Mass Effect: Andromeda

>Mass Effect: Andromeda
>Yooka-Laylee
>Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite
>LawBreakers
>Sonic Forces
>ME Shadow of War
>SW Battlefront 2
Biggest fuck up of the year nominees. Who takes it?

>>Yooka-Laylee
>a fuck-up
Uhm, sweetie...

probably andromeda

Either
>Lawbreakers for not having enough players to fill a single match only 2 months after release
>SW Battlefront 2 for creating such a horrendous PR disaster that governments are actually considering creating new laws to restrict how fucking greedy and evil they are
that said BF2 will still sell so I've gotta give to Cliffy on this one.

Battlefront 2 for shitting on it's fan base.

what was the original video the gif is from called again?

It was the second biggest game on kikestarter next to Mighty No.9. When it came out people who gave money either hated it or thought it was medicore and took all the bad game design choices from older collect-a-thon games instead of updating them for the new and old audience. Also fired a e-celeb who a few people only donated to them because of him because he said bad things about other races even though he is a minority.
Its a fuck up hon

>Mass Effect: Andromeda
Killed off ME for at least 5-6 years and destroyed the Bioware branch involved with it. Not the worst game, but disappointing.
>Yooka-Laylee
Wasn't terrible, but was a bit underwhelming and not as good as some of the other platformers that came out later in the year. Still wouldn't mind a improved sequel though with more content and less bullshit like the Casino.
>Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite
Probably killed off the franchise for awhile due to all the Marvel movie tie in bullshit and lack of X-Men/Disney being shitheads.
>LawBreakers
Pretty much Battleborn 2017, will probably kill off the developer next year.
>Sonic Forces
Killed off the positive reception that Mania gave back to Sonic and probably killed that particular style of games. Will probably cause Sega to re-evaluate how they handle future games AGAIN.
>ME Shadow of War
Bunch of poor PR tactics and single player lootbox for a average game. Won't kill anything and will still sell. Not the worst game.
>SW Battlefront 2
Went too far with lootbox stuff and is now possibly forcing legislation, as well as the wrath of Disney and possibly shaking up future SW games with the company. Will still sell despite everything.

My vote is between Andromeda and Battlefront II. When EA fucks up, they fuck up big.

Either LawBreakers or Butterfront, no contest.

Mass Effect for killing a franchise that still had potential.

Battlefront 2

Honourable mention to Ys VIII PC.

...

ME:A
>Fucked up so bad that it turned one of the biggest normie-core franchises into a walking joke. Bombed so hard that EA cancelled the whole series.

SW:BF2
>Took a surefire franchise and managed to jew it up so hard that they not only did less than half as many sales as the original, but also spawned multiple investigations into regulating lootboxes.

I honestly can't chose between the two. Its been a great year for EA, hasn't it?

Why not start a thread about good games that don't get enough attention? You could give them more exposure, and in the process, be less of a gigantic faggot.

>>>/resetera/

Mass Effect Andromeda. It had a huge budget and development team, it took years to be made and yet it looks worse than a low budget PS3 game.

>LawBreakers
Nobody was hyped for this game in the first place except from the creator itself.

You faggots haven't even played the game. Even with the shitty animations it is easily the best Mass Effect to date.

>e said bad things about other races even though he is a minority.

You're saying because he's not white he can't be racist?

Did I miss something?? Why is BF2 getting legislation?

t. One of the eight remaining players of ME:A

>easily the best Mass Effect to date
Can you at least try harder with your troll baits?

Lawbreakers is a functional game but released in a time where the genre is already saturated with other games

Starwars Battlefront is the biggest gaming PR disaster in over a decade but the game itself is functional and not terrible.

ME Andromeda on the other hand has zero redeeming qualities. That game fails at everything it tried to deliver. It is by far the worst game of 2017.

Awesome post friendo! Crying about the Sup Forums boogeymans sure added to the thread!

Nah this game sucked

Mass Effect is such a corny series. But Andromeda at least tried to be science fiction and tackle a sci fi story that isn't OMG END OF THE WORLD WHICH WE CAN'T EVEN DO RIGHT MORALITY

>andromeda fails in every way
I actually really liked the premise of the game waaaaaay back when we first started hearing about it. Fuck shepherd guys, let's go colonise a whole new galaxy with entirely new alien species and squads? Fantastic idea. I want an andromeda remake that sees bioware's full dev force and funding working for years, tearing down andromeda and restarting it from scratch.

Sonic Forces for me because as a qt year Sonic fan this is the shit that made me never want to buy another Sonic game again

according to the logic of the people who took offense for people they've never met, yes.

Were you gone for the last month?

People crying about lootboxes so hard newspapers and legislators heard.

>that one copy of Forces all alone

Any criticism you can levy against Andromeda the rest of the series does worse

Mass Effect 2 does side missions better but the entire game relies on side missions

>worst game
Mass Effect: Andromeda

>biggest fuckup
SW Battlefront 2

>What The Fuck Were They Thinking Award
Lawbreakers

>Nexon
>CliffyB
>most generic visual design in existence
>needless SJW pandering
>directly competing with Blizzard
It's a miracle it sold anything at all.

You faggots could be given a kilo of gold and you'd complain that it wasn't shiny enough

too bad the game itself was trash with insultingly bad writing, annoying characters, rubber mask aliens and an endless stream of pointless side quests

Probably Battlefront 2
>Competent fun gameplay compared to first
>Shitty EA jew practices
>Massive backlash by community that caused Disney to put foot down
>facing legistlation against practices all over the world

Runners up are lawbreakers for being a less BADASS(tm) battleborn and Mass effect Andromeda for being the sonic 06 of mass effects

>any one of those games
>gold

Sounds like every Mass effect game to me if you're gonna generalize that much

The West.

I absolutely agree and I fucking hate it ut you got to admit that the idea was sound

Good tits, okay face

They had to remove him, game company's can't associate themselves with racism. Why do you think Disney stopped all association with Miley Cyrus when she was going through her wild child phase? From a business standpoint Jon Not-your-nigger Tron had to go. They get shit for it now, but had he stayed in the game you can bet your sweet ass that the internet and le ribbit would be up in arms about it.

It's SWBF2, no contest.
Single most downvoted reddit post and inspiring talks of international regulation against its business practices make this game a historically large fuck up.

I still can't believe people fell for the "AHCKTUALLY GAMES SHOULD BE MORE EXPENSIVE BECAUSE INFLATION" shill.

>They had to remove him
No, they didn't.
The only people who bawwwed about him having such a peripheral presence were never going to buy the game.
Jontron isn't even a racist, but I guess that's besides the point for you.

If it was any other game I'd agree, but since it's ME it was obvious it was a cheap cop-out to avoid haning to deal with ME3's ending.

More importantly, they never had a proper game concept.
>vampires in contemporary society
is a cool concept, but when turned into a game, you may end up with VtMB or DARK, a game you've probably already forgotten about.

Lawbreakers

at least every other game had some sort of fan support :^)

A Hat in Time has a Jontron character they didn't remove.

>They had to remove him
Tell that to A Hat in Time devs.

A Hat in Time had Jon do a guest voice and that game sold fine and got alot of praise from many gaming outlets. Only the usual suspects on social media and Neogaf(rip in piss) were saying they would boycott the game.

I-I-IT DOESN'T COUNT!

FUCK OFF /PO/

>>Mass Effect: Andromeda

It flopped but apparently it did money for EA even if it technically killed Bioware

>>Yooka-Laylee

Mediocre but not a flop

>>Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite

Apparently it shipped 900,000 copies and it's getting more characters/support

>>LawBreakers

Yeah, a flop but nobody cared

>>Sonic Forces

Same as above

>>ME Shadow of War

Not a flop even if it deserved it

>>SW Battlefront 2

No contest, it fucked so hard that the government stepped in

SWBF2.
>Mass Effect: Andromeda
Everyone who isn't a bioware shill already knew it would probably suck.

>Yooka-Laylee
Wasn't actually terrible, just wasn't good.

>Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite
Bad, but a normal level of bad.

>LawBreakers
Close second, but there wasn't a ton of hype for the game in the first place, and it just sort of quietly fizzled out like most games do instead of having any kind of large backlash or outrage.

>Sonic Forces
People only care so much about forces being bad because mania was actually good, which got people's hopes up despite forces and mania being made by completely seperate teams.

>ME Shadow of War
The game itself wasn't even bad, just some of the stuff around it.

ME is a series that fucks up just about every game.
ME1 has a great story, but its gameplay is pretty meh tier and it's story telling isn't the
best either.
ME2 has a meh story, but rather good story telling. So much focus on characterization and side plots that the main plot feels secondary. It's gameplay is more streamlined, but it lacked the actually okay elements of ME1s gameplay.

ME3 was basically the same issue: shit story that was quickly rewritten, gameplay was, at least to my memory, better than 2s...but overall it just lacked. It had a ton of good character moments like ME2 did, but it's main structure was so lacking that it couldn't keep itself up purely on those character moments.

ME:A well...it tried. I'd say it was a better attempt at "open world" stuff than DA:I did, but the combat was basically shit and the story was awful. Hell, the character moments (a staple of the series at this point) were basically pure shit.

On paper, ME:A was merely a critical flop, which is why they dropped support for it. No one is going to buy more content for the game, so there isn't any point.
However...it sold well. Slightly less than 3, more than 2.

Lawbreakers and Shadow of War are good games, though. Shadow of War even sold well so idk what you're on about

SoW sold less than its expectations given the info they gave shareholders. But I doubt it didn't break even.

#skilledAF

There's also the money from lootboxes to factor in for people who actually went through with that nonsense, which as someone who has beaten the game really is completely optional.

I like Shadow Wars because it gives the Nemesis system an actual endgame and purpose this time rather than just a really cool feature

MVCI is a great game you faggots

Hard to decide between Lawbreakers and Battlefront, but considering Battlefront is going to lead to anti-lootbox legislation, I think I have to go with that one.
How bad is it when your game is so awful that politicians want to make laws against it?
How bad is it when your game is so awful that big daddy Disney has to call and ask "yo what the FUCK"?
How bad is it when your game is so awful that Sup Forums and Reddit can actually agree on something for once?

>Apparently it shipped 900,000 copies and it's getting more characters/support

Shipped != sold.

>arguing with Sup Forumstards

Doesn't matter

Capcom makes cash with units shipped and costumer sales are usually close with shipped ones

Andromierda takes the cake!

its shit you memespouting nigger

Sonic Forces for sure

>Battleborn was 2016
what the fuck

Could someone edit this with more games from the OP list?

There need to be separate categories of fuck-up.
>financial
>most broken
>disappointing

Yooka Laylee is the biggest fuck up, I don't even know what the others are even about so expectations couldn't have been as high.

Three actually

>sold out already
hmm
