How long until Steam goes full Netflix?

How long until Steam goes full Netflix?

>how long until steam charges a monthly fee to stream movies

probably never

Two years at most.

>implying networks won't offer channel subscriptions inside of steam

This is what they're doing instead of HL3 btw

I watched the entire John WIck Chapter 2 on pornhub for free the other day. Its still on there in full HD.

nice, loving it

Honestly I think it's utterly ridiculous that steam sells music and movies, the platform was build for games since the begin but that retarded in command is greed as fuck and decided to do that shit.

And this is just beta testing, wait until they go full Apple store and the whole experience is catered to the movie/tv/music industry.

What's wrong with that though, the games will still be there, they're just branching out.

>streaming media
enjoy those crushed bitrates since they need to save every drop on bandwidth costs

Did you jack off to it?

John Wick sucks desu. Unbelievably overrated.

Steam is already the Google Play store with how much shite is on there, so why not?

Can you stream movies to friends on steam?

I just find it sad to see Valve die as a video game company and just become an app store, but that's just me.

I understand that a company needs to make money, but doing so at the cost of what originally made them so great is always a bitter thing to me.

thats exactly why i know steam wont go streaming

They may start offering more media outside of games but i dont believe we'll ever see a netflix/spotify competition with steam

John Wick 1 is awesome and clearly made with love for the genre, John Wick 2 is just a cash parasite of 1.

Yeah, its impossible for Steam to offer both services at the same time right?

its just impractical, they are better served with downloaded media like theyve been doing the last decade

how about they are selling movies so that they won't die

They want to get the 30% tax on everything that touch a PC. Luckily steam os was failure but anyway everybody else is doing the same thing. (MS, google, apple)
