But does the game have a feature to keep track of what moons I have? This is important.
I know this is a shitpost but the reason why people disliked blue coins was because each individual coin only represented a piece of a whole shine. Hiding moons out to be found through exploration incentives the exploration while also giving an immediate reward for doing so. No returning to a vendor to turn them into moons or anything like that. The other thing is that unlike Sunshine, there are tools in game that both record the moons found and assist the player in finding them. Blue coins had neither of those, making 100%ing Sunshine a nightmare because you would have to remember which coins you had already gotten. We should only worry about moons earned like this is if they make up the majority of the moons in the game, which remains to be seen but I'd like to believe that they are not.
