Good meme or bad?

I've never played one, downloading Metro Prime now.

metro prime is that the one where Artyom fights space pirates?

It has melee 10/10

It was the worse console of the 3 but it wasn't a bad console. It's just that PS2 and Xbox were just better and more popular.

It's a 100/10 if you compare it to the shitfest Wii and Wii U though.

it was the last good nintendo console

>remove mask at wrong time
>explosively decompress
>remaster removes the ability to manually remove the mask and just automatically puts it on whenever you leave an airlock, adds ability to vent gases that does nothing but looks neat

Objectively worse than the N64 and Wii, only overhyped because most kiddies on Sup Forums grew up with it as their first system. It has the worst 3D Zelda in Wind Waker, the worst 3D Mario in Sunshine, the worst Mario Kart in Double Dash, and the worst Smash game in Melee. Its high points are second party and third party titles, as the first party lineup is incredibly weak.

Air Ride is dope tho

Unironically my favorite system ever, but I will admit it is because I grew up with it. It's library is amazing and still holds up today though.

Decent. Outclassed by a mile by the Playstation 2, though

>Outclassed by a mile by the Playstation 2
Lol

Gamecube was better than Xbox, dude. Xbox was the worst of the three.

Gamecube had Symphonia

>One game makes an entire system

Tell that to the massive library of PS2 games, with uncountable classics. The PS2 had an absolutely huge library of top tier games

The second best Nintendo console, lots of great console exclusives that you should try
>Prime 2
>Mario Sunshine
>Pikmin 1 and 2
>Paper Mario TTYD
>Smash Bros Melee
>Mario Kart DD
>Luigi Mansion
>Kirby Air Ride
>Animal Crossing
>Chibi-Robo
>Wario World
and plenty of others

As someone who grew up with only a Gamecube, it was a piece of shit in comparison to the competition. You were an outcast on the playground if you couldn't go home and play Halo on Xbox Live and PS2 just had every single relevant game that came out during that console generation. Looking back, it does have good games and in terms of collecting, Gamecube has some of the most valuable games like Melee and Path of Radiance, not to mention that multiplats tend to be more expensive on Gamecube.

Unpopular opinion: Gamecube controller is actually kind of shitty with its special snowflake layout. Give me a Dualshock almost any day of the week.

No lol Xbox was the strongest console out of the 3. PS2 had the best exclusives and was most popular. Gamecube had the classics that people loved from Nintendo sure, but it was dead last. I'm not saying it was a bad console by no means, unlike the shitty Wii, Wii U, and Switch. But it was nowhere near better than PS2 or Xbox. It's really a shame too because it was Nintendo's last good console.

I just don't understand why they keep doing this gimmick bullshit after gimmick after gimmick. I mean look at the sales of the PS4. Shit's selling like hotcakes without any gimmick faggot shit. Why can't Nintendo just put out enough console that's like the Gamecube, just a straight up strong console with somewhat decent 3rd party support with no gimmick bullshit? Why do they insist on doing gay shit every fucking time they release a new console?

The last good nintendo console

Xbox was the worst

The Wii was good. Everybody liked the motion controls, and they really made it work for games like Metroid Prime and Tales of Symphonia II. The Wii gets a lot of undeserved shit. I think it just came out at the wrong time

>the wii was good
kill yourself

They're literally fucking invincible

>The PS2 had an absolutely huge library of top tier games
Every console did that gen, even the Xbox had some good stuff.

The Wii has exactly three 10/10 games: Super Mario Galaxy duology and Xenoblade, it's objectively the worst Nintendo console.

The only good nintendo console. Custom robo, mario sunshine, and sonic heroes all day. But there was a lot more to that i had. Went back and forth between that and the xbox

Best console of that generation
GC>PS2>DC>Xbox

>The only good nintendo console
Are you underage?

Just proves better hardware doesn't mean a better selling system.

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes

The PS4 is the first time the most powerful console has sold the best.

>Gamecube first
Fuck off. GC was great, but the PS2 is objectively the best

>downloading

gamecube didn't have digital games dubmass

I emulated the other consoles and they sucked. NES is unplayable shovelware at this point, dont care for shitty rpgs on the snes, n64 has a handful of good games mostly from rare, and everything after the gamecube is shovelware with no content or challenge

>Weakest hardware
>Best
Lol

>the worst 3D Mario in Sunshine, the worst Mario Kart in Double Dash, and the worst Smash game in Melee
As someone who has been playing games since the Master System I gotta say you have abysmal tastes.

So you really are underage
Kill yourself kid

>>>neogaf

>worst Smash game in Melee.

It was the last good Nintendo console. The Wii was just a slightly updated GC with motion control gimmicks. (They are, in fact, based on nearly identical hardware)

The only downside was the lack of third-party exclusives. There were a lot of multiplats, and some first-party games were great, but there just wasn't enough to compete with the PS2 or Xbox. Also, GC games are starting to become expensive on the reseller market. The hardware is another story. I think you can still get a GC base for USD $15. If you just want to play cheap multiplats from that generation, then it's not a bad investment. Although a used PS2 should run you no more than $30, and it's a hell of a lot easier to pirate for PS2 than GC.

Symphonia was weeb trash but other than that you're correct. PS2>=GCN>Xbox

HOWEVER

360>PS3>Dogshit>Wii

360>Dogshit>PS3>Wii is what I think you meant, quick name 5 good exclusives for the PS3.

It was the height of Nintendo. It had great 1st party games AND actually solid 3rd party support.
>Wind Waker
>Viewtiful Joe
>REmake
>RE4 (was exclusive at the time)
>MGS: Twin Snakes
>Metroid Prime
>Mario Sunshine
>Pikmin 1 and 2
>Ikaruga
>Smash Bros Melee
>Mario Kart DD
>Tales of Symphonia
>Eternal Darkness
>Skies of Arcadia
The more games I remember, the better I feel the console was. It's a shame Nintendo has gone to such shit since.

>can't talk about Melee anymore because competitive Melee dominates the discussion every time

I just fucking liked Adventure mode, alright?

The wii at least had mario galaxy and nights journey of dreams, come on. It should be

360 > dogshit = wii > dogshit left in the sun > ps3

I feel like anyone underage enough to ask about the Gamecube should just be dead. World is nearing apocalypse anyway. May as well be.

>NES is unplayable shovelware
What kind of faggot are you?

Are you ready for his return?

Can't believe you forgot this masterpiece.

meme console, only better than the 64

I have never NEVER seen a worse post than this

>proprietary disc that doesn't hold as much data as a regular DVD
>attempted to drive away pirates but also managed to drive away third party developers
it seems like every nintendo system after the SNES minus the wii had some sort of crippling flaw

>minus the wii

lol

>minus the wii
Kill yourself

Of course competitive melee takes over every melee discussion. Melee is far from a dead game, although it peaked in '07.

It's an amazing system defined by the unique experiences its exclusives offer. I'm genuinely surprised Nintendo hasn't picked up on how timeless the Gamecube is for so many people (even non owners) because of games like Mario Kart, Smash Brothers and even a few dozen who tried Metroid Prime 2's multiplayer (it was fucking unbalanced as shit)

it sold well and its motion control gimmick was actually cool for 2005. the lack of HD and the fact that it was essentially an overclocked gamecube didn't mean shit.

wavebird was great for its time and it had good multiplats that looked better than ps2 and some unique jap shit 5/5

It had no games compared to its predecessors, just mountains of shovel ware.

>2005

2006. And the motion control novelty wore off fast. Wiimotes without Motion Plus were shit to use and every game had shoehorned-in waggle controls that nobody liked.

how does it selling well benefit you? no hd, terrible controller and controls, terrible online, died after a few years suddenly. the wii was shovelware: the console with a handful of decent games

Justin Bieber sells well that doesn't mean its good
The fact that you think a gimmick like that is good is retarded

Are you fucking retarded? He's downloading it on his computer to emulate it

This one image summarises up the gamecube and what it means to me.

gc went on permanent sale for 99 eurobux like a year after release while the xbox was 699 at launch at a time when everyone had gaming pcs

xbox a shit

>lack of HD and power doesn't make it any less lucrative for developers to work with
>gamecube discs, n64 cartridges, poor console sales are

Xbox had the best game of the gen though.

Play timesplitters 2. That's good life advice in general

wii being also shit doesn't require other nintendo consoles to be perfect dumbass

The PS2 version is better in this screenshot

You get twice as many bullets

The Wii
>based free games machine
>download a gamecube loader for free GC games

What's not to like about it?

yeah a game people only played at the supermarket because no one was dumb enough to buy an xbox lol

And the 360 had the best game of its gen as well

How can anyone beat microsoft bros? Sony bros, nintendo bros...lets form up...

Reminder that Wii Sports is ten years old

Don't you mean 11?

Are you kidding? Sony BTFOs the competition in every generation (except maybe the Fifth Generation)

Had plenty of great games.
Multiplats were almost always worse though, which sucked.
Barring the capcom 5 which were designed for the cube.

>All the le epic contrarians saying Wii was shit and had no games
>Implying you weren't just as impressed at Wii Sports as everyone else at first
>Implying MadWorld and Boom Blox and Skyward Sword (game itself is shit sadly) didn't prove that motion controls could be awesome
Suit yourself, I still play Wii games on occasion. Boom Blox was a huge favorite for my friends and family and me. Not my fault you fags hate fun.

Sony doesnt win anything except shittiest consoles, controlers, and online every generation

Name some good Wii games that aren't Mario Galaxy or Xenoblade and keep in mind the GameCube has the best version of Twilight Princess.

>Metroid Other M
>Tales of Symphonia II
>Twilight Princess

Adding to the list of good games

See Also, they had a great online store

>Other M, the game that put the series on ice for a decade
>Good

Why isn't it liked? It had everything

...

TP is on the Game Cube

I thought the PS2 was stronger than the DreamCast.

Twilight Princess (fuck you, it was widescreen, motion controls were fine, you exaggerate everything)
Dong Country Returns
Wario Ware Smooth Moves
Wario Land Shake it
MadWorld
Galaxy 1/2
Metroid Prime 3 (and trilogy)
Wii Sports Resort
Boom Blox, Blox Bash Party
Pikmin New Play Control
NSMB Wii (great multiplayer)
Kirby Epic Yarn
Punchout!!
Okami
RE4
Super Paper Mario

>people defending motion controls itt
Shit like this makes me sick

We're all ready.

>when you're so anal annihilated that people having harmless fun makes you sick

>Worse than the N64
By what margin?
>Air Ride is dope tho
Never mind, just shit taste.

>body
PS2.
>clothes, weapon, and hair
Dreamcast.

I thought the way they were implemented in the original No More Heroes was fine. Buttons were combat, remote direction changed the height of the attack (IIRC), waggling for charging (which was a joke in itself) and actual sweeping motions used just for finishers and wrestling moves. The little touch with putting the remote to your ear during phone calls was a neat gimmick.
