I was planning on buying really cheap and old Intel CPUs for my server but the extreme loss of performance to patch the issues means I'll have to wait another 5 years for Ryzen to get cheap so that I can buy those instead
why is everything so fucking cruel, I desperately need a server and I'm not paying 400 dollars for a good Ryzen CPU
>Open case >Remove 2 kg of dust from the fans/radiators >???? >PROFIT!!
Jose Garcia
>400 dollars is u confused?
Jason Ross
you were going to buy something old and cheap but because of software patches you're worried it'll be too slow? so you have to wait another 5 years to buy something old and cheap then?
Henry Hill
that's still a lot of money, and i doubt supermicro boards support it, or ECC
Jason Gomez
I feel like he needs a mobo and RAM too.
Nolan Powell
>I'm not paying 400 dollars for a good Ryzen CPU
if you're destitute the last thing you need is a server
Jackson Hernandez
get a pre-2013 atom or amd or powerpc or sparc or arm
Bentley Barnes
tried it. the dam thing is so old and crappy i couldn't open it.
Connor Bennett
bull shit
listen to yourself too old and crappy you couldn't open it!? bitch please
Thomas Williams
>i couldn't open it What? I mean I understand you couldn't open it without the risk of breaking the case but since it's unusable anyway why give a shit? Tear that case off.
Blake Fisher
>well I don't know what to do. Kys
Nathaniel Thomas
Would you be interested in Intel pentinium 4 2 cores?
Isaiah Bailey
>The most affected systems are the ones with older cpu's >On older OS's
I might have the tinfoil hat a bit too tight, but I'm starting to think this is all a clever ruse to slow older parts down and get everyone to upgrade. I mean, even after this, normies would still buy Intel and M$ regardless.
