How were you guys introducted to the series? I remember watching a Kenzan trailer all the way back in '08 and getting interested in the series. After finding out that's not what the series was about, I was disappointed. I did end up buying Yakuza 1 and 2 and playing them, that's when I became a fan. I'm just happy to see how far the series has come, getting yearly releases seemed like such a ridiculous concept but here we are.

I rented Yakuza 1 on the PS2 when it first came out. Loved it even though the dub was cringey as fuck. Never got to play 2 when it came out because it wasn't available to rent anywhere near me and it never went down in price for me to buy it. Bought everyone since with the exception of Kenzan and Ishin. Even found a sealed copy of Yakuza 2 for 50 bucks.

I was over at a friends house in 2012 and saw he had a copy of some game called Yakuza 3. I asked if I could borrow it, even though I didn't know what kind of game it was. Now Yakuza is one of my favorite game series.

People wouldn't stop posting threads about 5 getting localized and someone posted emulation settings for 1 on top of the cigarette Heat action and some stuff from Ishin. Ended up giving 1 a try and played for like eight hours straight before realizing I messed up the casino substory and couldn't 100% it anymore. Ended up buying 1&2 HD and Kenzan last year and have had a blast ever since.
