Second Encounter HD doesn't have the sweet gravity rooms because reasons. That's about the only real gameplay difference.
Either is good but if you have a toaster laptop you should probably run the originals due to the sheer load all dose enemies are going to be on HD.

As I recall buying HD gets you classic for free. As for which one you should play, I have to actually recommend the classic way. No proper widescreen is bad, but damn I missed the gravity rooms in HD. There's a bunch of little 'it's not like it should be' moments too, but the gravity rooms were a huge loss.

You need to grab the Gold Edition to get both the classics and the HD versions, and the HD versions give you access to the respective games in SS Fusion.
