Bows > Swords

Bows > Swords.
Ranged class > melee faggots.

Shooting from the distance is always better than being a melee-only """warrior""" who needs to come closer to even do something.

>game has caster classes
>retards are still using pure warriors or archers instead of at least going battlemages or magic archers

Guns and Bows revolutionized the war and completely dominated against knights and other charging faggots.

>use a bow as main weapon
>have a shortsword and buckler as sidearm
What now, OP?

>making hybrids in video games
>newfriend still didn't learn that hybrids are 99% shit tier.

Yeah ranged weapons are superior but in video games limited ammunition makes ranged weapons a chore to use.

But which type of sword?

>retard calling others "newfriends" never played in baldur's gate where dual/multi were so ridiculously overpowered they completely shat all over single classes
>never played in any other good rpg like Underrail with great hybrid potential or arpgs like Dragon's Dogma
Begone.

Katana and whatever that thing is on the right. Some Meso-American weapon?

>dragons dogshit
>good

hahahahaha look at this newfriend and laugh

>edge: 10
seems about right

...

>not having a european longsword and a side dagger
plebs and their katanas

>not having enough weapons in stock
>not using swords as arrows

>having no original ideas

Yeah. As it turns out obsidian is fucking sharp. REALLY fucking sharp.

>godlike ranged hunter
>shoots anyone from any position
>retarded swordcuck has to run closer to even have a chance to attack
>uses his charge ability
>based archer can just blink away and continue to humiliate swordcuck who can't even move anymore because of his charge abilities on CD

lmao

>Some Meso-American weapon?

Yes, a macuahuitl. They were basically combinations of clubs and swords that Aztec and other groups used: They were cricket bat shaped wooden clubs of varying lengths and thicknesses that had obsidian razors inserted on the edges.

It's got an edge of 10 because obisdian is absurdly sharp: Even obsidian knives or razors made using traditional techniques can be nearly monomolecular at the edge. So you not only have a super fine edge that's way sharper then steel, but you also have a huge amount of force and momentum behind it, way more then a sword, from the biggass club it's attached to, and then when it hits you can pull on the weapon and it tears like a saw with all of the obsidian pieces.

The drawback, of course, is that obsidian is a type of glass and beaks easier, hence the low durability (also because the base being wood, not metal). That being said, even if all the razors break you still have a giant ass wooden club to bask skulls with, or more typically, to use to incapacitate (using the flat facesto strike with) rather then kill your enmies to collect them as captives to sacrifice, since almost all mesoamerican sacrificees were prisoners of war collected for that purpose.

The Spanish were scared shitless of it (though they praised most native weapons and armor in general as being suprisingly effective despite the technlogy gap, and even switched over to native composite fiber armor, but they were especially impressed with the macuahuitl in particular) as well.

obsidian is really sharp but the weapon as a whole shouldn't get a 10 because it would never cut completely through a target, whereas some of the other swords could very easily

the edge might be sharp but it's still a wooden club one inch deep

...

Do they have one against a human jelly? A horse seems a bit much.

I wouldn't say that, because the obsidian edge will make the intial laceration, by the time the wooden face actually hits the target behind the obsidian there's already a sizeable wound, and then you have the massive force from the club hitting behind it.

The club would just tear through/bust open the laceration, if you got a solid hit on a limb I imagine you'd just cut and break through the whole limb at once due to both happening in tandem.

>Baldur's gate
>Not going 6 wild mages roster.

Jesus why

Wild mage is too much of an rng fest to bother with them over cleric/mages.
>go through a huge encounter
>wild mage MC surges near the end and instakills himself
naah

They used a horse because a few (not just one) Conquistador accounts said that a horse got decapitated by one in a single hit, pic related for instance.

Seems hypebolic, but given that more then one account mentions it and that it overall only took 3 swings from the show the gifs are from to do it, I could imagine that the larger two handed version of the weapon, if the conditions were right with the horse running by and the momentum carrying it, actually getting almost or "mostly" decapitated by a single hit:

Even without a edge, something moving a thigh speeds and hitting into a big wooden bar made of strong woods will get greviously injured from it, after all.

>The club would just tear through/bust open the laceration, if you got a solid hit on a limb I imagine you'd just cut and break through the whole limb at once due to both happening in tandem

this would only be true if an giant ogre was wielding it

flesh doesn't not give so easily under blunt force, I would give it an edge of 7 at best

>Want to kill the wolf
>Accidently summon a demon

FUN
Time to download baldur's gate again.

It really just depends which ever the game makes less boring.

>flesh doesn't not give so easily under blunt force,

We are discussing it hitting an already 2-3 deep deep large laceration user. There's ample accounts of it hacking off limbs easily, let alone more impressive stuff.

Zweihänder

>try to kill assassin in the centre of a city
>wild surge: gate

>not using 2h mace or axe

Swordcucks, everyone

People like melee because there's more skill involved and it's more reactive. People that play missile classes first in a game are huge pussies in real life that don't even hit the gym. Shooting is about running away like a faggot, and why would I play a fantasy game and role-play as a skinny faggot who runs away the whole time when I could be Arnold from Conan?

>cuts your hands, because that thing is full of spikes
lmoa

>not using iron gloves

Fucking amateurs

>People like melee because there's more skill involved and it's more reactive

PFFHAHAHAHAHAH

You know that sword/warriorfags are the dumbest class/people, right?

>using any protection at all
Heh, amateur

>not using fists

>t. low-skiller ranged faggot.
Enjoy role-playing as a pussy that runs away.

magic > all of that other shit

It's probably an exaggeration, they saw the horse with a deep wound on it's neck and said it was decapitated, either as hyperbole to get a point across or because people tend to exaggerate when they see something unexpected(such as a wooden club making deep and grievous wounds).

How to spot shit taste.

this. Also, most intelligent class/people. Most diverse as well.
