In compute benches it's well past a Titan Xp. I'd put it down to unfinished driver stack if anything. Theres no way with a 50%~ clock speed boost that it's around the same as a Fury X in games.

Especially in AMDs case where all of their recent architectures are primarily workstation/server designs that can also game reasonably well.
I'm not sure you understand how much work goes into gaming card drivers to make them work well. Server cards can just cut all the crap and add features that, in turn, aren't in gaming GPUs because no company would cannibalize a lucrative market like that.
