I want that fucking mouse.

Two of those mice will make me cum.

stop whining you baby. alcantara is so easy to clean. literally all you have to do is get a mildly damp/moist cloth and wipe it down. good as new.

No

Nice fashion accessory, wintard.
Enjoy your fabric laptop. Do you buy a new one when the old one gets dirty?

Drop something hard on a soft cover. What happens? Cushion. Nothing.
Drop something hard on a harder metal like Aluminum. What happens? Dent, chip, scratch.

The covers are pretty resilient.

Fucking computer has a handle on it like a briefcase

>the most common thing to happen to a palm rest is objects falling on it
>not liquids or food while working and eating

You didn't even try did you? That's fucking hilarious. Not even you believe the bullshit you just posted.

Except the Alcantara covers have a polyurethane rubber-ish synthetic covering that makes them not quite fabric and not quite rubber. Spills will bubble and roll off same as they would aluminum.

You sound like someone who hasn't actually handled/used the new keyboards.

Have Panasonic CF31s at work, navy aviationfag here. My airframers ran one over with a 5 ton truck. Still worked. My ordnancemen threw one out of a plane, 30 feet off the deck. Still worked.

Nobody has. Your marketing manager tell you that these things actually ship units to people who aren't reviewers? Oh wow. Its fucking fashion accessory shit. Its unnecessary bullshit specifically put on to try and look pretty. Its dogshit. What's wrong with anodized aluminium, or even bare magnesium? You don't put fucking fabric on a wrist rest that will accumulate a shitload of oil and wear out any protective coating in 3 months of light use.

A dangerous idea, but can nukes be sexy?

Do people not remember that Alcantara was/is used in plenty of cars as upholstery? It goes as far back as the 90s, and it's held up very well. I had a Volvo with the material on the seats. It lasted years of abuse by myself, my dog, and my friends. Drinks were spilled, food dropped, and dirty paws set on the stuff. Getting in and out of the car several times a day for years on end. It's easy to clean, and it resists pealing and tearing pretty well.

Aluminum dents and scratches and will burnish or polish. Alcantara will wear over time. Just pick your poison.

>>Unironically picking the one single photo of a clearly sabotaged producted

Oh the irony. Yeah, human skin oil can corrode aluminum alloys. Ok, retard.

If you don't realize that that's what happens with constant abrasion from wrists on aluminum combined with sweat you're actually retarded. This isn't new.

It's not bad for a very portable mouse.

I would still be using a StarTAC if I could.

Yes, I'm sure we're all aware of this epidemic from all MacBooks from 2008. Oh, hold on, no. Actually we're not. Shouldn't we have seen an epidemic of old MacBook pros with ruined palmrests? Since 2008 they've sold over 50 million units. Where's the widespread coverage? Where's #palmrestgate

You don't even know where these pictures originate from or what even happened to them. You just tried to find a damaged Mac on google images. Is this your first week here? Did this low level trolling fly on your old forum?

>over 50 million units sold and pajeet finds 3 images on google of damaged palm rests

Get out, retard.

>falsely asserting that I claimed this was a majority issue for macbooks
>not understanding that the point that I was making was that even aluminum unibodies have issues and that you can't blindly assert otherwise
>failing to defend your assertion that regular use doesn't cause the anodized aluminum on macbooks to pit
>unironically thinking 1 picture of a (probably) sabotoged alcantara type cover makes alcantara shit after millions of units have been sold

Kill yourself.

selfie cam and lack of top/bottom symmetry totally ruins it for me. The back of the phone is cool but that face is absolutely disgusting

...

...

>>"falsely asserting that I claimed this was a majority issue for macbooks"
>>"failing to defend your assertion that regular use doesn't cause the anodized aluminum on macbooks to pit"

So you're saying that regular use of an Aluminium MacBook will cause the metal to corrode and at the same time you're claiming that you implied its NOT a majority issue. Next time, don't try to use words and sentence structures too advanced for you causing you to not even detect when you just fucking contradicted yourself in the same post.

Fucking troglodyte. Darwinism will take care of your worthless life soon, I don't even need to tell you to neck yourself.

...

>So you're saying that regular use of an Aluminium MacBook will cause the metal to corrode
It is a result of constant rubbing against the aluminum surface due to the chemical excretions of certain people.
>at the same time you're claiming that you implied its NOT a majority issue.
You clearly do not understand what's going on here.
>causing you to not even detect when you just fucking contradicted yourself in the same post.
Stating the cause of the effect does not mean that every single case will result in said effect. Some individuals have a body chemistry that will react to the aluminum and cause pitting.
You fail to realize that everyone not having this issue doesn't mean it still isn't an issue. Nobody has the same bodily makeup and some people's sweat is naturally more acidic than others.

Off yourself.

I've heard that it's unusable garbage.

the surface keyboard is supposed to be pretty nice tho, even if it is just the apple slim aluminum keyboard.

...

>good as new
Bull fucking shit

the fact that we're amazed that a product like this can survive 6 months without turning to garbage is a testament to the disposable society we live in

who the fuck picked that keycap font

Looks like shit fake plastic gold.

Alcantara absorbs oil and moisture. It will stink and it will stain. Eventually it will rot. Anybody that buys one of these things deserves to be mocked.

No it fucking doesn't. Anything you spill or rub on the alcantara will be wicked right off. The polyurethane coating along with the insanely tight "knitting" of the alcantara doesn't allow for that to happen.

t. Materials Engineer

do you even know what alcantara *is*? trick question because clearly you don't.

I'm not even going to waste time arguing with two clowns. Enjoy your disposable computer, girls. Don't say I didn't warn you.

never said it wasn't a disposable computer. you're just wrong about alcantara, so much so that you're not even willing to look up information on it.

What does that even mean? Everything consumer device is disposable. What even if your argument? You've failed to defend your (false) position on alcantara.

>samefag
Alcantara has been around for decades, dope. Pretending it's some exotic material because it just showed up in your marketing kit is why it is obvious you are a moron. It's cheap shit that most definitely stains and rots. Fuck off with your shilling.

>steel has been around for decades
>every application of steel is the same
>there have been no improvements in the material since its inception
Please do yourself a favor and neck yourself.

who's shilling? and for who? the japanese chemical company that makes the shit? what it boils down to is you're just straight up incorrect. it sucks being wrong, we've all been there. sorry bud.

Off yourselves, M$hills

>Posting from a phone and a desktop. That's a lot of trouble just to shill a piece of shit laptop. How's the weather in Mumbai?

got this mouse today. reminds me of dx:hr

But you're wrong though. It had been explained thoroughly that alcantara stains and soaks up oil and moisture. But I guess it's hard to convince someone when his supply of rupees depends on his not understanding.

False. I deploy surfaces at work and we are constantly buying new type covers because they get fucking disgusting. No thank you

Have the same, first thing I thought when I saw it.
Love it to bits.

it's a nice mouse but there are a couple issues with it:

1. the 120hz polling rate can make it feel a bit sluggish, and absolutely horrid for games (unless you're used to a low-end mouse, anyway). this is in large part due to bluetooth bandwidth, as i understand it

2. there's an issue with one of the mechanisms inside the first edition of the MX Master that made the switch between smooth scroll and ratchet fail, leaving the wheel always on smooth scroll. it's easily fixable but requires taking the thing apart and firmly pressing down on a plastic piece. not sure if they fixed that for the 2nd edition that just came out a number of weeks ago.

i wouldn't use it on my desktop rig because i game on that machine and can't stand the sluggishness from the low polling rate, but it's a great work and/or general productivity mouse.

I've had that mouse for about a year. couldn't be happier with it.

also this being one of the only full-sized bluetooth mice on the market and not one of those hand-cramping, carpal-tunnel-inducing tiny fucking "travel" mice gains it a lot of points in my book

>iFaggot
That figures

>Own Surface Pro 2
It's alright but the keyboards, both touch and type failed after two years of use each.
The damn thing did scratch itself due to the retarded power connector having the most overpowered magnet I've felt in a connector.
VaporMg is a meme and I think the newer models are still easy to scratch.

Yeah I totally believe this.

>iFaggot
>M$ shill
Make up your mind.

The Surface line didn't start getting good until the SP3

THINKK

Both. Even the staunchest M$ shill cretin wouldn't use the windows phone abomination.

Why wouldn't they use android user...

Cuz birds of a feather flock together obviously. Two shit ass tech dinosaurs sucking each other off.

The only type cover that has alcantara is the signature version (which I'm pretty sure has only been out for about a year). The rest of the type covers are some other material. Also the alcantara they used for the surface laptop has an extra protective coating that the signature type covers don't have, so it's not exactly the same material.

Either way I think people should stop bitching about it until it actually becomes an issue. So far I've only seen one example of a fucked up alcantara type cover. If the issue was wide spread the tech news sites would have jumped all over it. I've used the laptops a bit at my local MS store and I really like the alcantara, feels better than any other material I've had on a laptop palm rest (includes plastic, rubberized plastic, and aluminium).
