Playing this gem right now

>playing this gem right now
>about .5 second lag
>people keep shooting at you if you pick up the sword
I thought this would have been gone by now...

By people do you mean teammates?

Also just wait for backwards compatibility like everyone else. Is it true that it's all squeakers all vahalla all day?

Halo games are mediocre and only praised because muh exclusivity
Destiny is the proof that Bungies was never a good developer

Experiencing one right now.

This kid right here gets pretty annoying. Started a verbal fight with some other guy right now. Keeps saying stuff like "I'm gonna scream if I found out who took my (insert weapon).

Why wouldn't you play H3 in the Master Chief Collection?

Cuz I'm a poor fag.

What map you on?

Weapon-travel the guns he gravitates towards off the map if you can. They won't respawn if they're not used IIRC

MCC is really glitchy

Bungie is shit now, but Halo was a masterpiece. Campaign was really well done, in a shooter best AI personality wise and 2nd best gameplay wise after FEAR.

MP was fun and balanced, and the community wasn't the worst.

>literally glasses half of Africa

Is he, I daresay /ourelite/?

YES.

>DLC for all the 360 games is free
>Backwards Compatibility is coming for all of them
We don't deserve Uncle Phill Spencer. Only way to top this is to let OG Halo 2 join the BC program with servers back.

yes, yes he is.

How the fuck do you do that? We're in a playlist (partied up) so we're switching as the playlist goes on.

Why not the Halo 2 anniversary? It's superior in every way.

>3 won't be ded anymore when it gets BC
So hype lads. Especially better the dlc's free.

They need to release it on windows store

>giving 343 money for shitting all over the series and ruining literally every aspect that was enjoyable
no

but Halo 2 Anniversary has a few futuristic tweaks in it that kind of (dare I say) change the nostalgia.

>have two weapons already
>go next to weapon you want to weapon travel
>look at ground where you want weapon to drop
>hold the pick up button (was right bumper IIRC)
>walk while looking down, weapons should switch to and fro until you hit destination

Play Halo online. Look it up. Its f2p Halo 3 without microtransactions. There are like 3 servers running constantly for Americans.

But yes I'd love to see the original Halos on pc

MCC's multiplayer is unbearable, no clue how people suffer through it. At the very least splitscreen is a hell of a lot of fun.

Ohhhhhhh. I see.

While I adore the graphical tweaks my real gripe is that barely any of the multiplayer content was remastered, so the most of 2's multiplayer gameplay is through the shite Windows Vista port.

There's also Halo 3 mods for Halo Online

You seem knowledgable and /hg/ ignored my question, so whats the best starter? I'm guessing its the rof BR or DMR, but not sure.

Can someone share a pic of the population on Halo 3? I was thinking of getting Xbox live again to play it but I'm not sure if it will be worth it

Personally I prefer the BR, it's just the way it feels for me. The DMR is a bit more powerful, & precise if I recall.

Wait for Halo 3 to become bc on xbone in a few months. Population will skyrocket for a week, that way you'll maximize your nostalgia fill.
Yes, you can play against people on xbone if you're on 360.

do they have plans to make it backwards compatible?

I feel like that would split the halo community when their trying to make people play their shitty "master piece" called Halo 5

Its been officially confirmed.

www.express.co.uk/entertainment/gaming/829268/Xbox-One-Backwards-Compatibility-Xbox-360-games-list-Microsoft

Yes, it's confirmed. It's coming sometime in fall along with Halo CE Anniversary, Halo 3 ODST, and Halo 4.
>WHERE'S MUH REACH
Already bc
>Halo 2
Probably whenever og Xbox emulation is added

I've got hopes it'll stay high long. People all over have fond memories of it and Black Ops 2 is STILL in the most popular on Xbox Live since it was added. I hope H3 can reclaim its former popularity because holy shit it's fun.

It'll be in 3 stages.

Stage 1: Nogastalgia burst- this will actually be the most played game on XBLA. I'm not fucking kidding. Will last 2-3 weeks.

Stage 2: The crucible: The biggest drop in playerbase. Many will see it as dated and move on. Others (myself included) will stay with it. should still manage multiple thousands of players at all times. Should last for about a year after release, or until the release of Halo 6/New xbox.

Stage 3: Slow death
After a while, people will get bored and move on, especially with the new xbox and new halo. The game will slowly fall back into obscurity.

It's like 362.

I'll be riding all of them out as long as I can. Halo 3 is a fucking masterpiece. While it doesn't have the best campaign of the original Bungo trilogy imho, it is THE pinnacle of console multiplayer f and no one can prove me wrong.

*console multiplayer fps

>now

Same designers, same developers.

True that. Theres no denying its the best console MP ever made. What always baffled me about Halo 3 was how the community managed to be so good.

It's a game in which you can literally kill your teammates for power weapons, yet it has better communities than games like MOBAs that actually ban you for toxicity.

The main people who worked on Halo either left during Destiny's development or after it released. While DUDE THE DEVELOPER DID NOTHING WRONG PUBLISHERS RUIN EVERYTHING LMAO narratives are too common we know too much about D1's development for it to not be the exact case here. Everything shit that happened was basically all (((Kotick)))'s fault.

People get old, people get complacent, people lose touch, people try new things that are out of their comfort zone. It was already showing in Reach, don't see why its so hard to believe.

you'd be right if that was actually true

Kinda sad RvB became edgelord incarnate by 3. It was still mostly funny but the Freelancer storyline completely fucked up the hilarious tone of the first 2 game's machinimas.

I stopped watching after Halo 1. Can someone give me a quick rundown?

Also I'm not suprised, Roosterteeth itself has kinda gone down the shitter.

I agree. I remember back in middle school, I used to be obsessed with it. I even remember making the "We are the Meta" engraving on a table. Hell I even have that "all time best ever DVD". Looking back at it now, it was cringy. I wonder how they got Elijah Wood to voice an AI.

Instead of just keeping it a comedic show through and through RvB basically evolved into shite Halo fanfiction that's gone on for far too long. That blame can be attributed to the dumb desire to make Tex as important as possible for whatever dumb reason. It took out a lot of the comedy.
Kinda sad because I wholeheartedly think the first few seasons are some of the best comedic content ever made for the internet. It's like The Simpsons. Complete gold early on but it's clearly overstayed its welcome.

something tells me you're a kid too

Meant for

>I wholeheartedly think the first few seasons are some of the best comedic content ever made for the internet

the first ten episodes

THEN all the characters flanderize to ridiculous degrees

The counters have been frozen for years at this point, they aren't accurate anymore.

It was a product of the time.
You'll never experience a community on console as good as the one in Halo 3 back in the day. On the PC side, I don't think you'll ever see a community as good as Runescape's was in its prime.
I'm just glad I could experience the golden age of online gaming

The flanderization is obvious but I don't mind too much as it still kept being funny. It all went to shite for me when it started taking the story seriously.

Never played OSRS. Can you give me a quick rundown, because from what I heard its 90% scammers and trolls.

Current OSRS servers are shit and will never be as good as Runescape a decade ago.

In its prime, Runescape was fantastic.
>300k people playing on a friday night
>people running around doing quests, asking others for items for said quests, asking each other what to do on quests instead of just looking up a guide on youtube
>socializing while skilling instead of just being an autismo worried about min/maxing exp
>fun conversations with strangers, unique people instead of seeing memes everywhere
>simple combat
>ridiculously addicting game
>ran on my toaster computer (low detail)
>memorable music fuck you I like RS music
>not forgiving if you were a retard
>taught you how unreliable people can be irl (scammers, etc)
It was a glorious game. I can't put it into words. If I could go back in time to 2004, I would waste my life away playing Runescape again even though I know it was all going to shit a few years later.
