on telemetry you can see all the little shit like tire temperature + pressure/spring compression being recorded. Of course they nerf the physics a lot to make it easier, and let you drive 200mph on dirt.

like road rash

huh, that's pretty interesting

I'll go for full arcade or full sim if I don't need extra peripherals. Won't touch simcade with a ten foot pole, unless it's GT.

Depending on your settings forza can go either full sim or Mario Kart tier.

Gran Turismo is more simulator than Forza DESU

I prefer fun

NFS 2, fucking minor.

Mario Kart, I'm not a car culture normie and drifting just feels so fun.

rFactor 2
But full arcade stuff is also fun

>he plays video games for fun

This
Either give me cuhrazy 250km/h drifts and shit or give me full autism simracing

If Need For Speed 2015 is on the end of the arcade spectrum then we need to have a talk.

Burnout Takedown is my favorite racan game of all time.

Simulation shit just bores me.

I picked up Project Cars for cheap and enjoyed starting off with driving aids and disabling them as I got better. I mostly played single player time trials though.

For multiplayer I like Mario Kart, but I think of it as being closer to "party" than "racing".

About what, user?

Arcadey is almost always more fun for me. Burnout Takedown 4 lyfe.

Yeah this guy gets it, a real man would play DKR, CTR or Sonic and All Stars Racing

>memeclub more realistic than Forza

I like Split Second.

Whatever level Burnout 3/Revenge were on. That's the sweet spot.

>That pic
Hell, racing games are dead as fuck.
>No Wipeout
>No F-Zero
>No Xtreme-G
>No Cruis'n'USA
>No Top Gear
>No OutRun
>No Sanic Transformed
>No old Need For Speed
>No BurnOut

surprised no ones mentioned dirt

Where does Blur fit?

My niggas

Daytona USA

most NFS games are simcades you little nigger

I'd put GT ahead of Forza desu

>the latest Need For Speed is considered the extremes of arcade-y in the same world where Blur, the Burnout series, the Trackmania series, and Split/Second all exist
I knew sim-fags were close minded but goddamn

Project Gotham Racing was the perfect mix

F BizareCreations

Crash Team Racing part of the spectrum.

Not the good ones.

Simulation.

which ones?

Wherever Burnout would be, so I definitely prefer Arcade racers.

The closest I get to simulation is DiRT Rally.

I mainly like whacky arcade racers, like trackmania.

Apologize to Forza Horizon 3

The type of realism in Bournout 3.

Basically it's a sim game, but they ease up on the realism in the spots people wouldn't really notice for maximum fun.

Simcade, mostly. I'm not a carfag, so I don't get into simulations much. I like some arcade racers.

for my two wheel bros -- what is the most sim tier game i can play in the riding offseason?
