Please tell me I’m not holding on for no reason. Please, it’s going to be 6 years. Is this ever going to get a proper sequel?

Nineteen more years to go, user.

l fucking hope so, but l doubt it

Getting to the point where i'm thinking of doing another 101% run

I still can't do Boss Rush on hard. Shit's impossible.

Hahahahahah no

Post lewd

user pls neither can i, used a feather on that one

that should have said, post lewd Viridis

Didn't it break a million copies sold? It'll happen sooner than the time between the GB and this one at least.

I'm genuinely curious why it never got a sequel. Does Sakurai even work on the Kirby games anymore? We seem to get like, two a year now.

I believe Air Ride was his last one

last numbers tracked were 1.27 million in 2014, not sure it's enough to justify a sequel especially as a hd version of uprising would probably cost quite a bit of money to make

I think it wrapped itself up pretty good. Not everything needs a sequel.

And then Sakurai puts sequel baits in Smash by making Dark Pit and Viridi work together, the uprising of the forces of nature is drawing near

Yet, Nintendo funded Bayonetta 2; a game from an IP with similar sales numbers.

Also TWEWY for switch apparently, but I don't know what were it numbers on DS.

Sakurai doesn't generally like sequels. He tends to get roped into the ones he does do through favors for friends.

It was a shit game with horrendous controls.

Viridi was helping Pittoo after he killed Amazon Pandora and lost his power of flight.

...

He only directed Dreamland 1, Adventure, Superstar, and Air Ride. Other than that he's only directed every SSB game and Kid Icarus: Uprising. He also did the game design for Meteos.

I hope he's working on something original though. I liked Kid Icarus: Uprising a lot, and it was disappointing to see him go back to directing Smash. They should just have Shinya Kumazaki direct the next Smash game.

>Kirby... We seem to get like, two a year now.

Shinya Kumazaki is in charge of those.

OP here. I know father Sakurai doesn’t like to do sequels, but at this point I’d take a port with updated controls. If a 11 year old DS game can get one, I don’t see why we can’t get one. No disrespect to TWEWY.

19 years left to go.

Neither can I, I'm also still missing several multiplayer only powers. Maybe one day, maybe.

>Updated controls
Why? WiiU is gone and anything the switch is capable of doing would be inferior.

>all the palutena or medusa porn that could have been if this game came out during the period of time where every single smutfag was drawing "thicc" porn

>horrendous controls

is uprising one of the best tps/action games of these past 10 years

l think it is, hugely underrated game

It's the only shooter I'm aware of this gen that didn't have it's design constrained by needing to accommodate a twin stick control scheme

t. Jim Sterling

It's a legitimate 10/10

if TWEWY can get a switch port, this certainly can

>TWEWY without the two screen thing
Nah I'm good

It had all of it's bases covered. No stone was left unturned. They even made sure that chapter 9's credits were guaranteed to be a surprise since there was zero marketing about the entire other 2/3rds of the game until after release.
>mfw I thought fake credits were a stinger
>mfw I thought wish seed was just a bonus chapter
>mfw thought Viridi was just a stinger introduction for the sequel
>mfw it just kept going and going
It blew my mind.

I can still feel the scars in the palms of my hands from the 3DS

Sounds like you were doing it profoundly wrong since I'm not even remotely sure how your palms would get involved

Oops, you’re right. That was my attempt at a bad joke. Regardless I just think the series as a whole would greatly benefit from some type of sequel on the switch. I believe it would give the series the, recognition I guess, it deserves. That’s just me though. It’s funny to me that a company with a shit ton of great properties only uses two.

My bad user I didn't catch your joke

I'd settle for a port to the switch, but goddamn there needs to be more games like this one

It's definitely one of my top top 3 games of the decade, nothing that's come out after it has really been able to have the memorable vibes of it.

Also I agree user Nintendo should utilize more of their IPs especially revitalizing old ones like Uprising did.

>he doesn't like to do sequels
>but asks for a port
why does everyone forget he hates those too? For him it's working on something new or fuck off, smash is just his pride taking over

The control scheme was too difficult for game journalists so Nintendo will never ever give us a sequel...or a remaster.

Why is this the only 3DS game of this caliber?
I feel like my next 4 favorites are all just good or really good.
I ended up liking my wiiu lot more of the two Nintendo platforms because it had less games but more great ones

Because it had scope
It subverted your expectations with yet another level, yet another arc of problems to fix just when you thought that this time was the last one, each time more and more enemies set against you. I really feel like it was one of the few games that kept setting its own bar higher

Last year was its 25th anniversary. I don't understand the complaint for it other than needless whining when HAL are in charge for it.

it's the only 3ds game that feels like a robust home console experience, l honestly think that had this game been released for a home console with less uncomfortable controls it'd have been hailed as a nintendo classic like oot or metroid prime
