A guy doxxed me on Steam while just playing CSGO

A guy doxxed me on Steam while just playing CSGO.
I had no connections with social media / steam so how did he do it?
Don't even use any username connected and yet he was able to get an old address.

Other urls found in this thread:

vacbanned.com/
steamrep.com/
twitter.com/AnonBabble

Just an idea, but maybe steam = botnet? It seems to be the only valid idea for me.

git gud

The better question is, why were you playing CSGO Back in the first place?

steam has your username list public. So if you ever used an username connected to your name with that account, the guy could have found you trough that.

You can spam it 10 times so nobody can see it, though

Why did he do that? Did you 'camp snipe his base' or whatever it is you kids do to rage eachother.

look at your profile and fuck off back to or

there are websites which track that sort of stuff, quit being so naive

Like what? Do they crawl Steam and log everything? Seems kinda useless desu

yes? they track vac/game bans, game inventories, achievements (which can be used to track popularity of games which has some tangible value), etc

they don't even need to crawl anything, they can just cache results when someone looks you up

Give the name of one of these websites, please.

What is Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, StartPage search?

As I imagined, they don't exist. Stop making things up.

I'm not even the user you were talking to previously faglord.

Your ingame name, steam id and/or strea, friends as well as searching for either of these can expose your real information if you put it somewhere. Since he already found it out, it's somewhere publicly.

There used to a exploit early on in csgo's lifecycle that allowed you to get the IP's of people connected to the same server as you, but that has been fixed since 3+ years.

vacbanned.com/ ?
steamrep.com/ ?

websites were crawling profile information for years to track vac status before valve started keeping previous profile alias history, fucking mongoloid

Maybe you put your first and last name in the box that says (don't put your real name here)
You are playing CSGO after all, so there is no surprise

tfw your vac ban still follows you over 5 years later

Dosent it show in your profile forever?

Yeah a big badge of shame that ensures nobody will ever like you because you're scum.

With wireshark

I read that the red badge becomes invisible on your profile after 7 years, Valve made that small concession. Just two more years, user!

If you have your shit set to maximum privacy, no one can see your profile

You're a dumb nigger for buying so many games on steam.

fuck off back to Sup Forumseddit

no it hasnt

>so many games on steam
>201 games
Nigga I have 613 and many of my friends have much more than I do. If you weren't born in the 2000s and have been playing vidya since you were young shit just accumulates on your steam account.

Retards, yes it does. Some websites even show way beyond that.

still archived forever on dozens of third party websites

I haven't played CSGO in a while but remember there was a "premium" version of competitive matches where you have to put in your phone number
Maybe through that?

have you ever used your name as your steam name previously?

did you click on any links he sent in-game?

is your email name the same as your username. IE: [email protected]

It doesn't show anywhere. I doubt there'd be a leak used for something as small as this
Most likely an old username giving it away

Yo are playing Infinite Warfare. I don't think anyone would wanna be your friend.

Yeah it's mostly crusty old 45 year olds that get 1 kill per 20 deaths, literal children, and teenager cheaters

The only real answer ITT:
Valve has a shitty encryption on voice messages, you can buy an ip logger from hackforums for steam game

Games*

misread your comment i tho you meant the actual login username

Fuck off tripfag

tripcode where?

Let me translate >I haven't played CSGO ever but I happen to have watched linus meme tips mention CSGO prime today so I'll go pretend to be smart on some online forum and mention it huehue
also unironic tripfagging on an anonymous image board in 2017 also expecting to not be called out on it

@OP
If you really were so sure you have "no connections with social media" why don't you just post your steam here, I'll gladly show everyone where you fucked up and linked to rl info

Sort of like the "Pass User" badge?

Post your steam profile and I will DOX you faggot. Shit, I will do much worse than DOXXING you. Also I expect you to pay me $50 per hour for private detective services.

> didn't listen to linus' podcast today,

> I have around 900 hours in csgo but stopped playing around the time the prime update hit

>Wtf ure using le "name" field on this site and I'll complain about it even though it doesn't affect the quality of posts nor me in any way, but I don't like the feature that moot put in, and kamikaze-sama left in but I know better than them because I Kan Kode

wew lad

this
CS:GO is garbage like all Valve games.

Did you play some shitty custom server? They automatically download a fuckton of shit on your machine.

>moot put in
>implying moot had anything to do with creating the imageboard design
>implying implications can be implied

>wew lad
he mad

Contradicting the whole point of the site is kind of a shitpost in and of itself. Trip and namefags have pretty much been universally agreed upon as faggots throughout all time and history on Sup Forums.

He checked your friends list, found somebody with enough information to track their facebook. Checked their friends on facebook, found the faggot with the weeb profile pic.

>being this much of a faggot
Only games i ever need is an WoW

You must be the kind of person who proudly puts the stickers included with parts on his case to show off
Think of the name field as a test, you're basically planting a big idiot warning above each post you make here buddy

THIS THREAD PROVES THIS BOARD IS FULL OF FAGGOTS.
OP IS BEING A FAGGOT AND REQUESTING WAYS TO DOX SOMEONE

They ruined literally everything. They shit on the community with matchmaking, which led to a substantial decline in custom dedicated servers. They released built-in mod game modes, which caused a decline in the vast modding and mapping community. They ruined the game modes on top of it forcing CoD-esque spawning in DM, 15 player teams in casual, forcing anyone who wants smaller teams into a dead game mode. They fucked the gameplay somehow, despite having a solid formula that successfully spanned 15 years. Then they added RnG skin crates that cost 2 dollars to open, and all the skins are ricey shit, and nothing but skins instead of models and animations. And the netcode still sucks ass.

Why?

CS: GO skins are the stuff of legend, that's how disgusting they are. You can just search amazon for tacky halloween knives and get the same shit in real life for a buck. Hey, you can actually hold it with your own two hands.

The community has zero fucking taste. I wouldn't be so offended if the popular skins were slightly less ugly.

Well, Sup Forumsirgin, maybe if you linked your profile I could try to find out how he did it by doing the same thing. But since you're just asking "how did he hak me" absolutely nobody is going to know where your security flaw was.

This.

>I wouldn't be so offended if the popular skins were slightly less ugly.

Write them an email asking them to please add a trigger warning and stop liking what you don't like.

...

Yeah, yeah, it's easy to dismiss the problem that way. The issue is not that I'm offended but that these things exist. If you like them, please kill yourself.

Ummm maybe you should re-read your own argument and really think about just how it sounds...

You know back in the day CS:S skins were models with custom animations that were genuinely nice and produced with attention to detail and reasonably high quality. Even the gag skins were well done. Why Valve forbids this god only knows. I can only presume they're afraid of getting outclassed by amateurs, and that's coming from a Valve drone.

>Plays shittiest normie MMO ever
>calls other people a fag

If you were born before the 1980's they accumulate on CD spindles.

Not really

Even now steam doesn't have many games really worth putting time into.

If you have more than 30 games on your account it's safe to say you have low standards/shit taste in games.

If you want to play traditional CS and you're not complete shit you should just pay the 6 bucks a month for ESEA

>Infinite Warfare

more like 'infinitely shit'

Literal botnet bitcoin miner, I expected better from Sup Forums

WoW is shit but it's probably one of the best MMOs out there.

MMOs themselves are fucking garbage though.

So you got doxxed. Who cares?

What is the worst that is going to happen? Get some pizzas ordered to your house?

Doxxing isn't like it was back in the old days, if you post someones info on IRC or Sup Forums no one fucking cares because we are not your personal army.
