tehC is a good place for sneaky invites. the "best" invite forum right now is probably RED elite, though you don't *need* it.
BTN has a recruitment thread at tehC, but you need a 6 months old account. it's anyone's guess if that thread will be there 6 months from today. if they pull the thread, it'll likely be just short of 6 months from when they initially posted it
if you can backdoor your way into an AB invite, that's an excellent spot for invites. they are not recruiting anywhere right now, and you need to buddy up with a user. best advice i can give: rizon irc, hang out in weebchats related to Sup Forums. feign interest in 2d girls, and an invite might float your way

I, for one, have never been dealt with in an irrational way by tracker staff. I've had accounts that were inactive for 4 years be re-enabled and have had exceptions made for rules I've broken. They all seem pretty reasonable. I've even had an encounter with the guy everyone talks about and I still have my PTP account.
