The greatest visual novel ever just got released on steam, why aren't you playing it?

The greatest visual novel ever just got released on steam, why aren't you playing it?

How's the Engrish?

nigger i read that shit years ago

Is that MuvLuv? It's on Steam now?
Baller.

Anything new? Besides a touched up translation?

Muv Luv KS guys are taking their sweet time but hey, at least there's progress.

>Alternative is literally still not out

Why did you do this to me

Call again when evan is alive with KimiMuv part 6

Isn't that only for KS backers?
It was said in the mail that rest of the people will have MLA available in September.
Also:
>switching gears to Vita release now
Finally my little weeb machine will get ML+MLA.

Backerkit codes are up and functional, Steam release later today

How much?

>2017
>EOPs STILL can't play altered fable
>they're STILL clawing over scraps and getting excited for re-releases of shit they've already played
So this is the power of idiocy. Whoa...

Muv-Luv sucks. One of the few things I regret spending time on.

>turboweeb spergs out one last time before he has to update his tepid bait pasta
lel

When is Muv-Luv coming out for Vita? Wasn't that one of the plans?

Whoops my mistake, public release in september as the other user said

Is there a version for tablets out yet? I want to get into VNs, but I feel I'd enjoy them more if I could sit on my sofa playing them.

Waiting for my physical vita copy my nigga

soon

Nope, most are still designed to run on like fucking XP computers so japs are way out from making tablet friendly proper VNs. The closest you can get is all the artists for VNs moving to making big bucks drawing cards for mobile games.

Because I played it half a decade ago. Yuuko did nothing wrong.

woah woah
what
I will throw down $100 right now if I can get me some muvluv on vita.

Imagine being this fucking guy. Being this excited for a scaled down version of a game, with content removed. And wanting to pay 100 bucks for the privilege.

I hope you get kicked in the nuts by a mule, you waste of meat.

Who gives a shit, muvluv on vita. The ultimate VN machine, I don't give a fuck how watered down the ports are I will still pay a premium to play them versus having to go through a billion roundabouts and applocales to get it to run.

I played it years ago. Still waiting on more of the side stories to be translated.

Imagine being this mad that someone wants to play a game on a different platform than you.

Pick one, fuckers.

>I will still pay a premium to play them versus having to go through a billion roundabouts and applocales to get it to run.
Yeah, clicking install is pretty difficult, I can understand why kids today can't deal with all that hassle. Maybe one day they'll dumb it down for you.

I couldn't give a shit about someone wanting to play the game on Vita, the idea that he's so pumped he'd pay 100 bucks is just pathetic.

So you complain about the vita port being watered down but think the gored and censored steam version is fine? lel

I got excited for a moment.
Well, september is close, and honestly I'm getting too much on my plate anyhow with my switch having got here just last week with splatoon 2, zelda, sonic mania and shovel knight.

I think I remember hearing somewhere that alternative is as long or longer as ML+unlimited combined.
So yeah it's getting an entire week or more dedicated to it alone.
Yes, I'm one of those people that reads at the same pace as hearing it spoken.

Still downloading it I was waiting for Alt to get released to start rereading Extra and Unlimited.

They fixed it but there's an option to change it back.

It really isn't that good. You have to read two underwhelming at best VNs to even understand it, and even after that it's just a bunch of underdeveloped redshirts you don't give a fuck about dying all over.

So what's up with muvluv? where do I start?

>a bunch of underdeveloped redshirts you don't give a fuck about
I disagree.

>but think the gored and censored steam version is fine?
No, I'm talking about the original release. You put a disc in your drive (or mount an iso), and click install.

That's it. That's the entire complexity. If you need a translation, I guess you have to click install on another box too? So 2 clicks, wow, I get why you'd pay 100 bucks to skip all this hassle now.

Pic related is still useful aside from the steam version being out now.

CHOMPED

Alrighty then.

I choose to sit between Meiya and Kasumi

Thanks love

hey look someone posted it so I don't have to.
>HURR JSUT CLICK INSTALL
retard

I already played it years ago and no way in hell I'm replaying it with how long it is. It has too many slow parts.

Alternative is very long, but no choices or different routes.
Enjoy the ride.

The American weeb in the back.

does it incorporate the extra scenes from the console release?

I remember playing the trilogy in 2011. Good times. Truly made me feel like a pro weeb mounting VNs for the first time.

I'd rather play some RPG Maker hentai shit than VN. At least i dont have to press just one button on it

But that's not Monster Girl Quest

>>>HURR JSUT CLICK INSTALL
>retard
Yeah, my bad, it's even less complex than I thought. You don't even have to click install the first time, you install the game through the patch.

Literally all you have to do is click install. I'm sorry that you're too stupid to mount isos instinctively or follow basic, on-screen instructions, but maybe you should get past that failing at some point instead of just crying whenever met by a scary menu that forces you to read 10 whole words before hitting next.

The one who doesn't die.

I fucking marathoned the entirety of Alternative in like 3 days. I felt a souless husk when it was over, I'm still chasing for that high.

It is based off the console release, so yup.

...

There's like 3 of them.

>Best girl not even present

What a shame

>just got released

What? I thought it was on Steam a long time ago already.
The fuck they took so long for?
But yeah I will probably give it another read eventually. Maybe after the fanstranslated spinoffs.

Cropped CGs. Don't know if they cut tracks from the OST again but I wouldn't put it past them. And obviously this is the all ages version.

To be fair, all the all ages does is remove the nipples, the scenes are still there.

>Cropped CGs
>From a game that was already originally the same aspect ratio.

>actually wanting porn in mub rub
this is one time the all ages release is actually better.

>all ages version.
I'll never understand how this bothers anyone.
MuvLuv's H-Scenes were never amazing.
I usually just found myself skipping over them.

The CGs from alternative weren't 4:3, there's no need to crop.

Wasn't this supposed to come out at the beginning of the year? Either way I don't think it's out yet for non-backers. Kind of wish I backed if only for the english translated codex.

Is this a good VN? I've heard amazing things but the time commitment is heavy.

The H scene with the one with glasses in Extra and the alien gang bang are the best ones

I'm more worried about the guro stuff. The console CGs really didn't do it any justice.
I see. Been a while since I played it.

you picked chiduru so your taste is automatically shit

But Dies Irae already got released in June.

alternative has choices, just no routes (really)

Is this really that good, or are you just memeing?

Last summer was the original schedule so yes they are really late.

It's still the highest rated one if popular opinion matters to you. It mostly depends if you get hooked on the story or not since it definitely has some pacing issues. Also a lot of people complain about the ending but I quite liked it.

There's also the fact you have to read through Extra first.

Gore isn't censored at all, it's one of the first questions they answered during the kickstarter.

I don't know how I feel about it. I fucking hate when shit is removed in a game, but I also hate that so many VNs have absolutely pointless sex scenes.

What the fuck are you on about, original release was widescreen as well, there's no 4:3 to 16:9 conflict this time.

It's good but also overhyped. Great OST, some really hype fights but also some really boring parts.

>Last summer was the original schedule so yes they are really late.
That's when the original came out. I don't think Alternative was ever scheduled to be released until several months later. Either way, it's still pretty fucking late.

it's bad. typical chuuni shit.

I like chuuni shit.
Hopefully it's not bad though.

It's better than Muv Luv, but that's not saying much, the whole series is overrated as fuck.

That being said, Dies Irae is the best chuuni VN out there translated thus far.

The chuuni VN to end all chuuni VNs.
If you have the mental maturity of a 7th grader you'll love it. Otherwise stay away.

This is why the steam version never bothered me, and why the all ages versions of most VN's don't.
H-scenes in these types are always mediocre since they're not made for them and I'm not reading them for the porn anyway.

Plus when you bitch as hard as some people do about its removal you're just reinforcing/confirming the porn with plot reputation they had long ago when VN's started getting the fan translations that started bringing them into the western light.

Some VNs do need the porn though, I'd say sexuality is a huge part of say, the Grisaia series. The whole story is lewd as fuck to the point I have to wonder why did they make an all ages version in the first place.

>I'd say sexuality is a huge part of say, the Grisaia series
The H-scenes are terrible though. Grisaia's primary focus is the humor, everytime they try to make drama or "action" scenes out of it (the heroines routes and the sequels) it sucks balls.

>better than muvluv
lel

What genre is this? I have a couple of VNs that I haven't gotten around to reading (bought them over a year ago, Narcissu and fault - milestone) but if there is no romance here I might be interested.

What are some VN similar to muv luv A, with great story, and characters?

And the humor contains fucktons of lewd stuff that had to be toned down for all ages. Might as well be a completely different thing.

no, baldr is not translated

sci-fi.
Yes there is plenty of romance. The first game is just a slice of life generic vn though.

mecha

It's not even an accomplishment, really. I honestly wish the whole series was half as good as Dies Irae, but having to go through 2 games and half of another (which is 50 hours) of shit to get to the good part is really bad.

>Nietzsche
>Secret nazi wizards
>Demonic arm
>First year philosophy courses
You mean it's all played straight? No infinite levels of irony?

I'm just gonna give you standard recs since this kind of stuff is pretty subjective

Kara no Shoujo
G Senjou no Maou
Tsukihime
Saya no Uta
Steins;Gate
Cartagra

Sci-fi, coming of age, post apocalyptic suffering simulator. It's the third part of a trilogy and the first part is a cliched rom-com so obviously quite a bit of romance in there that gets toned down later.

It triggers me how hard it is to find a no-romance VN/JRPG/anime. It seems neeps are obsessed with crammed in/terrible romance subplots.

probably never will be

Monster Girl Quest Parts 2 and 3
Part 1 is pretty good too but it's more porn focused

i do wonder why

Lewd bunny.

I'll sit between Kasumi and Yuuhi while Meiya is sitting on my lap.

but user you do know she is dead

Alternative realities, mate.
She was pretty much alive and well right at the end of MLA when 'Takeru' got home.
