Antivirus that isn't shit?

Any virus scanners that don't try to force you into paying for something you don't need, don't run in the background, and don't give annoying popups? I just need something to scan the occasional program I download to be sure it isn't malware.
>inb4 common sense 2017
I generally don't download sketchy things but I like to check and make sure I'm safe.

MBAM

BK has the worst quality food of all fast food though

I like them better than mcdicks. Plus they mail me coupons frequently so their already cheap food becomes even cheaper.

Malwarebytes? I installed that but it kept popping shit up in the corner of my screen begging for me to subcribe to the full retail version. Also it automatically ran in the background all the time.

Their coupons are the only reason to go. Other than that their burgers are shit. Their fries are great and long chicken is too

ClamAV

Pointless observation. Depends entirely on the specific restaurant.
Dominos here for example serves literal trash but supposedly it's good. If it wasn't good it wouldn't be this succesful.

BK is to McD what pepsi is to cola. eternal 2nd place. pointless really.

i looked at ClamAV. it hasn't been updated in a year. next!

Lol nope. McDick is expensive as hell in my country and I didn't go there for like a year or so bc of muuuh quality justifies prices ngggh

>what is quick

>Pointless observation. Depends entirely on the specific restaurant.
What? It's a chain, the whole idea is they make the same food on an assembly line with predetermined ingredients

How do you fuck up a burger?

You, Sir, are clearly an idiot

Fuck you.

>not writing his own anitvirus
You deserve physical illness as well

>Getting viruses in 2017
Get a load of this guy over here

And AMD is to Nvidia

they're both selling literal trash to cucks but at least mcd did it first and with more success. BK is just mcd for fags. even the name is highly homosexual.

at least other fast food chains have their own thing going like taco bell for mexican stuff or kfc for niggers

basically yeah

shit employees

what did he mean by this?

I have to agree on both trash but McDo is just too expensive. Spending 20€ at least or else I'm still hungry when it's okay for like 12€ on BK. But yeah, both are a joke

AV are for retards, private or not

There is literally no legit reason to run antivirus on a modern OS.

eset nod 32

>virus scanners
>don't run in the background

nice comeback
sir you are an intellectual.

Burger King has bigger better burgers than McDonald's, the only thing they had an advantage over is the fries and personally they're both similar to me. I'd choose BK every time, I don't care which one is more successful
I'd choose chick fil a over both if it wasn't pricier

>I generally don't download sketchy things but I like to check and make sure I'm safe.
Except you're not miraculously safe by using antivirus. If anything, you become more careless because "what could go wrong, im safe"

common sense 2017 essentials edition

ClamWin is good bro

I just do value menu burgers. You won't break 10 dollars doing that unless you're buying 10, in which case you're spend well over 20 not doing it.
They might not taste great compared to other burgers, but if you want good food, why are yoou buying fast food?

>not using common sense 2018
get with the times grandpa

windows_defender or security essentials is the best and also use common sense [currrent_year]

If you just have to have an antivirus, get web root, they have some pretty easy to find coupons occasionally. Or if you don't care to pay just get their free trial and renew it every two weeks. It's one of the most non irritating and lightweight antivirus I've used

What's the point of using an antivirus if you're not going to let it run on the background? Anyway, have you tried Security Essentials/Windows Defender? It's very unobtrusive and just sits on the background quietly.

so I can manually scan fishy looking exe files on the rare occasion when I need to do that. it doesn't need to be running in the background 24/7 for that. ClamWin is looking like the best option so far but I'm reading that it has shit detection rates compared to other shitty botnet AVs like avira.

You can use an online scanner like jotti or virustotal if it's just 1 or 2 files.

>he is not a highly intelligent gentleman who is picky about quality and value

BK is way better than MD. Every MD gives me shits.

I download pirated video games that can be 50+ GB and have dozens of big executable files and dlls, so no.

So just turn the background setting off and only run it when you want to scan something...

Kaspersky and bitdefender catch the most last time I checked and rarely show false positives. F-Secure is good too.
It's not easy to find sites that do in depth reviews of them and that aren't clickbait. Anyoine know of any?
