"supposed to lose" boss fight

>"supposed to lose" boss fight
>you can actually win if you're really good

Did this in Demon Souls, it blew my mind.

that image seems familiar.

your mother?

Dippers?

uma

your dip madam?

>party members can give you items mid-battle

>"supposed to lose" boss fight
>game stops bosses health from reaching zero

...

>its a mandatory lose boss
>use all healing items and buffs

>"supposed to lose" boss fight
>you have to die a certain way for the sequence to continue
>otherwise you get a normal game over and have to restart the "boss fight"

>"supposed to lose" boss fight
>you can actually win if you're really good
>nothing special happens for doing so

>you automatically finish the game if you beat the boss you're supposed to lose to

Wut game

>Supposed to lose boss fight
>You can still win against them and win some of the most powerful things you can get in the game
>Still have to fight them over and over until you lose

YOUR FORCED MEME MADAM

Disgaea 2. This can happen twice in the game from what I remember.

The finest tobacoo dipped in dead niggers ass.

I think FFII does this for the intro fight
Throws you back to the Title Screen if you win

>doles
>you can dipper them

Probably any game with branching endings and new game+ or chapter select.

YOUR

DOLE

DEAD

i don't watch television, is this like a frozen banana in chocolate or something? seems like it wouldn't be very good as a room temperature treat

Doug Jones

>"supposed to lose" boss fight
>you can actually win if you're really good
>you then collapse from exhaustion in the following cutscene and the story plays out exactly like if you had lost

Crono Trigger

SRW:OG did a decent take on this. Three bosses in an early game stage, objective is to run the hell away. Beat them and one of them breaks fourth wall to say this isn't how the story goes and bribes you to keep quiet. Story then proceeds as usual.

i'm so fucking sick of forced bullshit

>you could actually win if you were good
>game forces cutscene where characters say enemy is "too tough!" even if you're keeping your health up and chipping away at the enemy's nicely.

>Boss is way above the strength curve previous bosses have been on.
>"oh this must be one of those fights you're supposed to lose"
>It's not.

>character's HP goes to 0 in boss fight
>they keep fighting with one last burst of strength

>cutscene is you losing anyway

RIP
Galuf

Beat me to it

I hate it when that happens.

Exactly. The one character I cared about

Meltys Quest does this.

>boss does stupidly high amounts of damage to your entire party
>no group healing
>realize you're supposed to lose
>game over

>you were actually supposed to grind for an hour

Dole Dippers Penguin >>> the atrocious wojaks this board produces
This cannot be refuted

Lufia 2. The story even changes if you do.

Can't wait until some autist combines them

How?

Dragon quest monsters joker 1

Near the beginning you battle this guy who has really epic monster. I beat him once. The game just continued in the exact same way.

I am?!

Tales of Symphonia. In the Tower of Salvation, you must beat the first boss, can beat the second(although it is difficult) and must lose to the third.

The first time you fight this nigger in Lufia 2 and

what is this meme?

>"supposed to lose" fight
>Lose
>Shortly after theres another boss, even harder than the last one
>You are supposed to win

Your (you), user

I think you can beat Squall/Leon in KH1.

>beat last boss
>get okay ending
>wake up from dream night before the final confrontation
>do additional shit that unlocked
>fight last boss again, with another phase and truly defeat it
>get better ending

2007 Sup Forums related

>diamond boss
>made of karots
>chocolate boss
>made of cacao

Fucking Forbidden Memories

These Sup Forums memes just get worse and more forced by the second

YOUR KEEKI DIPPERS, MADAM.

You totally can, he tells you you are pretty good but Sora gets too tired and faints. You get a fair amount of exp tho.

>team mate heals by throwing food at party members

This isn't even Sup Forums, this is just Sup Forums.

I know you are shitposting with your forced meme, but im sure there aer several games that do that, pity I dont remember any of them right now.

I'm pretty sure Disgaea has that.

...

>health falls below zero
>keep fighting and win
>super excited to tell friend about it
>"you can't die in the tutorial dude... wait, your health fell to zero in the tutorial?"
>immediate embarrassment

I really want to make 10 dole dippers thread right now but I'll get banned fuck.

>final fantasy explorers
>fighting aberrant Odin
>he won't stop fucking spamming ZANTETSUKEN
>mission forces the "no revive" condition
>get fed up after 20+ tries and google the fight to see if anyone else is stuck
>"just add [immune: instant death] to any equipment piece and spend the whole fight getting free hits while he hopelessly spams his now worthless move"
>mfw this simple bullshit it what i was missing

>You win the fight you aren't supposed to win
>Cut scene shows you losing anyway

>beat boss you're not supposed to
>mc: I won?
>boss is kneeling over
>gets up says he was just pretending and would never go all out on someone like you
>walks away without kicking your ass.

>last boss is just standing around in the first town like an NPC
>you're supposed to talk to him as part of the story
>if you kill him instead, game goes right to the end scene

>game gives you access to an INSTANT KILL item
>you can throw it at the main antagonist in the beginning of the game
>it doesn't work
>"well that's bullshit"
>realize the item doesn't work on the undead
>get to the ending when you finally fight the main antagonist
>"ACTUALLY, I'M UNDEAD"
Fucking Divinity 2

No joke, this sounds just about the same as fighting Gooper Blooper in Sticker Star without the Sponge
Fuck you, I preordered it and waited two years for it so I fucking played it entirely.

Dole Dipper is only good when it's topical.
If someone can work it into a thread in a way that makes sense it's clever, but if it's just posted at the start of every thread to force it it's lame.

gae?

Tales of Destiny gives you an alternate ending.

>supposed to lose boss fight
>you win
>plot allows the game to acknowledge your win while still having a way to continue whether you win or lose

>You can't beat the boss
>You aren't supposed to lose
>You are supposed to run away

Lavos in the "Break the Seal" chapter of Chrono Trigger

>deliberately lose against tutorial enemy at the beginning of the game
>get given the best armor and weapons in the game

Not sure if I'm liking this Donkey Kong reboot

>"supposed to lose" boss fight
>win
>boss gets pissed and blows up the planet
>credits roll

Fuckin' lisa

Which fight?

Never played that game. Was referring to Disgaea 2 fight with Laharl.
Also

>"supposed to win" boss fight
>lose
>boss gains newfound confidence and sets off to take over the world
>credits roll

what game does this?

>eject the game disc
>enemy AI disappears and they become a punching bag

Pic related. There was one move you had to be hit by. Dying to anything else was a normal death

And then in Lufia 3 there's 2 fights against Gades that you're supposed to lose. Winning gets you a really strong sword and shield that make the early/mid game pretty easy

2worlds

Buzzo if you hack the game to make it possible to beat him during one of the decisions

Zestiria, but it's a bad end.

this never happens

>beat enemy you're not supposed to kill
>calls you a cheater and gives you a game over

>boss you don't know you're supposed to lose to
>use item that lets me use Earth 2, a move way above my level
>boss uses earth 7 and insta KOs every party member
>mfw

Candy Kong?

>fight you're supposed to lose
>win
>boss does a cutscene final attack
>game over

Second phase of the Senator Armstrong fight, but only if you're playing on Very Hard or Revengeance.

On lower difficulties it's just an ordinary "supposed to lose" fight.

>study hard and start essay ahead of time
>professor calls you to her office after class and accuses you of plagiarism.

...
