RIP NN-shills. How does it feel to be on the wrong side of history?

For once I actually agree with Ted on something.

Based ted

Based el ratto

Is that a real tweet?

It sure is!

About as real as NN is

Mmm...butter!

ISPs tried shit during that time period like throttling p2p and vpn. FCC stopped them. In 2014 Verizon sued and won because FCC didn't have enough authority. Authority was then given to them via Title II, which is now repealed. I think you can pretty safely assume that ISPs are going to start trying shit again.

But no, keep buying into the revisionist narrative telecom's lobbyists have lined politician's pockets to shove down your throat.

It's strange because Ted Cruz was calling Net Neutrality Obamacare before. It's almost like he still doesn't knwo anything.

This is exactly true. FCC always regulated the internet in the spirit of net neutrality and told off ISPs repeatedly for decades until challenged in caught and then Title II, which is net neutrality as we know it today, was granted

redditears

Cut em off and boil em?

millions.

THE CONSTITUTION DAHNALD

I agree. In australia, most consumer rights are protected from corporate bullshit by the ACCC. Technically we don't have NN, but such consumer protections have stopped major ISP's from completely fucking over most internet users. Right now, Telecoms are giving out refunds because of the shitshow that was the Australian NBN, because of investigations conducted by consumer protection groups. Seppo's wont even see that eventuality if NN is repealed. Also, fuck you Telstra.

I am going to laugh my ass off when Tumblr gets shut down for simply financial reasons. And it's because of Marissa Mayer.

Agreed, but I just can’t wait for these Kremlin shills to realize that they just cucked themselves. The internet will be a better place without seppo shitposters.

Russia shilled in favor for NN though.

I remember when the internet didn't exist, life was much simpler and happier back then.

Funny how anti-NN shills never mention the lawsuit and the legal precedent that was set in 2014. Anyone saying it’ll be just like before 2015 is telling a flat lie by omission and people like Cruz know this. The amount of deliberately sowed confusion around this issue is unreal, and it’s amazing that they’ve managed to successfully frame this is an issue of “deregulate and let the free market take over” when the same big telecoms behind the repeal have been lobbying for increased regulations on the local level for decades.

Proof?

T...the image. Are you fucking blind?

Anyone else kinda hope the internet apocalypse the liberal media is shilling actually happens? I think my life would be better without the internet honestly.

LTE is just about fast enough to compete with landlines now. And cell companies are still common carriers. You will have options.

>using an image as proof
I need a citation, silly user

Besad grandpa uses logic to incinerate triggered snowflage as a bald flies in the sky and shits on his head.

Why are you such a weak-willed faggot that you need someone else to take your internet away for you? I hope you understand that nobody but yourself is going to be able to fix your underlying issues for you.

RT is an international news station funded by the Russian government. What more do you need?

My only issues are that I binge watch too much shit on the internet. My life is hunky dory otherwise.

>literally no tweets from Dec 14 on his account
wow, you really got 'em there shill

Then just stop doing that. The internet doesn’t need to be destroyed for everyone else just because you lack self control.

The internet is a cancer on society as a whole. It would be good for humanity if it didn't exist.

They'll be shut down without net neutrality. And Cruz knows it, and by not saying so, it's another lie of omission.

By Saturday next week, there will be no internet.

>By Saturday next week, there will be no internet.

okay

This, but unironically. Humans are meant to mingle within their small tribes, not communicate globally.

>using a picture that you got from the fucking internet, a picture that could’ve been edited

>putting a Verizon shill to head the FCC
So much for Trump wanting to drain the swamp...

>believe the Internet is bad
>still use it
>I_walked_into_a_thread_I_didnt_like_and_now_im_mad_how_could_this_be_happening_to_me.jpeg

Then why are you on it, hypocrite?
50 bucks says you weren’t even alive before the internet and have no idea what you’re even talking about and are just going off this vague romanticized notion of “the good old days” that you weren’t even around for

>i am a fucking braindead idiot that can't reverse image search
nice to know

I'm 30. I remember when my family got dial up and AOL on our fucking Gateway computer in 1998. Fuck off. The only thing the internet has been good for is exposing government corruption to the people.

wtf im a #CruzMissile now

We mention it all the time. Primarily because it reveals you to be a liar. The Verizon vs Netlix case was very informative and the fact that you are to stupid to understand this is telling.

I physically cannot read a politician's tweets without cringing.
I can't believe people actually make an account on this website to have this shit piped to their phones in real time.

>when Tumblr gets shut down
Tumblr is owned by Yahoo, Yahoo is owned by Verizon, they won't throttle their own websites, they'll throttle the competition, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, 4ch (this one will be completely blocked) and so on.

If you can't fix your life now, you won't fix it even if Internet dies, you'll only find another way to stay being a shit because that's what you're.

So if this legal precedent was set in 2014, why are you all losing your minds?

Because the propaganda machine told them to lose their minds, that their very lives are a stake here.

You know his pajeet relative with the mug press made that for him because Reese's are his favorite.

With all the fake news and hearsay flying around, I don't even know what NN is actually being edited/repealed. It's probably PIPA/SOPA/CISPA back from the dead all over again because they won't quit until they've locked down propeganda-free communication. Sup Forums is basically the last place for it anyway.

You guys know, at some point the people who come home from work and stream netflix/pandora during peak times until they hit the hay were gonna have to start paying for their relatively high bandwidth use. Normies take streaming for granted.

There's no wrong side of the story.
Only the story the normies swallow, but the whole thing ends being useful.

>le everything is on fire meme
I think we know where you came from and it is time to go back

i wish my landline internet had improved as much as my cellphone internet service had from 2010 to 2014. I've gone from decent 3g with maximum of 1gb (no more internet after that) to LTE 10gb (with unlimited 3g after that) for the same price. I can still only get 6 mps to my house because the local government protected monopoly wont build out my particular US neighborhood with the last mile of optical.

Oh but I still pay as much as people who can get 30mps.

I wish people would care as much or more about competition as they did about their notions of neutrality.

You know his pajeet relative with the mug press made that for him because Reese's are his favorite.

Y'all done circle jerking cause there ain't really an argument here and plus, agreeing with Ted Cruz of all people. Y'all real pathetic now.

What, that Verizon tried to throttle Netflix that led to Netflix establishing a site that told you YOUR REAL speed being given to you? Christ, you people are just living in an alternate reality. Fucking Verizon shills.

Or maybe I just don't trust Comcast or Verizon.

Hey, so, are you guys going to ignore how Title II states directly the government doesn't control the internet or are you going to keep eating Comcast dick? I'M GENUINELY curious here.

What a socialist thing to do to READ the fucking thing being repealed. But hey Ted Cuck Cruze tried to make a joke so let's all laugh about regulatory capture and inevitable plutocracy, haha.

>How does it feel to be on the wrong side of history?

not a burger desu but this really isn't some huge turning point in history this is literally a non issue that everyone is sperging out about

You deleted it, but it doesn't solve anything.

Guess what affects you, mate. Internet architecture is in America, you dumbass. Canada is already getting ready to prepare for the damage Ajit's doing.

Dear God.

Sorry, I bailed for the more alive thread.
Also my grammar was bad after I changed the wording without reading it through again.

That is what I figured though. Which is why I am so confused that it is even a talking point in the topic of net neutrality at all.

Verizon should have just throttled p2p and stream-abusers openly and not in hiding, then it probably would have went over better. People who use the internet for other sorts of browsing wouldn't have had a sense of humor about people shitting on the infrastructure designed for web browsing but now having to deal with users who seed threehundred teragigs of video while streaming music in one room and netflix in another.

I fucking hate this kind of overly dramatic shit. I'm not looking forward to the effects of NN repeal, but I'm hopeful it will result in something better in the long run. But holy shit do people like this just fuck up the whole conversation.

You have these crazy SJW liberals screaming about how minorities will die if the ISP charges extra for Netflix- and on the right you have crazy redneck conservatives screaming about how federal regulatory agencies doing their job of protecting public interest will put every business in the nation underwater.

I know this kind of shit is actually used as a disinfo tactic by financially motivated parties, but I also know there are a ton of people who actually think and operate like this. When did the ability to rationally think about shit go out the fucking window in favor of this overdramatic hysteria bullshit?

they did, but it didn't go over well, as p2p affected a lot of businesses as well at the time. Verizon had better luck going after Netflix and streaming services.

> How does it feel to be on the wrong side of history?
Go to Sup Forums.

I mean hey, Verizon might not have been able to get Netflix under control but Disney is going to kill it 100%. All hail the shitty timeline of corporations becoming sovereign nations.

If they paid for the bandwidth they are in their right to use it as they please.

Can't ruse the Cruz

Why are you supporting the Jews? I thought Sup Forums hated Jews.

Only thing I've heard is that Di$ney acquired Fox. Is Netfux apart of that?

Disney bought Fox and enough to technically own most of Hulu. They also now own Star and Sky, Europe and India's largest media providers. They supposedly are set to buy other studios soon.

Basically, Netflix is going to lose its main foundation, streaming content people originally subbed to watch, and relying on original content. Which while that original content is good, it actually puts them in the red. In essence, Netflix is stuck between ISPs intentionally trying to screw it over and companies like Disney taking their content away. Add on top of that rising license fees from Hollywood.

Netflix is doomed.

>knowing nothing about history
>What is Tier 1 regulation
>What is The Open Internet Order of 2010
>What is the FCC vs Verison case of 2014

Fucking typical (((ISP))) and (((TRUMP))) shills creating their own fantasy.

Also don't forget that Comcast also owns a portion of Hulu. Boy, I bet I can trust Comcast not to go out of its way to zero rate Hulu now that Title II is gone. But hey, having an unfair advantage is apparently free marketing according to Cuck Cruz.

Why are we pretending that Sup Forumstards are dumb? Its not that they're dumb. They don't care. This is just sports to them. They want to see libtards, which includes everything from actual conservatives to liberals to anybody that just wants politics to be in their own interests, mad. They know they're wrong and they'll shovel that in your face all day until you give them a reaction. OP is probably getting a raging hard on from this entire thread. Who the hell gives a shit about Cruz? He's definitely losing his senate seat in 2018. Who the hell gives a shit?

Keep the tears coming, lil baby

Case and point. He'll be happy I replied to him but this is in essence what we're dealing with. They spread misinformation cause its funny to them. At the end of the day they make up a small portion of the population. Alabama is proof of that. Their role in these threads is a small part and has no impact on the repeal going through courts or states suing the FCC.

But yeah, there's no way the repeal makes it through courts. ISPs already lost twice. Why the hell would they win the third time?

But goyim you aren't supposed to actually use resources you pay for or the infrastructure will collapse, just like you aren't supposed to use all the money in your bank accounts or the fractional schemes banks run would collapse
Be a good goy and don't use what you own

Because the amends made to stop that precedent from fucking already shit internet even more is gone and won't come back within at least 4 or even 8+ years

They can do whatever they want, just go back to stormfront. Bringing back Sup Forums and for that matter /r9k/ was a terrible idea.

This. All of this. Maybe it's happening because the baby-boomers in politics are now using tech to spread their shit into everything ever since Obama used MySpace and appeared on Wrestlemania. Maybe it was when Obama repealed the smith-mundt act, allowing the US gov't to dissiminate propeganda into the US again. Maybe it's just the increaing rampant behavioral health issues accumulating in society.

The only board with politics used to be /his/ and /news/. People used to watch sports to escape politics. Now it's the new advertising. We can't stop it, we can only become similarly numb to it.

Year(s) of logic should be required to get a diploma. Along with an amygdala screening for the emotionally unhinged.

If you already won then why are you screaming so much?

Hulu isn't doing well however. I know Star is very large and successful but I don't know about Sky. Netflix also has made some serious missteps with their curated content so their death cannot be completely blamed on Disney. Thanks for the reply.

Sup Forums doesn't hate the jews. Sup Forums believes in a dollar earned for a dollar worked which jews refuse to comply with and so Sup Forums rejects them. nupol basement dwellers hate group xyz. Plus, their religion specifically says the non-jew is to be exploited.

Facebook will gladly pay, Reddit will gladly do something like injecting Verizon ads/tracking on their site to make a deal, Hiro will give no fucks and wait until the site is unprofitable to sell it
Poojet is fine in comparison to the rest of Goldman Sachs that's his cabinet
It's a stepping stone to bring back those old shitfests, but now with muh MAGA and pede/kekistan support, which is good enough to make it seem like it isn't a complete government grab
>You guys know, at some point the people who come home from work and stream netflix/pandora during peak times until they hit the hay were gonna have to start paying for their relatively high bandwidth use. Normies take streaming for granted.
They already do, big ISP should cut down their datacaps and speed offerings if they can't provide them at the price they're selling

...

With modern CDNs this isn't true anymore

So when is the internet going to explode and we all literally die, Reddit?

How the fuck is Sup Forums so full of anti-NN retards? Has Sup Forums really taken over every fucking board?

Yes, but telecom didn't lay enough infrastructure for that and upgrading it would cost absurd time and money. They have a crisis brewing. Why do you think 5g is being pushed so hard? It's becoming the only feasible way IoT could work given that these autists want to give an IP address to everyone's gym socks and individual nose hairs.

We believe they should be transparent and just admit that the increased demand of high fidelity streaming can't be supported right now.

Stop talking to yourselves, redditfags. You're embarrasing yourselves. This is an image board, not a chatroom. Discuss the topic or lurk.

All I got from this whole thing is that american consumer internet will continue to be worst in the world.
Nothing of value was lost.
