Have you ever had your shit "hacked" or fucked with online before Sup Forums?
The worst I've ever experienced is getting ddossed
Have you ever had your shit "hacked" or fucked with online before Sup Forums?
Have you ever had your shit "hacked" or fucked with online before Sup Forums?
I must have done something stupid because a russian used my paypal once. I am not dumb enough to fall for obvious scams and several scanners found no positives on both my machines. I got the cash back and changed all relevant passwords, but to this day I don't know how they got it
You can be as safe as you want but that won't stop idiot web designers from storing your passwords in weakly encrypted databases which get broken into all the time either via inside jobs or external intrusion.
Yup. When I was young my friend got his steam account hacked. I messaged him unknowingly and the guy using his account sent me a link telling me to check out this account he wasn't using. After signing into the account through steam, my steam account was "frozen" or "disabled" or something. Had to call steam and get them to let me access it again. After he got his account back he kept the steam bio the guy had. He said it was funny to him
had my WoW account hacked by someone in china a couple years ago. No clue how they got in or even why they would want to.
Stopped playing wow for a year once.
When I tried to play again, my password had been changed.
When I recovered my account and logged in, whoever stole the account had maxed out my professions and farmed a ton of gold.
Pretty good experience.
Fuck. I had 5
never been hacked ever
only been ddosed once
Good news - no pwnage found!
Yeah, if people understood that hackers use that kinds of methods they would start using multiple email accounts for different things and not repeat passwords ever.
You really need to use throwaway email accs on sites that dont have the money to have good security.
Someone stole my Minecraft account but I got it back. I also had their email so I send them gay shit when I feel so inclined
Some russian kid bought my Origin account, I use a password manager and unique strong passwords everywhere now
sites that dont have the money to have good security.
It's not like Adobe or Sony are tiny companies.
They could have all the money in the world, that won't stop them from cutting corners or being generally incompetent.
The punishment for failing to secure password data should be far more severe than it currently is.
good news! No pwnge found
Get hacked by the Chinese in WoW
Get account back
Shitload of free farming and gold
No never. I guess im just not a fucking idiot
You bought a key on G2A with your paypal, didn't you?
same here. fucking retards in this thread.
my roblox account got stolen but i got it back
randomly typing your email or username in to websites and submitting the data to them when its not absolutely necessary
HURRRRR DURRRRRR HURRRRR
Your steam account has been accessed from a new location the login included your correct username and password
Good thing I use unique passwords. The only breach that really got me worried was the Teamviewer one, I haven't reinstalled it since
I had some faggot get into my system and open/close my CD drive a while back. He'd randomly send me messages in notepad, too.
Nothing malicious, just some harmless fun.
the website is fucking bullshit, stop typing your information in to sites like this darwin
changed email password to some password i used 10 years ago on a web hosting site
said web hosting site convieniently gets hacked the same week
changes my email password and recovery questions
lucky for me the email was made on
aolunder a supervisor account because we used to pay for it so i was able to change it along with the recovery questions through my mothers account
this was also before AOL had 2 form authentication
chinese hackers change all my passwords
they try to get into my paypal that was never confirmed and has no money
tried getting into my bank account
stole armor off my runescape account and tried changing the pass because i have 160m
changed my wallmart.com password even though i never used it
signed me up to a whole bunch of websites
its been 2 years and they are now sending me fake appleID messages saying my account has been locked and i need to reset it. Ive never used an apple product.
Fuck the chinese. They just want my runescape money.
What they gonna do, mail me? Kek.
Got a bitcoin miner from some bullshit I don't remember. It'd spike GPU usage the moment I stopped moving the mouse and when I did the drivers crashed, and trying to play games was totally pointless
being this retarded
Some dude from Poland broke into my spam box email. I only found out because the only email in that accounts book is that accounts email so he spammed the account from the account. If he had left it alone he might have been able to find out how to reduce his debt or grow his penis by inches overnight.
unless you are using it to sign up theres no reason for you type your email in anywhere.
The one time I ever got runescape membership my account got hacked. I got some of that elite black armor that looks pretty cool but isn't expensive and then a couple days later my password wasn't working. When I reset it all my valuables were gone, which thankfully wasn't much at all
You sure about this? I tried my two trash emails and it seemed pretty consistent with websites I made accounts on
the more places you enter your email, the more places have it, the higher your chances of getting breached are. Stop being fucking retarded
I still don't know how it happened (I'm fairly tech/password conscious) But I had some fucker from Kazakhstan sign into my steam a couple times. I can only assume he downloaded a ton of games and then set the account to offline mode, I don't leave my card info or anything on my account so I don't think he was after that
He didn't touch my account's trade/items either. Still have no idea wtf he was doing.
one time someone was selling north face jackets on my ebay account
idk how that happened
contacted ebay and changed my passwords, had no issues
also one time someone used my debit card to buy itunes gift cards digitally and other digital shit
drained my account but my bank reimbursed me
didnt really inconvenience me too bad other than having to wait for a new card and didnt lose money
I once had Chinese gold farmers access my long-dormant WoW account, add a month of game time, and immediately get caught by Blizzard. I basically just got a free month of WoW out of nowhere. I don't think I used it.
I think I always avoided G2A, but I'm not absolutely sure.
I know one of my old passwords is on there, from the mangatraders unsalted hash database (fucking stupid)
Well, end of the story was they bought something off ebay for like 10 bux, I send out emails to paypal and the seller a couple minutes later, got the money back, and the seller never sent the wares to whoever it was. I still have the email with the name and address.
Apart from some time, I didn't lose anything, it was just an annoying experience
source: your ass
It's a collection of publicly available (to some degree) breaches and just lets you search them safely.
If you want to verify what it says you can go find the same breaches and search the databases yourself.
woooow duuude didn't know that.
that site is safe but don't tell to anyone, it's a secret.
lots of sites are safe, but the less you type it in, the safer you are.
This is the antivirus/antihacker software known as "common sense". Feel free to tell everyone you want. Because everyone has common sense, right?
What the fuck are they going to do with your email?
The site that people are saying check on already has it, and relaying to you that it does. Oh no!!!
Sup Forums and personal security knowledge do not coexist. Just a bunch of tinfoilers rolling around screaming.
i had a wow break mid tbc or something, and got an email from "blizzard" who wanted me to log in to the website.. and i fell for it, i was like 16 and retarded.
since i had no sub though, nothing happened. i just changed my password back again.
Not memeing or anything, but I had a gold seller YEARS ago take over my dormant account, but I decided to play again, upon my discovery I immediately alerted Bliz GMs about all the shit in my account, they thanked me, and then let me keep it.
I had literally whatever the maximum was back then on that account, IIRC it was 1,000,000? This was Cata era I believe
A girl once sexted me for months so she could get a leadership role in my EVE Online corp and empty the hangars then leave wordlessly
That's about it. Somehow this is metaphorical for marriage.
I lost a bunch of PP in USFIV, due to comms errors that people induce.
Lost a bunch of items in RO before, had a bunch of OS's I had to reinstall for no reason. Some of the time it's just malware other times there is nothing wrong whatsoever but it decided to stop working.
Been introduced, exhibited to, and humiliated by botnet.
And a bunch of console nonsense like Xbox Live and PSN.
What the fuck are they going to do with your email?
The more places that have it. The more places there are where it can potentially be retrieved illegally. All hackers need is the email to get started.
guess common sense isnt so common
Maybe he just wanted to play video games, it ain't easy being kazakhstani
Someone from china tried to log into my gmail once, but they never got in
Most women I've encountered do not
Classic femme fatale, I bet she was hired by a rival corp
of course i don't type my mail everywhere, that's why you use a trash mail for shit.
Good luck following that rabbit hole.
If you have gmail you can double entropy with their + shit.
DA will accept it, and gmail will redirect it to [email protected] So people can't even reverse lookup your account without know the garbage after the +.
I do this on all my important accounts for that exact reason to avoid reverse lookup or something like "this email is already in use".
There was this really weird period in my life where I guess someone was just really obsessed with getting into my steam, but I use a password safe and let it generate my passwords, so even if they somehow got in, they didn't really do anything because ALL of my accounts had different passwords, and I never save my credit card credentials into anything.
Yeah, got hacked in both gw 1 and gw 2, some cunt just bruteforced my password once. The other one was far more sinister because I had a good password. Returned both accounts too. One of my old emails got bruteforced as well, but anything of value has been severed from it a long time ago.
it was capped at 999k so yeah. nice
Your fault for giving a woman anything
That's honestly what I figured, I didn't actually alert steam, just changed my pass. Maybe he got to download a couple games and play them.
get free shit
How beta do you have to be?
Just learned about this right now
...How long as gmail had this? I don't even recall seeing a notice of this in all my time using it since the closed beta.
You are fucking retarded, this site is run by Troy Hunt, who might not be the most known security guy, but at least it does exactly what it claims to - searches public email/password database dumps of which there were many recently.
And a special fuck you to the "muh common sense" guy - if your common sense is telling you that something bad would happen just because you have submitted your email alone, that's not common sense that's retardation.
You can easily mitigate that by generating unique passwords for each site you use.
never been hacked before
my password is my date of birth
you're all fucking idiots
my password is my date of birth
you're all fucking idiots
does not compute
Some guy probably has had a keylogger on his pc past 5 years and he just happily goes on with his business.
Ignorance is bliss.
Someone hacked into my Ubisoft and Origins account and played a few matches of Siege and BF1. Email was never touched, these clients should really have a check for new computers that log in.
Only once in my memory. Someone with a Russian IP tried to get into my steam account. 2 step authentication kept them out. Nice try Ivan, not that my account has any money or cards on it anyway.
I recently switched to a password vault myself (KeePass).
Was a little rough at first but now it's no inconvenience to me, especially after learning of its autotype feature.
This is called tagging and has been a part of email standard for fucking ages, not just gmail.
buy unique domain
make every login its own email address
you're secure for life
someone would have to specifically target you and know your exact random made up domain
Russans get my old as dirt Yahoo account ( chances are from yahoo being hacked )
They then try to breach into my gmail account.
They tried for like 3 days before giving up
I'll admit the mail gmail kept giving me was spooky, but I ended up recovering the Yahoo ( they never delinked it from allowing gmail to get the recovery message ) and after they tried for a few days to get that again I never saw anything of the like since. Was last year or so.
I've been DDOS'd twice by a angry 12 year old jetshitter and their gang of Free Roam Deathmatchers and some faggot in GTAO because I was counter-jetshitting a jetshitter, basically because I was in a jet.
I should just be like them and DDOS anybody I don't like online because I reported this federal law breaking shit and nobody gives a fuck.
Just put your faith in Google
Unless you're also spooked of the government trying to hijack your steam games.
Someone russian got into my Origin account. Seemed to use it for a few days, only played battlefield 4.
I just phoned EA up and got the account back, was nice of him to level up for me. Turned on 2 step authentication etc after.
login to battle.net account
"there have been 15 unsuccessful login attempts since your last login"
They both added two step verification recently
Do you use that domain as receive only? Because being blocked by every major providers is a huge pain in the ass.
have battle.net account hacked
They Mail me a freebie authentication key and get me set back up
someone actually stole my minecraft account and changed the password, didnt give a shit since i hadnt played minecraft for a few yrs, still went through support and gave the original purchase recipt and got it back so eh
Some Russian took one of my twitter accounts and used it for like half a year as a bot. Still don't know why.
Somehow someone got my battle.net many years ago. Was easy enough to recover.
A year or so ago I was constantly plagued by phishing attempts against my Steam account. Fucking Russians.
My wow account was stolen once. Took my gold from main and 1 alt and cleared one tab from the bank. Blizz got everything back and I added authenticator. Most baffling thing was that the tief didn't check the bags in my bank that were filled with some really valuable stuff back then, like unbounded Tabard of the lightbringer and gorillion flasks and herbs.
Because I knew I'd lose said free shit and my entire fucking account if I didn't retard
Okay, so people who got their MMO accounts "hacked" or whatever like how exactly did that happen? Did you have your date of birth as a password, or "What's your favorite animal" - "Dog" as a security question or what? Genuinely curious how does that happen to people.
someone once hijacked my origin account somehow years ago. Got it back with no problem, but now my name on there is some queer lithuanian jibberish and I can't change it because they set the perosnal questions for it in runes.
My pw was pretty obscure, didn't use any shady add-ons and all that stuff. No idea how it happened.
I bought gold in RS when I was little, had my magic armor set stolen a month later. I don't know if it was related though, I wasn't stupid enough to share account details anywhere.
My steam account after ignored it until tf2 was released. Contacted steam support, changed password, got called a fag by one the guys hundreds of erps. Spent 10 minutes deleting people from the friends list.
kazakhstan seem like a weird ass place. I've been fapping to their women on camsites and they're all super nice about it
I use one very long password for everything and add an identifier to the end (ex. '<password>forechanne' if I were making a Sup Forums Gold account)
It has never failed me, it's of a length that isn't bruteforceable
In my case (Vindictus, lost all my money, endgame gear, and any gear that was popular for fashion and thus also worth lots of money), it was because Nexon's website had trash encryption and a lot of their accounts got compromised. But then they never e-mailed me about it, so I didn't know until after the damage was done and I happened to login one day months later.
why is it stereotypical for russians to do this?
what's the endgame of a ruski?
had my steam hacked 8 years ago. within 24h i had it back, no vac-bans, no nothing, the only thing the hacker did was play 1h of cs 1.6
I do this too. It's fun when I have to remember the identifier for a website I haven't used in years, but the system usually works out in the end.
Normally what a hacker does is they grab a database full of encrypted passwords, buy a shitton of graphics cards, and tell the GPUs to work with the CPU to try brute force or dictionary attacks. If they succeed, they usually have your username, password, and if they're lucky, your email address. Then, they try the email address/password combination into something else, because 90% of users will use the same password for everything.
I don't know why they don't jump straight to your email address though. Maybe because most emails alert your phone if you log in with a strange IP/OS, so they stick to lowkey things like your MMO account.
seems like you could easily get fucked with a breach, if someone found adzadwxc1234chan or adzadwxc123reddit they'd probably try it with other websites
my facebook got hacked by some thai dude who turned it into his profile but I only use fb to look at shitty meme pages so didnt really care
it's like bike stealing, low reward but extremely low risk
No human will ever look at your password in these scenarios, only scripts that auto-attempt them on other popular sites.
do whatever you want, live fast, drink hard, and hope you die young because you live in a third world shithole
the life of a rusky
I remember playing runescape one night, and after getting off at around 1 am in the morning, my phone buzzes with an email. Email basically said an unauthorized "device" (didn't even specify what kind of device) had accessed my email account from Hong Kong. Chink used my email ONLY to change my runescape password and nothing else. I just changed it back but whoever it was had already taken everything off my character.
pwned 21 times
I use the same two passwords for everything for the past 15 years
Never had my paypal, bank account, steam, etc broken into.
Some fucker got into stole my steam account like a year ago, I was able to get it back within a few days. After that I started using a password manager, and bought a cheap android phone so i could use two auth on most of my important accounts.
It seems like it would be easy even for a script
If your password is made out of english words, it's not as unbrutforceable as you think.
If it's a very long string of random characters that you managed to remember then good for you I guess.
Mangling your password is still better than blindly reusing them everywhere, but you might as well move on to password managers, because what you are doing is literally security through obscurity. If some shitty site stores your shit in plaintext and gets leaked, your secret is out. And well, if this trick is popular enough, it will get added to a standard list of things password cracking tools try. For example, people used to think that doubling the amount of words makes your password longer and therefore more secure, like "cockcockloverlover420420" and now checking for this behavior is an option in any password cracking program.
Some chinks broke into my WoW account. I found out after 10 years of not playing and thought it was quite funny because a GM was able to restore my shit back to normal in 5 minutes.
my wow account was taken over by a chinese gold farmer, but while i wasn't playing, so when i came back and changed my password i had a free druid with muchos gold and matts
Because price difference, 100$ worth of virtual shit is a lot more over there than over here.
using a hackable program to store all your passwords
8ch*n ddosed me once when I was probably like 15 and shitposting there and the mods handed out my (thankfully dynamic) ip.
t. Am 22 now
That places sounds like a shithole lmao
Haven't been hacked yet but once checked my hotmail's access attempts thing and found a bunch of entries from china trying to hack my email. Fuck china
/g/ has these threads all the time and there's always a tinfoiler like you
Access is the #1 weakness of any form of security. If someone for example has access to snoop on your use of a program, or tamper/gain access to files that would otherwise be secured by it you have bigger problems.
What do you mean "hackable"?
If your pc gets compromised, they'll have your passwords anyway since you either type them from memory and that will get intercepted with a keylogger or store them in a browser, most likely unencrypted. This is not a defense against that, this is a way to easily generate passwords with high entropy that you don't have to remember and don't get fucked by websites that leak your data.
A guido took my old Xbox Live account.
put hundreds of dollars into digital games
the only thing he ever played was UFC Undisputed for about two months, then never touched the account again
How is it possible for you to have been 15 on atechan and be 22 now
Didn't it blow up in 2014
Only one site: Snapchat
I don't have a snapchat
who's using my username?!
There was a retarded oversight on steam that is probably still not fixed. When someone tries to initiate voice chat with you, steam hands over your ip to establish the VoIP connection before you accept the call. Script kiddies can catch the connection and your IP and then DDoS you. This alarmingly immature sack of shit in a group I'm in who somehow had access to a botnet decided to do so to me for several hours for shits and giggles.
Point out the exploit and the retards will comically flock in to blame you for it.
I got fucked 1 time and it was my own fault.
Got a call from a 1800 number saying they were my cell phone provider and that there would be outages in the morning the following days. They wanted me to verify that I was the owner of the account so they sent me a text message with a code. (This was to reset my password). I was stupid (was in the middle of playing a game, but hardly an excuse) and just read it back to them robotically. Right at the last few characters, I realized what was happening and hung up, but I had already said the entire thing.
The next 2 hours were a battle over securing my account and removing names they were changing and adding two-step verification. The managed to get into my Paypal and tried to send $300 to another e-mail, but Paypal luckily didn't allow it to go through.
Once they had access to my account, they were able to use an online service through my provider that lets you view text messages, so they were able to reset passwords at will. It took me a long time to convince my cellphone provider to remove the service from my account.
Spent the remaining hours of the day resetting and adding 2-step verification to anything they could fuck me over on.
It was an awful day due to me being a dumb ass for 12 seconds.
It blew up then but it existed a lot longer
Are you retarded? Brute force time is directly related to the length. cockcockloverlover420420 is infinitely more uncrackable than cocklover420 because it's 12^36 more possibilities.
someone tried to scam my mom. called her up claiming to be a friend of mine and said I was in hospital and to send money.
they got laughed at and told "anon doesn't have any friends"
Wanna know how I know you've never cracked a password in your life and are just talking about things you've heard here and there?
Jagex censors your password!
Check it out ******
Look up "dictionary attack"
I have a degree in Computer Science and you're some fucking retarded NEET on Sup Forums.
Hmm... it's not there. Guess we have to bruteforce it. :^)
got pwned on battlefield heroes
No, I have the degree and you're a NEET.
t. random fucking person who can say anything
You're not even trying anymore.
Anyone who's not baiting and is actually interested in dictionary attacks could look up the word mangling rules of john the ripper to get a general idea of how much security doubling the words or replacing "i" with "1" adds (spoiler: very little)
he's changed his argument to go from doubling the amount of letters to simple Caesar ciphers
lmao thanks for the ez internet argument win, makes me feel good to start my day with
No problem bro, have a nice and productive day.
Not vidya related, but, according to Facebook, I had some fucking gook in South Korea reactivate an old FB account I'd closed years ago a month or two ago.
Back in the day I was retarded enough to willingly fork my Gaia Online password and she got off Scott free with all the good shit out of by account, served my dumbass right for falling for that whore. Now all my passwords are generated and keep them in KeePass 2
My important e-mail used only for credit cards and bills and shit has more hits than my throw-away spam filter e-mail that I use for seedy sites and shit
I had my Neopets account hacked by a friend. He guessed my Hotmail password and stole 600k~ in neopoints and several map pieces.
Did you kill him?
He doesn't know it was invented before even the Japan Time snafu
Pretty sure it started around 2007 or just late 2006?
no pwnage found
I'm pretty paranoid and learned from my mistakes. Got two throwaway emails too, one of them is clean too and the other has got only one.
He confessed after we had all jumped to RS classic and he gave me some stuff there so it was OK.
Last week I was playing overwatch and some dude was able to get my real name. He also told me in game what youtube video was playing in the background. Havent played ow ever since
Nice honeypot lmao
Masturbating to furry porn one day
Steam bleeps at me
"I thought you stopped playing WoW."
I did. Why?
"You're logged in right now."
They send me of a screen shot and I am indeed in-game.
Try to log in
Account has a security token now
Log into trash email that I used to register the account
Bunch of e-mails from blizzard about account recovery and shit
Half of them in chinese
Get back in to my blizzard account
Check the account information
Still has some poor lady in oregon's credit card on file
Clicking around and I figured they probably got into my email first then saw an opportunity with WoW. Wasn't a huge deal for me. I didn't put anything private on that blizzard account and the email was used for signing into shady sites anyway so none of my info was at stake. I found it mildly interesting and entertaining than scary.
No, closest I got was giving a guy I'd known for like a year a secondary account password to help me mule some shit in D2 and he tried to log into my main account several times immediately to get my shit, then dumped my mule shit on the ground in the game and deleted all the mules to spite me and deleted me. Game didn't expire so I just had to sit around for like an hour and a half in that game waiting for my friend to get out of classes and home so he could help me get my shit onto the characters again.
GTAgaming database breach
no, i've never been... WAIT, YES, JUST NOW MY COMPUTER IS BEING HACKED AND TONS OF CP IS BEING DOWNLOADED THAT'S NOT MY FAULT, I'M BEING HACKED, OH NO, HELP HELP
Wtf even is R2 games? I don't remember them but apparently they fucked up bad.
Once my debit card was used for buying Israeli online porn. (I was there for a month and probably did something stupid)
yeah in maple story. Someone would dos me so i couldnt log in
You dont want to use a cc on random foreign stores, they will scam tourists who aren't going to come check on them after they go back to their home countries.
people unironically thinking they got DDoSed
One time someone got in my Kohl's(clothing store) account and ordered some sexy lace lingerie. I called to cancel the order and got my money back but it shipped anyway so I got free lingerie. It doesn't fit me though. So I put it on my dakimakura.
wow haha, what a fun quirky zany thing to do, as expected of weird weaboos :p
I once copied the wrong garbage file and lets just say i ended up saving the world
never been hacked before
Sup Forums brainlets incapable of reading? no wonder you get hacked so easily
Only had 1 pwned. I don't even remember going on MPGH but it was probably around 6 years ago.
When I was a kid I felt for Mu Online Chaos Dragon Axe, Chaos Lightning Staff or Chaos Nature Bow scam ingame mail.
They got all my gems and my good itens.
Someone accessed my ebay acc
Just write your passwords irl. The only risk is if someone goes in my room and sees it
I got my phone hooked up as verification so they'd need that to do ANYTHING
What do you suggest on having a good passwrod, hm?
Use a password manager program with its own pw you store on a piece of paper somewhere.
Guaranteed easiest option for everything.
mate, was that fucking joe rogan
Somehow, my WoW account got hacked years ago. Guild member text me with message "Your goblin is in Dalaran selling all the guild's items". I had full access. Needless to say, I was never allowed access again (guild did get everything back). A guild member bought me one of those authenticators.
Someone found my facebook years ago, but thats because I put my name and town on the given fields in Steam like other quasi-normies.
It gave me a good spoop, but lately I've gotten really paranoid about web security. Despite being basically computer illiterate for a few years before wising up, I have so many skeletons left in my closet and I can't keep track of them.
I've managed to close duplicate e-shopping accounts, but I'm having a lot of trouble with forums right now.
got a email from Blizzard thanking me for my purchase
I had made no purchase
apparently some Chinese hacker accessed my account
didn't sell any of my WoW gear or gold
didn't do anything harmful to my account
didn't access credit card or try to use my payment for anything
he actually used his own money, to buy game time for someone else through my account
I changed the password and switched to mobile authentication to be safe, but I was more confused by the methods and motivations behind what they did. What kind of money laundering shit happened? I still don't understand
Same. It's almost funny.
That's exactly it. He used a stolen credit card on an account that wasn't his to either buy it for himself or a friend or someone on the internet that went 'Hey, Ping, want to make five bucks?'
not having a password that's at least 5k characters long
not changing your password every 10 minutes
not using a separate email address and provider for every single account
not exclusively using touchscreens so keyloggers can't get you
not driving to valve/blizzard/etc and using their computers to sign into your account for that extra bit of safety
it's like you guys just WANT to lose your accounts
Valve is the company that lost its entire source code for Half Life 2 to a 14-year-old German script kid, I wouldn't consider their computers secure.
Same, about two years ago, I kept getting multiple email notifications in succession about me requesting a new
Always spooped me, but I don't worry that much since I turned on two-step security, which isn't perfect, but is better.
I've got like 12 different times my shit has been leaked apparently
my runescape account when i was 13, used my lastname123, got hacked by a mexican who bragged about taking my 3mill gp at lunch.
try to log in to my old ass email account from 02
manage to guess the password
Account locked indefinitely because of extreme suspicious activity
I got jewed out of that unique email damn it.
Chinese breaches my google email. But it was a widespread attack, they got into the account from within. No losses.
Also made a mistake letting a "friend" see my password for an mmo once. He told other people and took the account over. No losses, it was a private server.
No, but I did shit that I got out off by saying I got hacked. Back in the days it was a get free out of jail card.
I had my WoW account taken over by gold farmers. They used my account to hold money so I went from like 10k to over a million during BC era. Not even counting the misc. materials either. The oddest part, though, was they didn't use my paladin to farm, instead they made a new hunter, so I had a damn near level capped hunter on a different server from this too. Had I waited a day I'm sure it would have been level capped.
Not vidya related, but I also had my CC info stolen. I told my bank about it and they reversed all charges within the last 5 days from when it happened, including the times I ate out during my vacation.
It's nothing really.
be moderator on biggest local gaming forum
get bored from the site because it's always the same shit and always the same attention whores
go to online cafe
start messing with people and the site in general
get banned and rights revoked
head admin calls me on phone to see what he fuck I'm doing
say I wasn't home at all and I don't know what's he talking about
tells me what happened
tell him I have no idea how that happened
try to log in with old password
tell him I can't log in and must have been hacked
next day he restores my account
get mod position back
he explains to the rest that was hacked and now I'm back
