Yeah but it's not a song that would have ever come out in the 80s. Are only songs from '99 eligible or something? Any time there is a "best of the 90s" countdown on some mainstream tv station or radio station Smells Like Teen Spirit is rarely anything but number 1. There is a reason for this.
