Are you retarded?

Common sense

Common Sense 2017, soon to be updated to the 2018 edition.

This. Also Advanced Systemcare by Iobit.

They're both individually great, but they don't like each other and give each other false positives. Once you give them the goahead on each other, then your computer is basically impenetrable.

This

Avast
You never know which one of these game torrents has adware or that shit even the ones with like 5000 seeders

Bitdefender is the most thorough by FAR. It has some pretty annoying real-time protection that can mess with your shit if you don't disable it though.

Common sense of course but it doesn't hurt to have something installed in the background because everyone has derp moments. Avast just werks (on silent because those ads are fucking annoying)

>sword + widesword + longsword
deletes a lot of viruses in one go.

Free Avira, but above all these
Been Avira for years and never really had any problems, but that's probably also because I know to not download shady suspicious bullshit

Some of the worst viruses I've ever caught were from ads on a legitimate news website

Yes Ublock Origin isn't a conventional antivirus but definitely recommended

why would i choose to use a rootkit?

that kid's got a cool tv

The video game anti virus

>i use common sense

None.

Its not 1996. We go to roughly the same sites every day. They don't serve viruses and have a great deal of incentive to keep things clean on their end.
They might serve malware and such through ads, but the vectors for infection are so tiny, the performance hit for AV hasn't been worth it for years.
An ad blocker and noscript is fine.

probably the best meme here.

noscript was ruined though
it does nothing now

People who say this shit are fucking retarded.

I just make restore points before every install or once a week.

Common Sense 2017 Home Edition

Works on firefox.

no it doesnt, because of the new firefox update, it's literally useless now

Oh really? I haven't updated yet so it still works

i dont use one. i dont get viruses.

>i use common sense
>*pirates video game*

its been updated i think, it didnt work when i just upgraded to the newest firefox and then noscript updated itself and now it works like before. slightly new interface though.

I don't get viruses, I am viruses.

None, it's not hard to avoid getting viruses anymore and if I do get one raping my PC I can pretty much just wipe the hard drive, my hentai collection is backed up on flash drives so all I'd lose is some time re-downloading games and shit.

Ublock and not clicking on the monkey's ass to win an I phone 20

how would you know?

you don't need to click anything anymore, not with mining scripts
you need a script blocker

windows defender

None since 2008.

Adblock / uBlock Origin
NoScript
Sandboxie

there, you won't ever get viruses again in your life.

I don't understand why people think all these people cracking the games are just excited to give free games and not hide bitcoin miners that only run when the game does in them. People on the internet sure are nice.

Seems like a fair trade to me. :^)

>he's too stupid to notice a miner

That applies more to AAA than indieshit that only 10 people will play, though.

None on Linux.

unless you monitor the network traffic with the game running for a good amount of time and know what you're looking for then you'll never find it if the person who put it in there knew what they were doing.

I just set my AV to "Battletoads (U).nes" and haven't had any problems

Linux

Bitdefender free
>no option to add exceptions and ignored folders until it deletes the fucking file
>SSL certificate acts as a middle man and fucks up HTTPS connections uneless you manually install it into root authority and import it into browser which is hard to find a working version
>no way to recover some false positives
>works good when it doesn't shit it's pants over cracks/PUP/removing false positives
>great detection

Avast free
>slow and bloated
>crashes explorer CONSTANTLY especially using the start menu
>ads
>doesn't stop file lockers
>has actual exclusions and good settings

Take your pick

>you'll never find it if the person who put it in there knew what they were doing.
If they knew what they were doing, they'd be making money in far more profitable ways

unironically Windows Defender.

It's actually good on W10.

unironically actual autism

Windows Defender has shitty detection and protection and is also so common that it's targeted by even shitty malware. It's better than nothing but still not sufficient. Also who has automatic updates enabled on 10 and not disabled through GPEdit, that shit is unacceptable.

>having hundreds of thousands of bitcoin miners isn't profitable
They are probably making more than me and you combined.

>explorer

Windows Explorer. The file manager, the task bar, system tray. Not internet explorer.

My parents pay for Kaspersky so I just mooch off them.
It's shit.

This so much, an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure.

bitdefender is shite
avast is massively superior
avira is a good shout too for lower end systems or if you want the most minimal AV but avast is easily the best mix between bloat and functionality

didnt they just get banned? or is that some other kaspersky that got fucked bigly

Not allowed to be put on government computers and not sold at Best Buy anymore because of "muh Russians."

Why? Are you too retarded to use it?

latest malwarebytes is botnet

>ctrl + f Norton
>0 results

Never heard of a failsafe?

This, but god I wish it was less fucking annoying.
>quarantines all my cracks
>blocks my torrent trackers
>blocks legit websites
>if I turn off web protection, EVERY FUCKING TIME I start up my PC it asks me to turn it back on, no way to disable the retarded warning spam

First I've heard of this. What's wrong with it?

None. I haven't had a virus since I was like 11.
In 2001.

Gotta keep up that 'muh Russians' narrative, despite Vault7 showing us that anyone can fingerprint their hacking as someone else due to leaked CIA tools.

i used to use my dads norton subscription and its fucking trash. it thinks fucking everything i download is a virus and whenever you check the discription it says that its based on their shitty norton reputation system.

No fap.

How is AVG

Malware Bytes , Emsisoft, Avira, noscript, adblock plus and common sense.

Was good 7+ years ago, but kinda shit now.
Cmon Grandpa.

>adblock plus
enjoy your developer paid ads

>Kaspersky detects something
>GenericTrojan
>it's the one game I bought off steam
>fails to catch a fucking miner not even hidden in a CK2 torrent
QUALITY RUSSIAN SOFTWARE CYKA BLYAT

?

Malwarebytes has been the most inert antivirus I've ever used. It never scans unless I tell it to, it never updates unless I tell it to, really it just kinda sits there until I tell it to do something.

That's because you're using the free version. The paid one actively scans and blocks threats.

Thank you. I will.

GNU/Linux

Bit Defender

Well shit it sounds like you paid to be boned friend. I'd rather it just not do anything unless I tell it to.

try uMatrix then

Brain™

None, cause I'm not completely retarded and know that any "anti"virus is worse than any actual virus.
Also I got insider knowledge and know that the companies developing antivirus software are the same people spreading the majority of the malware on the net. Who do you think profits from sending you a virus if it's not a specific malware like a trojan?

Kaspersky

Any good gaming mouses out there in the 30-40 dollar range?

>paid
It's cracked, duh. The free version doesn't scan programs as you run them, so unless you manually scan everything you download you can still get fucked. Background protection is kinda important.

Nod32, that fucker goes above and beyond and molests anything being even a little bit shady.

What's best for blocking the hidden cryptominers on certain websites?

>It's cracked
I bet you steal games too.

install so many rootkits that the competing foreign nationals engage in arms race to get rid of each other so they can harvest your credit card and banking information for themselves

No, I pirate them :^)

I really only scan things I'm unsure of. No need to scan EVERYTHING.

my parents got swindled into Kaspersky thru BB when they bought their laptop, ive never seen a more bloated AV

>avast
>malware bytes anti exploit
>ublock origin

all you need senpai

Avast (formerly BitDefender until it fucked up my Grim Dawn install due to the stash mod injecting and hooking into the game).
Firefox 52.x ESR, NoScript, Spybot2 immunized host file (bloat and integration disabled), malware bytes for manual scans, ublock origin, HTTPS Everywhere, OpenVPN tunnel to a VPS to avoid Jewgle abuse and captcha lockouts), veracrypt for sensitive stuff. Sandboxie or VirtualBox w/ snapshots for untrusted shit.

Embedded trans-dermal radio device implanted by Chinese doctors acting as a deadmans switch and fake cyanide tooth. The payload is a 2lb satchel of thermite over my hard drives to get rid of my musky gaping loli kemono manko gore porn in the worst case scenario so it cannot be used to black mail me.

not downloading shadyporn.avi.exe

I haven't used one in a long time, the only virus I've got is the one I boot into to play games

Started using AVG a few years ago and I see no real reason to switch to anything else. I use Steam for most games, and rarely install misc software, so I don't really see where I would get infected.
