Undertale actually elevates itself above the other two by using leitmotifs effectively, which due to the absolute lack of any artistic depth possessed by the OSTs of mainline FF and Zelda games is all it takes to vastly outstrip the technical prowess displayed by their fucking trash composers.
I'd agree that you're fucking retarded
Undertale is unironically great when it comes to the OST, but most of people who put it on such lists don't really know why. As for others, I agree.
What would be your top 3 soundtracks Sup Forums?
>any western game
Take it back, faggot.
>'any western game'
kys
you can put witcher 3 or skyrim or something but signing off every western game is maximum pleb
Super Mario 3D World
Mario Kart 8
Cuphead
These are the best soundtracks
but botw's soundtrack is scorned by plebs
What a fucking pleb.
FF soundtracks are literally built around leitmotifs and were a major inspiration for the Undertale OST.
>top three
Literally impossible for me to answer d e s u
There's soundtracks I love because they fit the tone of the game and enhance it perfectly, ones I love because they're highly nostalgic and bring me a rush of emotion as a result, and ones I love because they are absolute showcases of the composers' prowess and far outstrip the average through pure artistic finesse.
Hell, I can't even list the three I listen to the most since they're made up nearly entirely of licensed songs and essentially just really good playlists and that's just cheating.
Doom 2016 for tone, Kingdom Hearts for nostalgia, Advance Wars for technological impressiveness, and Wipeout HD/GTA III/SSX3 for playlists.
Please, enlighten me on a good western soundtrack, I am sure it will be amazing.
OP is dumb. I do not believe he is baiting, just dumb and wants attention.
t. the only smart poster left on Sup Forums
They do a pathetic job with them, they are literally babbies first implementation of leitmotifs and never go any further than playing a specific song for certain characters/places and very rarely mixing a melody from one into another.
Not that user but Deus Ex. Particularly the first and HR.
>I haven't listened to any OST past IV: The Post: The Shitpost: The Official State of Sup Forums
You have to go back
>state opinion that you disagree with
>Hahaha he is just dumb , attention whore xD
Like clockwork.
>You will never enjoy hearing Hawx's soundtrack for the first time again
why live
Still not seeing any counter-examples :^)
Anything with Tim Follin
early crash/ratchet games
It sounds super nice, both the OSTs you linked, still, ¨Best Sountrack¨? Seriously?
>any Western game
Kill yourself.
I'm not arguing with you, though. Just reminding that you're a retatded pleb. ;^)
Wow you have some shit tastes. That soundtrack was utter trash.
>mario kart 8
my fellow black friend
...
Hollow Knight
>3D World
I don't. At least not on Zelda and FF, but there are too many zeldas and FF, so of course some are GOAT ost and some are not.
The good Zelda and FF OSTs blow out of the water most vidya soundtracks. Of course there are some that manage to get on their level.
Zelda has always had very memorable music it was good but I never thought it was GOAT material. Final Fantasy also has a lot of memorable tracks even after Uematsu. FFXIV also has probably some of the best boss battle tracks in an MMO ever.
Still has nothing on Falcom JDK.
LTTP does have one of the best soundtracks though. Havent played the other two.
>ctrl+f
>"silent hill"
>phrase not found
>not a single fucking mention
Proof that we truly live in a fucking horrific timeline.
What are other games that incorporate flamenco?
>OP is dumb. I do not believe he is baiting, just dumb and wants attention.
he says, while posting an anime picture
PSO OR BUST
and I listen to death metal for some reason this music can never hire me
youtu.be
It perfectly captures the futuristic feel and rush of speed in the game. Even though it came out in the 90s, Cold Storage's tracks are the most futuristic sounding music I've ever heard.
Don't forget Ep.3

Final Fantasy series actually has the best soundtrack overall.

david wise puts out some good shit
True or not, it doesn't take away from the fact that the soundtrack for FFVII is really amazing, I'll never find a soundtrack that I like better as a whole.
Babies first shitpost. Do you agree Sup Forums?
I never played shud I?
Can I hope for a future where pso music is mixed with heavy metal and alternative culturr and everyone will dress like futuristic 90s films?
Do you think leitmotifs are some kind of incredibly complex technique? Fucking virgin
Top
This is the
Well it's a totally different game, in that it's a card based tactics game. That and playing against AI isn't much fun. If you can play against people though then absolutely try it.
The real baby's first is Nier Automata, with infantile arguments like "it's the best because all of the tracks have layers to them bruh"
Psychonauts and some of Hotline Miami 2, since it featured various artists.
I think I will do it because I liked lost kingdoms
>Disliking Uematsu
Die.
X2's soundtrack sounded like shit. There's no hook or rhythm at all, just sounds bland.
Has nothing on EU's/EW's soundtrack.

do retro studios count?
if so then pretty much anything by them
What the fuck is this Hans Zimmer vomit?
Atleast post UFO's PSX OST, Christ.
>this whole thread was bait for collecting good western soundtracks
I'll contribute
youtu.be
>Michael McCann
>Hans Zimmer
How about you go kill yourself?
Zelda's music is constantly built around recurring melodies you mongoloid. Count all the times you hear bits Zelda and Ganondorf's themes mixed into another song. Undertale has amazing uses of leitmotifs, I'll give you that, but they aren't that complex in the first place.
Most Rayman games
My nigga
no metel gear rising yet this shit makes you wanna fight

I wish more games realized the potential of Big Band arrangements. Say what you want about 3D World as game, but its soundtrack is top notch.
youtube.com
More like a compiled list from a hipster hating on anything remotely popular.
>making arrangements requires more talent than composing unique melodies
this is what undercucks actually believe
Absolutely correct. Which is why it's the only vidya series that has non-stop sold out concerts all over the world.
impressive bait actually
David Wise and Grant Kirkhope are amazing. Old Rare Games have tons of great tracks, the new Donkey Kong games and Metroid Prime series developed by Retro sound great too.

leitmotif is interesting when it's subtle and not used in every fucking track to the point where there's like 10 original tracks and 50 lelmotif shit
Now that everything's out of the way and all's said and done, can we discuss the actual best soundtrack of all time?

Gurumin for me best OST. Read tho Falcom games have good ones, Probably should listen to some of their other game music too even if not play the other games. That first track is great at least.
Uninstall real life. That shit was as retarded as the weird ass interviews.
Falcom's Sound Team's always been top-tier.
The final dungeon theme in Sen 3 screams classic 90s JRPG
>that build-up to 0:51
>then 0:51 hits
youtube.com
Fuck, that Solstice theme is a tasty jam
Please tell me you're only pretending to be retarding. Zelda is full of leitmotifs and references to past themes.
