>Ahead of the publishing the game in China, Tencent have been helping tackle PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ cheating problem. The company has assisted Chinese authorities in the arrest of 120 people allegedly linked to underground cheat-making rings. >According to an article from Bloomberg, Tencent helped Chinese police discover 30 cases of people developing cheats to give PUBG players unfair advantages. The article also states that at time of writing, eight of the top ten leaderboard spaces are held by accounts who names are accounts on Tencent’s own QQ messaging server. >Messaging these accounts is one way for players to get their hands on cheat software. One developer was selling cheats for around $15, while another urged cheaters not to go overboard with the software, and to “keep your kills within 15 people per game.”
Should cheating in vidya literally be a jailable offense?
Fuck no. Cheating falls under freedom of speech. Of course commie fucks want to arrest cheaters.
Robert Perry
>commie Tencent is a multi billion dollar conglomerate. You cant be more capitalist than that.
Jayden Clark
No, but creating a shady buisness out of it is a solid maybe.
Jack Turner
China is literally communist, you fucking retard
Jaxon Torres
>Cheating falls under freedom of speech No. Cheating falls under fraud.
Josiah Perez
Yes >MUH FREEZE PEACH!!|!!!11\11\!|!!|!\|!!11\\1 This
Alexander Butler
>China is communist >the state owns the means of production, not the people What did he mean by this?
Jose Garcia
Nope. Should be up to the developers to implement anti-cheat. That being said, I have 300 hours in PUBG and have never personally encountered a cheater. I don't know how people are running into so many, every time I load up Battlefield 1 I run into a cheater but none for PUBG. Guess because just a lot more people are playing to notice it, also you might never run into the cheating player in PUBG while you will always run into everyone in BF1 multiple times because of respawns.
Logan Perry
How in the fuck is cheating against other human players a definition of free speech?
Ryder Sullivan
>China >bans kids from playing too much vidya >forces companies to release loot box drop rates >arrests cheaters
America killed vidya but China is saving it
Hunter Sanchez
>cheating >freedom of speech
Amerimutts continue misapplying their Constitution to something as stupid as video game cheating lmao
Jordan Cruz
Nice troll.
Ian Martinez
It's called fair use, you underage fucks. The same way a late night show can use movie clips in a comedy bit because it's transformative
Bentley Baker
...
Lucas Peterson
wtf but i was told the cheaters aren't chinese and that people were just being racist?????
Noah Peterson
By that retarded logic then rape also falls under free speech.
Matthew Smith
>cheating >fair
lmao
Cameron Richardson
>physically assaulting someone is the same as using a wall hack in a video game
You commies are retarded
Jeremiah Cook
Nice one m8, gave me a chuckle.
James Powell
>fair use >Hacking is all about winning a game unfairly
Jackson Foster
Explain to me how roids, a form of cheating, is not allowed then.
Jaxon Peterson
Don't you know that killing women in videogames counts as feminicide?
Blake Gomez
I'm taking a product I bought and own and adding a few lines of code to it. It's fair use, retard
Eli Sanchez
It's not a freedom of speech thing in the US, but it's also not such a pressing issue that it will ever become law. They look at video games like toys, it's like saying one kid getting a head start in a race against another kid is against the law. And I don't think it should have to be a law, don't make your online game riddled with holes.
Evan Hughes
>implying tencent isn’t the state this is why its a problem when disney owns everything sweetie.
Blake Fisher
When the player has excessive amounts of advantage and it's blasting the server that's know to be raping everyone.
Asher Lee
Roids are just plain illegal in some places, and where they are not you just get a contract violation. Not fucking arrested, government's are not Vidya corps private army.
Carson Green
Everyone can cheat. If you willingly don't use cheats, that's on you.
>comparing real life to a video game
Retard
Connor Evans
If cheating involves compromising the security of the game's servers, then yes, but 90% of cheating is modifying programs you run on hardware that is your own property. It's wrong to cheat and developers should work hard on anticheat software, but being in control of what programs you run on your computer shouldn't be criminalized.
Aiden Bailey
Read the EULA, fucktard. You don't own jack shit.
Bentley Thomas
But how is that free speech? Maybe it’s a case of imposing on the rights of a customer to use their property how they wish, but that has nothing to do with free speech. You are a literal retard.
Gabriel Morales
Griefing in Minecraft should be illegal as it is destruction of property. Downloading saves and playing with them should be illegal as it is piracy and theft. Calling people niggers in online play should be illegal as it constitutes as hate speech. You literally can't prove me wrong.
Grayson Sullivan
>EULA
They don't hold up in court you fucking retard
Sebastian Scott
China misapplied justice by arresting people for playing a video game.
Luke Reyes
>implying
Brandon Campbell
>Disney owning CPS or Social Services
Even if the culture could be manipulated over time to see these institutions as a positive aspect of society and a required element to it's func.... Holy shit. You're right...
Jaxson Cruz
No.
Cheating, or more specifically hacking, in a game is a breach of contract under the terms of service agreed to by both parties, and as such should only be a matter of civil law.
Hudson Howard
You're the kind of idiots I see around in forums asking why he was banned after using a hack.
Hilarious.
James Cooper
They only hold up if they follow the law. EULA's usually get btfo by courts because of the massive dickwaving contest the legal system is.
Blake Davis
>Should cheating in vidya literally be a jailable offense? it already is, this isn't limited to china. blizzard sue cheaters for copyright infringement
Charles Clark
Good, cheaters should be arrested. Next they should arrest and charge toxic players spamming hateful vitriol on chat and over the mic
Joshua Martin
>Everyone can cheat. If you willingly don't use cheats, that's on you. Do the cheats come installed into the game already and are free to use? Cool!
Ethan Carter
He's right to some degree, if you can argue context like some linguistic badasses do, you can do anything. Even free a man guilty of murder.
That's why being a lawyer is so cool, you're like a spirit, or god.
Nathan Lopez
Enjoy mysteriously not being able to play any of their games forever then. Assuming you win because they have pools and pools of lawyers and unlimited money, you have your limp dick
Andrew Adams
Getting sued isn't the same as being jailed you dumb fuck
Ryder Reyes
>Maybe it’s a case of imposing on the rights of a customer to use their property how they wish. >Property And that's the rub As mentioned, whenever you buy a game you're technically buying a license to play the game.
Then charge anyone who plays the game using techniques you dislike or deem unfair. I like your thinking user. Give me an inch, I'm going to take it a mile.
Brayden Kelly
And depending on HOW the cheats function, they might also be violating the CFAA.
Landon Cook
Does china even hand out fines? is that something their country is capable of doing? or do they only arrest people
Adrian White
It's great to know that a corrupt as fuck, company that is buying up American development studios, is also blowing the whistle on random players and having them thrown into China's torturous prisons because they were labeled as "cheaters", while Tencent can falsify evidence.
Call the company out on their bullshit? They just happen to have a video of your avatar jumping through walls. WoW! Great representation in court.
Xavier Garcia
They should also arrest people for being shit at video games or going against the meta.
Joshua Russell
>wtf but i was told the cheaters aren't chinese and that people were just being racist????? Brendan Greene, the creator told during the H3H3 podcast that 65% of all players were Chinese and that 95% of cheaters were Chinese. According to stats.
Noah Roberts
That's basically just the bribe system.
Andrew Ramirez
I hate cheaters, but having it be an arrestable offence seems like a bit much. It's just a game. We live in a strange world.
Nathan Hall
>he thinks chinese authorities give a fuck Oh man, i miss being this naive.
Adam Walker
Roids are health risk for the athlete.
Luke Howard
>national-socialist* There is a big difference, you are just under educated.
Robert Cruz
Why are you so angry? Cheaters are fucking scum and deserve no rights.
Isaiah Smith
He's right though, if people would like to take it that far, I'd like to see that behavior enforced as well. If the idea is to clean up the community, go all in.
Colton Foster
Communism in practice.
Michael Walker
He's not right, just some extremist who played too much Deus Ex and it's probably subscribed to 10 or more tinfoil conspiracy youtubers, cheaters are crossing a line which isn't thin at all when they decide to download something to modify a game to gain unfair advantage, the idea is having a fair playground.
Josiah Russell
>eurokeks have grown so anti american they will defend a communist hellhole
Oliver Parker
All cheaters should be shot on sight
Aiden Rivera
This.
Carson Brown
God I wish Sup Forums would finally fuck off
Juan Martin
Then we should arrest Jaywalkers as well. People who Lie should also go to prison. Anyone who cheats on their gf or wife. So many immoral criminal who aren't being punished.
Brayden Long
It's a lot harder to find them in pubg, imagine if someone is solely using a wallhack or autoheal bot, how would you know?
Personally I see cheaters every other time I play BF1 and in 500 hours of pubg ive seen around 10 or so people that 100% were cheating and probably 20+ that were highly suspect.
Elijah White
>Anyone who cheats on their gf or wife.
Why would this be considered a bad thing? Behead all adulterers
Asher White
Playes the game yesterday and ran into 2 cheaters in 3 games. There are a lot more of them now since the new crates are like a weeks salary in ching chong land.
Anthony Phillips
I would rather have Sup Forums fuck me in the ass every day than to have a cute communist scum girlfriend and i'm straight.
Joseph Clark
>Sup Forums in charge of reading Listen here, retards. it's not CHEATERS getting arrested, it's people DEVELOPING and SELLING them.
now piss off and report Sup Forumses
Luke Diaz
How do people want to cheat if there are no cheats?
Kevin Wilson
user, don't be a hypocrite. Read the last sentence in the OP.
Elijah Davis
As soon as real world material worth can be gained through playing it, there's certainly a strong case for it being policed.
If not, then it should be a simple banning/patching affair.
Chase Mitchell
>I would rather have Sup Forums fuck me in the ass every day Isn't that the average poster anyway? It's nothing but a circlejerk.
