You have the choice to not use Facebook. You can lie about your info if you want. You can even create a competitor to Facebook.

You cannot create a competitor ISP just to avoid being spied on, nor can you lie about who you are or what you do, nor should you have to.

I don't pay for Facebook. I pay huge money to my ISP. Fuck them for wanting more.

glad you found the real problem here

but thats wrong. they could already do that. they are just now required permissions

gg ez libcuck :^)

buy a cock box you cuckold

I have $100k worth of Comcast and Verizon stock so it's in my interests :^)

>boasting that you own a lot of one of the most volatile stocks

Wew lad.

Comcast is literally up 100% from it's 2013 level.

That growth rate will level off and allow opportunity for them to start doing money grabs which will ultimately fuck them, as it does every greedy media company.

This is why I don't touch blatantly shady companies like Comcast. All it takes is one bad press release about one of the countless things they probably do and you lose your ass.

Sure they will. I'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

Okay kid, 4 years sounds like a long time to you but when the stock tanks remember this conversation and don't say I didn't genuinely try to warn you.

>legally allowed to snoop on your traffic

Except they aren't legally allowed to do that. They just know what IP addresses you're connecting to. Also, this is how it's been since forever, has nothing to do with Trump. The regulation that was going to prevent them from selling said data never went into effect, and probably never was anyways going by the FCC's history.

lol, couldn't delete it fast enough, dumb fuck.

Don't forget
>demanding free peering from backbone providers even though they're the ones that need connections to other ISPs

they own NBC/Universal and are not owned by them. like it matters, they're an established monopoly and if you think their stock will tank you're retarded. Google and Apple are much bigger worries for something like that

Technology is not a viable long-term investment because it always changes.

But hey maybe you're glad you invested in AOL or Myspace.

what technical infrastructure for internet access did those two companies own and operate again?

>being this naive of an investor

Jesus Christ, just give me that money if you're going to throw it away.

THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT

...

NO U

"I'm a millennial and don't want to make my own competitor/alternative and want everything handed to me conveniently" - the post

"I'm almost 40 and am tired of corporations blatantly ripping me off and not even being considerate enough to put a local office within 10 miles of my house despite living in a metro area."

FTFY

Seriously, grow up with this shit. Stop apologizing for bullshit. If they want to fuck me then they should give me a discount on the bill, not nickel and dime me for equipment and every stupid little fee they can find, on top of the main fee, while taking cash on the back side too.

Internet access is a luxury. You need to decide if you will pay for access to that luxury.

Fuck off or provide an alternative.

>he doesn't know how to buy his own modem

What the fuck are you talking about?

I PAY them. A LOT of money. And then they want more money on the back side, without my permission, and without giving me any credit for it. And then they raise my bill every few months.

Can't, it's a combo unit for VOIP, and they won't allow third-party units because surprise, they want to scam you.

that's what you get for using voip you dumb fuck. you have a cell phone already

>I PAY them. A LOT of money. And then they want more money on the back side, without my permission, and without giving me any credit for it. And then they raise my bill every few months.

And you think a Japanese image board is the correct place to bring your complaints?

KYS you queermo, if I want a house phone then I'm going to have one. It's cheaper to bundle than to pay for a POT.

KYS.

>it's a "Sup Forumstards defend corporate economic ass-raping with a 'the weak should fear the strong' non-argument" episode

Internet access is a human right.

Seconded!

Who am I kidding, between the retarded libertarians on Sup Forums, and the pedophile-protecting Stallfags, and the Sup Forums leftovers that take up the slack, there's nobody here who wants to have a rational and reasonable conversation on corporate corruption.

Wow my fucking thoughts exactly.

>ISP double-dips and is legally allowed to snoop on your traffic, creating profiles to sell to advertisers
That's illegal here. Use HTTPS or a vpn.

>ISP triple-dips and commandeers DNS requests and abnormally sends back custom "page not found" websites full of ads and suggestions, which breaks the proper operation of failed DNS requests for some software
CryptDns, vpn.

>ISP wants to be able to quadruple-dip and create internet fast lanes so that they can charge companies money to put their services in the fast tier, the cost of which will then be passed on to the customers of those sites
That's illegal here. Sounds like a good opportunity for you. Create a vpn service on one of those fast lanes and sell more expensive packages to the clients. They will have the fastest connection for every site and you will make sweet shekels.

OH. You mean to tell me that you pay your ISP for a specific service? And that you're upset you can't get it for free? Really makes me think

this is the whole summary of every argument against the FCC right now

and it's fucking compelling. is it surprising that most people who voted for trump live in areas where you literally have none/one broadband choice?

that's pretty much the entire country you dumb fuck

Not him. It's not a luxury if you want a job and a life. That's my opinion btw. Luxury here is a legal definition. Not your or my opinion based on your and/or my ideology. If a court case sides on a ruling that implies the internet is not a luxury then it won't be considered one until the next court case overturns it. Don't lose any sleep over it. It takes a while to get it and then when you do there will be a new set of people to try to vote you off the planet. Just try to make do with what you have and make some friends and try get some shit together. You'll be just fine.

go to a public library

kek, another luxury.

>that's pretty much the entire country you dumb fuck

yeah everywhere where people actually live.

rural america has no choice and gets fucked harder

Mesh networks when

>Fuck off or provide an alternative.

I know, right? Investors are always looking for ventures into diffused markets with high up front costs.

>A step in the right direction is worthless because we've already taken too many steps in the wrong direction.
What kind of argument is this?

that is gold

one where the "right direction" ends in MUH FREE SHIT

>tfw you live in a first world country
The more I hear about the US, the more amazed I get
I didn't even know it was possible for such a wealthy country to be so backwards and underdeveloped

...

it's fine. these cheapskate weebs just don't wanna pony up for their VOIP services is all

>use more water
>pay more

>use more internet
>pay more
It's not hard, poorfags.

>use more internet
>pay more

I'd be perfectly happy to do this if the price per GB my ISP charged me didn't keep arbitrarily increasing.

i'd pay more for an isp that doesnt violate my privacy but there are none available

...

>internet
>privacy

Didn't happen before the legislation, won't happen now.

>what is scarcity

Have your (you)

What, you want me to post AT&T's TOS and my bills for the past three years?

show the increase that wasn't outlined in an introductory plan

>stop defending [sic] this imaginary scenario I just came up with REEEEEEE

If I have to choose between being a globalist traitor to the Jewish elite and being called an entitled nigger on the internet by their dogs, you can call me whatever shit you want.

Hillary lost bro

In the time I've been a subscriber they've rolled out and then tightened data caps. With a fixed bill this increases the cost of data. If it actually had anything to do with fairness in billing they would've cut the price of my service when they reduced my data ration.

Can't we start developing a wireless meshnet at this point? Each router can be a node that routes the traffic across the network. Similar to i2p but physically independant from ISPs.

I know that one ISP that promises not to do this is going to get subscribers like fuckin crazy.

>promises not to do this
>promises
kek

I can't believe DRUMPF is president. I'm literally shaking right now

Not an argument. I hate FUCKING NIGGERS but I am not going to trade my privacy rights with racial integrity. I demand both.

Seems to me you care her loss more. Literally the first reaction from Trump apologists is "Hillary lost hurr durr".

What emotion does he incite in you so you go to this extent to defend him? Say it if he's wrong or if he's a dumb reality show star. I would've called out on her stupidity too if Hillary won but she didn't. And I'm glad I didn't vote for her.

You were supposed to attach an image named (SHAREBLUE SAMPLE RENAME BEFORE POSTING) to your post. You are doing Trump posting wrong.

>Implying you'll pay a different ISP

Except they are legally allowed to do that and sell inferences they've made on your traffic with a proxy identifier for you.

Shills need to stop inhaling every telecom exec dick they find.

Try some bleach to wash that taste out of your mouth.

If telecoms would stop lobbying bills into place that all-but-criminalize competition in about half of America than you might have a point. But since they haven't stopped, I can only conclude you're a massive shill.

Then boycott or start your own army.

Enjoy.

>it's just 64th dimensional Scrabble, guies!

So these faggots are complaining about a law that hasn't even been implemented this whole time? God how pathetic can you get?

>He actually WANTS jewgle to have a monopoly on internet advertising which is what we had before obongo's FCC got BTFO by congress

Stupid goyim

>because cronyism exist at the local and county level that means we should enshrine it at the federal level!

Do you have any idea how retarded you sound?

Yeah it's pretty pathetic. I hope it's just a bunch of google shills desperately trying to protect their monopoly but sadly Sup Forums really is that stupid.

>promises
We've reached quintuple dipping lads...

Congrats on your higher internet bill for that comment!

>Blumpf
>conservative

lol wat?

NN was a solution looking for a problem. You want more government dick in your markets. You deserve everything you get.

I can't wait for ISP network expansion to basically stop from lack of incentive to invest in it.

>use more internet
The term use means that it can be used up, which it can't, you faggot.

I fucking hate the Comcast jews, they're the biggest pieces of shit out of all the ISPs.
I made some changes to my plan, and they told me it was going to be $120-130 (With all the fees and taxes), but it's literally fucking $145! They increase the pricing every few months. 1st world country my fucking ass.

>2k17
>not using obfuscated vpn

Do you cucks even know how the Internet works?
Companies with the capital have great expense up keeping the infrastructure.
Think about all the power delivery, batteries, wireless equipment, undersea and ground cables, government permits and regulations while doing construction, hiring qualified people, etc.

Then add on to this the fact that ISPs and backbone members CHARGE each other to connect to one another. Yes, assholes, I know this is the first time this has been made clear to you, but this is fact. Usually they charge for units of bandwidth and who knows how many other metrics.

So you think Internet use isn't scarce? Maybe yes, maybe no. But more importantly: bandwidth /IS/ a consumable.

I am my own ISP, feels pretty good.

>isps get deregulated
>try to fragment internet
>isps go bankrupt because nobody buys into their bullshit and competitors pick up the pieces

Why does anyone support net neutrality again? You're just maintaining the shitty monopoly of cockmast and whoreizon.

>.. CHARGE each other to connect to one another.

Only in third world countries and US, rest of us have internet exchanges with yearly memberships. Peering is done freely as per membership rules.

>vpn
>vpn
Hello there sir, it seems that you have gone over your 2000MB bandwith limit to PrivacyVPN. We've had to throttle the connection to PrivacyVPN because it was affecting the quality of service for our other users. Have you considered a power user plan? You'll get 3000MB extra for only $40 more.

>isps get deregulated
I'll wait for all those new ISPs to start popping up any day now.

>I'll wait for all those new ISPs
I hope you fins one with the most ""incompetent"" sissy to have lived, that will accidentally run dd every week or so.

not going to happen until govt no longer recognizes isps as a natural monopoly.

it will happen though, just look at other utilities like electric. they're getting deregulated and new firms are forming despite high barrier to entry

R6

You probably don't live in America eh?

It costs a cable company a couple of dollars a month in maintaince per internet subscriber. The monthly bill is almost entirely profit.
I'm not the most informed person but most of the problems that bother Sup Forums seem to come from the fact that companies need to increase their profits each year if they're public. It's not okay to just make 20 billion dollars like last year, they want 22 billion this year. So we see shit like headphone manufacturers gathering data, normies being sold $200 routers, games costing over $100 for all content, restricted repairs, planned obsolescence, etc.
I don't think there really is a solution though, there is no better system than capitalism that we know of yet.

>>>/global/rules/6
If you're going to do it, do it right.

>there is no better system than capitalism
transhumanism

sounds gay
