RIP uBotnet - uTorrent Will Move to The Web Browser

RIP uBotnet

>“We’re also taking the opportunity here to actually clean up our client experience. So, from a product standpoint, the new revision of uTorrent is going to run in the user’s default browser. That’s just a nicer experience,” Cohen notes.

>By moving uTorrent to the browser it will be able to use modern widgets, and the developers will also integrate a greatly improved streaming experience, based on new technology.

>The new uTorrent will allow users to stream torrents directly from their browser, much like regular streaming sites. This is also reminiscent of BitTorrent’s own browser project, Maelstrom, which was quietly killed despite various positive reviews.

>Cohen just wants to tap into your browser, goy

kek

((((((((((Cohen))))))))))

>utorrent still have a userbase
for what purpose?

>2017
>not using qbittorrent or transmission
cmon now

>will also integrate a greatly improved streaming experience, based on new technology.
such as ads and spyware

What about Deluge

>hurr durr why are you using newer utorrent versions, they all suck past 2.2.1
>who cares if its 7 year old software it just werks
>CVEs? They don't affect me, besides only 2 RCE vulnerabilities have been found in 7 years that must mean it's secure
>hahaha qbitstalled

but can your client do THIS!?

wtf I love utorrent now

Why would I even want my client to do that when I can play it fully libre?

it's not libre it's stolen game design

And utorrent isn't stealing?

Normies don't know any better.

We finally win,Sup Forums?

yea we did with the inventor of bittorrent protocol back in power things will improve for utorrent.

>(((Cohen)))

It's not very good performing. A bit better than Tixati.

never once in five years for me nigga

>tfw use it all the time (actually using it as I type this)
>never have this "Stalled" meme problem

prob utorrent shills

>downloading Racebait: The Movie
Cuck.

>t. blackanon

So basically utorrent server?

good riddance

He's also getting the xvid copy. Kek.

>not using an old utorrent install that doesn't botnet

>2017
>xvid ac3
wat

underrated

anyone who uses uTorrent, even the old """" pre-botnet"""" versions is a retard. It's proprietary so there are obviously backdoors. They probably send everything you torrent to the RIAA and MPAA. Deluge/Transmission/Literally any open source client can do the same stuff, with more security.

>2017
>Qbittorrent STILL can't selectively download files
Into the trash it goes

That issue have been solved.
I've had it only twice, one when the public tracker was shut down, the other time when the private tracker black listed it.
>torrenting from browser
The day of reckoning have come.
A few years a go, some user posted about how everything will move to browser "experience"

Transmission got malware problems, it's slow and interface is shit. Deluge much better.

So you're telling me they're selling out?

No surprise, the ones that weren't shut down, had their content pulled, or sued settled for some flop deal like this. Aint the fellas from the Bay still on trial?

Net Neutrality is compromised.

> (You)
>That issue have been solved.
It literally have not

You mean this?
(This is just an example I already own the game)

It's still the best torrent client.

>Using a non-free torrent client in the current year

I have a pre-botnet uTorrent server in my linux machine.
Should I change to qbittorrent or transmission?
I also have transmission as it came with my distro.

...

Been using 3.1.2 for ages now and it just werks. No bloat, no ads, no noticeable botnet. Is there any non-meme reason to switch to anything else?

Holy shit, will other clients ever recover??

You suck

Get Out is a really good movie, user. Don't judge it till you've seen it.

>uTorrent newer than 2.2.1
>no ads
>he either pirated or paid for his torrent client

What absurd language is this? It looks like a worse version of Latin.

Greek.

I will keep using the program (:

>utorrent
>ADS ON YOUR FUCKING TORRENT CLIENT EVER
GET OUT REEEEEEEEEE

Transmission Remote GUI best.

it's the original ALPHABET. know your history, pleb.

Not that it matters on modern machines but I have super old pentium pro server that I use as seed box for rare torrent and utorrent will max out my connection while qbitt maxes out cpu.

uT is incredibly efficient piece of code.

>year of our lord 2017
>not using a torrent client with tui interface
>wasting resources for shit running in the background

the only two torrent clients you should be using are deluge and rtorrent

Tried to use qBittorrent and Deluge some time ago but they were overall bad, slow, or terrible UI. I hate the look of GTK.

So back to uT 2.2.1, other than the bad feeling of using old software, there's really nothing I need from an upgrade anyway.

What's bad about qbittorent specifically?

The look, not as lightweight as uT, couldn't download individual files, remember having trouble customizing folders and files the way I wanted (moving them after completion etc.) Anyway not worth the change.

>couldn't download individual files
yes you can

deluge is better than stalledtorrent

Shabbat Shalom Cohen!
Oy vey!
Such good news for the gentiles I mean gentlemen.
Look we're just moving it to the browser and if something goes wrong well you'll just have to blame the browser.
Some browsers (that give us money) will work better and you goys will act accordingly.
We'll have all sorts of widges and adins for bitcoin mining, don't worry.
