let's talk about fans, is there a better deal than pic related??

How much?

Better deal of what?

Best fans are still Nidec Servo's Gentle Typhoons

usually between 25 to 30 bucks for 5 fans.

>$20 for a fan
>need to order at least 100 pieces.

This in 2150 rpm + a good pwm fan controller

Eh, I get mine for free. Huge boxes of computer junk always have a few.

Nah, those are pretty good. PWM works well.

Just bought these about a week ago. $22.50 shipped on Amazon with prime.

I won't claim these are the best fans out there, but for the money you won't find anything better. Have them running at 900rpm and I can't even tell they're on. CPU fan it louder than all 5 combined.

I've used both F12 and F14 in my case. They're inadequate in tight spaces (probably low static pressure since they don't tell it) but great and pretty quiet otherwise.

Are ML-120s a meme?

>Corsair
Overpriced shit for gayman kiddies

Here's a honest opinion in contrast to I use a twin pack on a 240 mm radiator. They're noisy as FUCK at high RPM, but powerful. The wide RPM scale makes them pretty silent when less needed though. Because of that I'd use them against radiators and heat sinks, but not as standard case fans. There are way cheaper options for less demanding tasks.

They are literal shit. The motors make so much fucking noise no matter what RPM you run them at.

1/5th the price of a 140L fan with 20 year continuous operation guaranteed

I'm going to stick with Noctua purely because their customer service is amazing. I had to contact them yesterday and without any hesitation they are sending me a new cable.

Bottom line: yes.

They're basically mediocre, overpriced fans with an unclear distinction if it wants to be a static or airflow fan.

Because that's included in the ridiculous noctua pricetag. I can buy like 5 Arctic PWM fans for 1 poo fan. F12PWM are also reliable and have lasted me over 30k hours so far.

> PWM
Non-PWM are silent enough. Maybe chinkshit is a better deal, but those are at least predictable: start to rattle after a year of 24/7 work. So yeah, I have them.

Have 3 working for almost 3 years.
Pwm pst is not even that expensive compared to the normal version and it's always nice to have pwm imo.

T. Noctua representative

I have some non-pwm f12s on my testbench because they are quieter than my nf-f12s at 1500rpm. At low speed they are noisy af, I have one in my main rig at 500rpm, loudest part in the system.

I also bought ml120s just to try them out and they are louder than my sp120s per rpm while performing worse. Corsair are selling a cheaper fan for the same money because they thought nobody would notice. The sad part is that pretty much no one did

Nah, they're too noisy, I know they're good for their price but I'd rather just buy something more expensive that isn't going to rape my ears/give me PTSD in the long term. If you NEED five fans though, sure it's a steal.

F12 are the only temperature controlled fans around here. They are quiet at idle speeds.

these ones are pretty quiet and not that expensive

Best fan coming through.

>$15 for one fan

Five of those would cost more than my entire case.

What should I replace my stock fans with? There are quite loud.

This.
F12's are the best for the price but you get what you pay for. They are not bad fans by any means but there are better alternatives for which you will pay more.

Why won't nidec sell the gentle typhoons directly to consumers, why, fucking why. What's stopping them? Do they hate money or what?

Because they don't want to deal with the customer support headache that comes with selling directly to normies and autists. They pass that on to the OEMs.

Wait till Q3 for Noctua's clone

Because the rights are still partly in scythe's hand.
After murica it was just a matter of time till the rest of the world also starts the patent fuckery.

I have two of those in my current build. I have had no complaints so far.

These things will struggle to operate effectively in places with with obstructed air flow, such as behind a case front panel/door. Beware.

Are you joking? I only have two of them and they're very easy to hear at 900 rpm.

my nigger

Try to lubricate them first, if that doesn`t do anything, get some new ones.

I'm a fan of them

11 and the AP-14 @1400 rpm = same noise as Noctua @900 rpm

huehuehue

Just installed 2 more of these Monday. I have 5 in my R4.

>Be meme

What's that? I can't hear you over your loud fucking fans.

you certainly did faggot

The led ones are better

They make your pc faster

about to order a pack of these, they-d better be good op, or I'll rape you

Best fans coming through

...

nope

Are these really better than the Noctua fans? Thinking of replacing the DH15 with a smaller one and I'm hearing good things about the BeQuiet fans

You can still buy them on Taobao

anyone know of any 120mm-140mm fans that are quiet at low and max speeds? My be quiet SW2 are loud when i need them to push more air.

I have some questions about fans. I am currently using stock fans at the back and top of my case, and I have the fans for my x61 pushing air through the rad into the pc at the front of my CA-S340W-W2 . Is there a good brand I should use to upgrade the case fans? Is it a bad idea to knock it down to one case fan and add another water cooler for my 1080 ti? Am I retarded for pushing the rads air into the pc lol?

From what I've gathered, they're pretty good as long as they're plugged into a PWM header and not a 3 pin, otherwise the levitation won't completely work.

I have a couple of the 140's I'm using as case fans. As long as the RPM are low they are really quiet and push a decent amount of air. But get them going fast as they are loud as fuck. I might get another two pack to use against a rad but that would be it.

Dsp-tier retarded. You are preheating the air with however many watts of heat your rad is dispersing, even before it gets to your VRMs and other components that want cool, fresh air.

Got any proof that it even fucking matters? Your other components are still going to be hotter than the air that's coming in. As long as there's some airflow, then it will still cool down your PC regardless.

>23 bucks
>while noctuas are currenlty at 20
>gts come really barebones
>noctuas are always full of goodies.

mmm...

too bad I'm a not a chink...

My proof is thermodynamics dawg, instead of a theoretical 200 watts of heat getting dumped outside the case, you are keeping it inside the case ecosystem. I'm not claiming your gonna burn anything out, nor may it be particularly noticeable, but from an optimization standpoint you would be doing yourself a disservice having a radiator as the intake.

after a while you'll have hotspots on your case and overall temperature will increase because you arent exhausting as much air as possible.

>bitspic

Not an argument.

>Not an argument.
you are right, it's actually a fact.

Thanks for all the differing points. This stuff all considered I guess I should just look into upgrading the internal fans? I honestly only have space for two fans in this case now, and I was kinda thinking about replacing one with an x41 for my GPU.

Why am I not surprised you just simply can't agree that you're wrong about such a dumb topic as the placement of a radiator that you have to just brush away actual proof that is presented to you with namecalling and just resort to m-m-muh thermodynamics!

It's a fact you won't listen and you obviously don't know jack about thermodynamics.

Your layout is the correct way. Why are you considering changing it? Are your temps even bad?

nice opinion!

designed by poo in the loos

You still haven't provided proof that exhaust radiator is better than intake.

>bu-but muh car has the rad in the front!

He's wrong because he's mexican?

Well my cpu currently hits 80-85c in player unknown from time to time. The GPU obviously runs pretty warm but it avoids 80c so I guess it is ok.

you'll find people with noctua fans don't feel the need to shit on those without

Maybe you just need to reapply your thermal paste. Unless you have an overclock on your CPU...

I didn't OC but I may order some paste and just re apply some for the heck of it.

What are the best options for 140mm radiator fans that aren't Noctua, and how do they stack up to Noctua options?

I just want something quiet and I would assume having the fan levitate eliminates a huge amount of the noise when running at low speed/idle processor cooling

Appear to be a good deal with $30 for a twin pack to upgrade 240mm coolers

You already have shit in your case, it's POO IN YOUR CASE!

No Fan CR-95C (if your CPU's TDP is 95W or less)
t. 65 C in stress test, ~60C real world full load with FX-6300 (in a completely fanless PC)

>Fx 6300

I'm sorry

So what are some good fans for airflow?

Static pressure is good for radiators and heatsinks, or maybe on the front if you have a lot of hard drives.

But for moving air and exhausting it ?

This is the only good fan.

Which is?

>230V
Are you going to tear your PSU apart to get to the mains wires in order to power your fan or are you going to plug it in separately from the rest of the PC?

my PSU already has a connector for it

Those Arctic fans are fine. They're quiet until the bearing craps out and by then you can just buy new ones because they dirt cheap.

Personally I only use ball bearing fans though. is very easily recommendable, but my personal fav is pic related.

they pass it on to retailers not oems you fucktard

Why don't you just cut the middle man and put a gas turbine in your case.

why is your airflow backwards?

Fan hubs look similar to the GTs
