Madvr causes unnecessary GPU heating no matter how much I change the settings, and MPC looks like shit without it. It also crashed on my fairly often, even when keeping up to date.

I swapped to mpv and the only thing I miss is the GUI controls for things like subtitle tracks.

i5 3570k and HD 7970, my computer could handle it just fine. The crashing was probably unrelated to madvr, but happen multiple times with bigger/ higher bitrate files.
