Are there any laptops with normal keyboard left on market?

I'm not sure user, I doubt it though. Laptops stopped being great 5 years ago when everyone jumped on the fucking tablet retard train. (fuck you MS)

>This is the best laptop ever made
That's not the VAIO Z Flip.

My brother in law has that piece of shit. It has too many problems to even list.

Really? Seems like an awesome laptop. With convertibles being the norm it's quite surprising how there are virtually no good ones anymore.

Yeah it sucks big dick. My cousin also has one and his does this thing where the touch screen just stops responding, and its a hardware problem. My brother in law had a bunch of problems with the hinge specifically on his, and hes the kind of guy that babies and is very careful with his tech

>Stats on par with a Thinkpad T420
>2017
How is this acceptable?
The only thing that changed are the Display and the Graphiccs Card

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEONE PLEASE START MAKING ULTRABOOKS WITH FULL SIZED ARROW KEYS

Does the T420 have 2560x1440 or what? Im kind of a fag in that the display is the main thing I care about in my laptops. I cannot deal with anything less than 1920x1080

>15"

If it's that slim with that CPU then it must have overheating issues. That GPU is shit tier, lowest acceptable GPU was GT650. I have a better asus from that peroid of time, was probably half the price anyway + my Asus didn't fall apart in half a year like most vaios do+the screen doesn't wobble.

>using intel

I've been using it every day for 6+ years senpai. It does get hot some times but never overheats, there is no screen wobble. Construction is excellent especially since I beat the piss out of it. Only thing that has broken is the little fan grate on the back but I epoxied it back just fine. It just werks

My IdeaPad g51 has a full keyboard, numpad and all.

>being a housefired AyyyyyyyMD shill

Don't you have your wifes bull to prep?

>is either a fucking 13" screenlet or a 17" DPIlet.

Your neckbeard would look better with a rope around it.

12" is the masterrace

Oh look, \lod\ is bleeding into Sup Forums again

I could buy Sony laptops but I wouldn't buy a laptop with a numpad.

>le funny increasing numbers and EXTREEM letters mean I'm better than you
the slot-loading disc drive is cool though, but you should still kys

Vaio literally went BANKRUPT for a reason, while Apple is literally the biggest company ever

>15"
Wow, that was hard. Also, VAIO didn't go bankrupt, Sony just got rid of it and it's company now.

>Radeon
>le 3 Memederbolt connectors
>$2,399.00
>macbook

proved wrong.

Those are complete garbage if you have to fix anything on it.

>literally can't use wifi and display output at the same time
Meanwhile there are videos showing how the VAIO Duo can output both its HDMI and VGA connectors streaming videos to each

MFW my 6 year old sony still easily keeps up with a brand new 2017 macbook and it cost less than half of the cuckbook when it was new back in 2011.

>inb4 lol poorfag cant afford a mac XD

I got a VAIO back around 2010, the build quality was shit and the thing died in about a year. VAIO definitely deserved to go under.
I've gone to MSI since and never looked back.

>VAIO definitely deserved to go under
It didn't go under though.

> still easily keeps up
Intel's fault for not improving CPU performance over those 6 years. The GPU is much faster than your old 650M though, by a lot.

>numpad on laptop

>he would rather have empty space on either side of the keyboard on his 15" laptop isntead of more functionality.

>he would rather have his keyboard beoff center from the screen

>he is a symmetry fag and thinks it makes a difference in functionality and ease of use.

It's got nothing to do with how it looks, it's that the screen either has to be off center so I can use the keyboard directly in front of me or the keyboard has to be off center so the screen can be directly in front of me. Either way, it's fucking ass.

At this point, the whole site is basically Sup Forums with the exception of Sup Forums, which is /leftypol/ an maybe Sup Forums, which is both.

>hurr this random laptop I bought 7 years ago is the best laptop ever made

Sometimes I wonder why the fuck some of you even bother posting

>I can't understand that posting this thread is a way of sparking discussion about the laptop market and what has changed, what hasn't, and why, as well as discussing other good laptops.

Sometimes I wonder why the fuck some of you even bother living.

Itt. Sony employees

Why would Sony give a shit about VAIO?

>OP posted about his sony laptop, therefore anyone that doenst immediately disown sony as a brand must be a sony employee.

eliminate yourself from the gene pool immediately

안녕하세요, 5 Won have been deposited in your account.

My mistake.
Itt. formerly Sony, VAIO employees.

Why would VAIO give a shit about a Sony laptop?

Well played

kek

What's the name of the laptop?

underrated keks

Sony Vaio S, 2011/2012 model

Best you can do with the T420 is a 1080p display mod.

...

>With convertibles being the norm it's quite surprising how there are virtually no good ones anymore.
Just because companies are pushing them as the norm that doesn't mean people actually like using them.

I never said anything about people liking them, I'm saying that way back when people didn't even know laptop convertibles existed, good ones existed, and now that they're all over there are virtually no (is there even one?) good ones.

I have a Sony VAIO Pro, the wireless range is atrocious. Other than that it is OK.

Got one of those for my mom back in 2012 and I'd consider It ok If It weren't for the fucking atrocious h2o bios which Is mac levels of dumbed down but on a bios of all things.

Also the dvd drive broke early on so I sticked the HDD the laptop came with In Its place and put an SSD where the HDD should go. In the process of doing that I discovered the fucking thing won't allow using the dvd drive's sata port to be used for the boot drive.

I found out about plebbit from Sup Forums, haven't used it since they baned me 5 years ago for being "racist" and "violating the terms of service"

how much is that?
is that display panel accurate?
how is the heat with that quad core processor?
I'm seriously considering those old sony or a modded t430 from 51nb

>synaptics trackpad
>macfags on suicide watch
Sup Forums says a lot of retarded things, but this takes the cake

Let me be real with you user, even though it pains me to say this.

I spent $469 dollars on an Acer 27" 2560x1440 144Hz monitor for my main PC. Yet somehow this 6 year old laptop panels color reproduction is 10x better. Honestly I was pretty assblasted about it at first, and then I realized that the Acer color was great, but the Sony panel was literally perfect. I even compared it to my 2015 15" retina macbook pro work laptop and it was as good if not better then the apple display (except resolution obviously), which are known for super high color accuracy.

Let me put it this way, I have never seen a laptop with better color accuracy than this. But I'm also not a graphic designer or anything like that so my eye isn't professional or anything.

This thing heats up under load, to the point where it was uncomfortable on my bare skin, but I rarely had it under full load for too long. I've never overheated it. Your biggest issue if you're gonna buy one is probably a battery thats been sitting around for too long is completely shot. I know mine now lasts for a max of 30 minutes on half brightness doing nothing but browing Sup Forums in chrome on linux on integrated graphics.

pic unrelated

If someone posts a link to a laptop that has a trackpad as good as a Macbook I'll buy it immediately.

I think you'll find the best laptop is the Dell Latitude E7440

I really wish AMD could open their eyes and make a laptop with ryzen CPU with thunderbolt and sell cheap docking station for us casual users.

Can AMD even make a Thunderbolt supporting motherboard? I know it's an Intel interface and iirc requires an Intel processor. Is it AMD simply not supporting Thunderbolt or Intel not allowing them to?

Sadly not.
It's something Apple and Intel owns.
XConnect is AMDs take on it, but it seems unlikely they will continue.
Problem is that we won't get any better cooling solutions for laptops.
I have currently a shitty laptop that runs a modest i7-2670qm along with the eGPU thing with expresscard and attached it to a GTX 750ti.
The CPU runs fairly cool, around max 70 degrees than normal 90 when using the gt540m

>freesync
>XConnect
>Zune

What do they all have in common? What do their direct competitors have in common? Figure it out and you'll understand what a market is and how it works.

A market will always shift towards one side, sure. But I am glad there is options, just a shame they're shitty options.

Buy a thinkpad or elitebook

>using optical media in current year
xD

>Ivy Bridge
>not a housefire

>Kepler shit
I'd rather just have Intel Integrated.

if you mean non-chiclet sager/clevo or other ODM shitware

what's the best processor you can put in that thing? I used one at an internship and I want to use one again

I have the same one.
Its pretty good! Nothing to complain about really.
Was pretty cheap too.

Alienware

I have an Envy M6 with a third gen i5 and 8gbs of ram and i would consider it faster than my desktop, just not in gpu power

Desktop is only a 4430 with 8gbs
