What the hell should I play now? I need a MMO, to feel that unique joy and fun...

FFXIV is the best current MMO.

Is the lore/immersion any good?
I feel some instinctive rejection towards very cartoony or asian-styled games.

It's Final Fantasy, so naturally its very anime-inspired. I haven't finished the main scenario but have heard it gets pretty good from multiple sources.

Just make sure you have plenty of time to kill, there's a 3 second global cooldown between all your abilities. Just enough time to cast a spell, go to the kitchen grab a drink and be back in time before you're allowed to use another ability.

No its not a meme

WoW is still king

>"Top 10 MMORPGs of 2017"
>it's all chink, gook and nip shitty generic games

MMOs are dead. Don't bother.

Albion Online famalam

>no its not a meme.
Bitch stop lying. First of all it's 2.5s, that makes a shit ton of a difference. secondly it doesn't take the huge amount of oGCD abilities that are required to weave in, which is why it's so high in the first place. It's nothing but a fucking meme.

>Weave in to account*

whats the point of mmos

It is pretty long when you're used to abilities doing their thing a lot faster from other games of a similar nature.

It does feel better upon leveling up higher and getting most of your skillset. While I enjoy the game plenty, a lot of jobs do feel like shit low level. I main black mage and I hate being below 60, everything feels like garbage without fire 4, since the class changes to just fishing for procs instead of what it usually does.

Try Guild Wars 2.

Just wait a few years. There's literally nothing worth playing at the moment

OOOOOO RLY?

damn i guess i have to try it now

I for one didn't like it
The world was boring and generic

Even dubs agrees you can't deny kino wars 2 OP

Fuck

Well shucks, I can't argue with those digits. I think I'll give Guild Wars a Try. Thanks mate.

Everybody in this thread has to buy GW2 now.
The sexts will it.

...

God damn.

>>EVE Online
>ded to all effects
10k online players more than last 2 years, but if \v said so...

Downloading. God damn it. Maybe I'll finally get into it.

...

Didn't Albion lose like 80% of the player base already?

Shit guess I gotta play.

You are one sadistic bastard.

I guess I'll have to try it, too.

NUMBERS

God fucking damn it it costs 30 bucks just to play? Really?

put me in the screencap fampai

Fuck you, not gonna play that trash.

wasted get

Make way for the new king of mmos

Reminder if you are playing guild wars 2 avoid being a female charr

No, it's free to play with paid expansions.

Downloading right now

holy hell

Core game is free, new expansion coming in a month is 30, prior expansion is 20.

Prior expansion is only 20 if bought alongside the new expansion.

...

Absolute madman

>SJW garbage get
What a waste.

What a shame

youtu.be/HAMyoN695TA

...

more like Get Wars 2

it's still shit though

private server ffxi

what's a good one. i've been wanting to play the game again but the paid version is casual shit now

Breaking out a classic for your achievement.

Star trek online.

Space combat falls in between eve cancer and freelancer oversimplified so its actually good.

Plus its actually fun. F2p aren't punished at all by being f2p either unlike swtor etc.

No paywalls since you can turn the in game currencies into the cash shop currency.

Remember that old MMO you wanted to play but you never got the chance to? Go find a server for that game.

>FFXIV is the best current dungeon queue simulator
Ftfy

Also if you decide to play ffxiv and you're interested in engame content just buy an account instead doing the msq and the levelling slog yourself.

I play on kupo private server. best one i've found

Star Trek Online

Also has the best (arcadey) Imperial Guard simulator in the form of ground combat.

Which just makes it even better

>the closest we'll get to having an IG game is a star trek mmo.

>Implying MMOs are worth playing by yourself

Old dead mmos are some of the least lonely mmos I've played.

>Forced to spend weeks slogging through outdated and irrelevant content or pay an obscene amount of money to skip it
>The entire MQ across the base game + expansions is total garbage, overly long and has only a few outstanding moments in HW
>Even when you finally slog through it all and if you're not burned out and bored, you will need to spend weeks more gearing up for any serious end-game stuff
>Crafting is useless except at max-level and you will need to fund a huge amount of money levelling up any crafting profession to 70 and then even more to gear that craft up before you can start making a return
>Gathering is a dull grind and not worth it unless you intend to self-fund, but that isn't worth it without spending a year levelling them all
>PvP is shit
>End-game PvE is just raiding
>Nothing else to do

Face it, it's boring uninspired shit, just like modern WoW, just like any other modern MMO. The entire genre peaked years ago and is on a steep decline.

STO has minuscule bandwidth requirements and the story arcs from 0-60 play out like a single player game with pve's and pvp's for whenever you want to group play. Or you can play any story or found mission as a group ( which proportionally increases the 'difficulty')

If you like grinding, Guild wars 2.
There's something about this game that makes me come back every time after 5 years still

Shit...

Looks like I have to try Guild Wars 2 now for sextuple sake.

Not even a get like this could make me play this piece of shit again. I still feel betrayed for how they ruined everything that made the first one great.

>SWTOR

Is it? You would think due to all this Star Wars hype it's doing better than ever. I've been meaning to get back to it and try out the rest of the character story arcs I've missed out on, especially the Republic side.
