Name one good rock album

Exactly

Compare
"UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH FEELINGS, UHHGGGGGGG, I GOT HURT BY MY GURL, UHGGGGGGGG"
with
"I'm ahead of my time, sometimes years out
So the powers that be won't let me get my ideas out
And that make me wanna get my advance out
And move to Oklahoma and just live at my aunt's house
Yeah, I romance the thought of leaving it all behind
Kanye step away from the lime
Light like when I was on the grind
In the 1-9-9-9
Before model chicks was bending over
Or dealerships asked me "Benz or Rover?"
Man, if I could just get one beat on Hova
We could get up off this cheap-ass sofa
What the summer of the Chi got to offer an eighteen-year-old?" - Kanye "Gone"
compare 5-8 teenagers in a garage learning how their instruments work until they find a nice guitar chord and a decent hook
with
producers being perfectionist about how a high hat sounds, masterfully using a sampler and drum machine, and creating original melodies and chords, presenting this instrumental to the rapper who then proceeds to write a poem about his past hardships/experiences in less than 12 minutes, oh yeah and then gets sent to be mixed and mastered.

rock has more accomplished works so far. the amount of worthwhile subgenres under the category of rock is spectacular. hip hop has potential though. mostly when its used as a voice of the oppressed breaking free instead of further oppressing your own culture through the celebration of stereotype

kek want some cherries user?

>cherrypicking
also producers being perfectionists inhibits hip hop in a way. sterilizing music eliminates soul. blemishes are human, perfecting how a hi hat sounds makes it sound like every other stuttering hi hat on the radio

Halcyon Digest

This. Rap can be art, it can be great. But it's "nigga this", "nigga that", "big booty", "I'm da greatest". Collectively, people look at rap as ignorant, narcissistic, or both. Rap has power, only if popular artist stop being shallow.

stuttering hi hats you here are mostly trap with southern roots
I remember I heard then in one of juicy j's songs back in 2003
I still have no fucking idea how they did that with analog equipment

Hip-hop has more accomplished works so far. the amount of worthwhile subgenres under the category of Hip-hop is spectacular. Rock has potential though. mostly when its used as a voice of the oppressed breaking free instead of further appealing to the mainstream through the sorror of relationship breakups

>AHHH FRANKIE SINATRA

drake is hip hop user

alright alright, you got me
now before people start blaming the whole genre and it's fans along with their aunties, yes
it was bait

popular music from every time period was shallow, including when rock was popular.

underrated

I think this song is mostly about how desire, and the subsequent fulfillment of that desire, can just make you desire more. "When you were young, and your excitement showed, but as time goes by,does it outgrow. Is that the way things go? Forever reaching for the goal"

It's a cycle (desire lines), that he wants to free you from: "walking free, come with me" It sounds very similar to Buddhist philosophy.

Are you foreign user? , the word "good " Is used in a positive manner . Try a naming a GOOD album

i thought it was pretty obvious, but some people have trouble detecting tricks, please do not try to fool like that again friendo

did you forget He's white user? Nice try though

>Be rap
>Be spawned from disco
>Remember that disco sucks
>tfw

lmao i loved reading that

>rap
>spawned from disco

>be white
>see minorities walking down the same street
>cross the street while looking down on your phone

White, not even once

>be rock
>be spawned from blues
>is descended from african tribal music
>remember your white supremacy
>tfw

...

Rock is music whereas rap is not so rock.

Yes, but rap is still being shallow. It's 3 decades after rap was spawned, and they are people still look at it as ignorant feces. Rock came about in the 50's. By the 90's, rock had spawned a fucking million subgenres with a multitude of differing subject matter, and rock had become lyrically philosophical as early as the 1960's. Yeah.

>post-african beats
>music

I want 9gag to leave

you seem to think there is only one type of rap

Rock started with Rocket 88 in 1952 and had masterpieces in the 60s if not the late 50s.

Rap started with The Revolution Will Not Be Televised in 1972 and is yet to have a true masterpiece.

DUN GOOFD

>be african tribal music
>be spawned from cavemen from who the fuck knows where banging rocks together and grunting
>remember your neanderthal supremacy
>tfw

No, I'm saying rock has matured and diversified faster than rap has.

Shallow rock songs didn't die out in the 60's user and there is tons of rap that isn't shallow

Yes, but rock is still being shallow. It's 3 decades after rock was spawned, and they are people still look at it as ignorant feces (sex &drugs). Rap came about in the 90's. By the 2010's, rap had spawned a fucking million subgenres with a multitude of differing subject matter, and rock had become lyrically philosophical as early as the 2000's. Yeah.

wait what rock masterpiece is there in the 50s? just genuinely curious, chuck berry? little richard?

Yep, but today, most popular rap is still looked at as extremely shallow.

hey who knows
caveman probably made some fire ass songs
ME TAKE YOU CLOTHES
ME TAKE YOU ROCK
ME TAKE YOU SHINY,
ME TAKE YOU HOES!

My dad is better than your dad

>sees another running joke post in thread
>tries to be funny and ironic
>writes incomprehensible post

By morons like you maybe

Add a beat and a few more hooks, and you've got some nig nog rap music there, fella.

it's all about meme singles

Halcyon Digest

DMX- ITS DARK AND HELL IS HOT

Dude, the general public isn't aware of the rap scene. They don't give a fuck. They just hear about ignorant fucks like Kanye or Wiz Khalifa and think "Wow, I can't believe people like this shit." And boom, the genre is generalized. Rock has been respected by most people for a long time.

Good Kid Maad City

>MY BAND IS BETTTER THAN YOUR BAND
>WE GOT MORE SONGS THAN A SONG CONVENTION

I know you're underage user but Jesus please try to hide it a little better

that's good, but that's an EP. an album should be 2 hours long with 10+ minute tracks

>can't argue for genre
>tries to attack unrelated subject
>failure.jpeg

Read your post and tell me with a straight face that was not a shitpost

Good Kid Maad City

I don't know, that's why I said "if not."

I'm not informed enough to know. I think Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, and Fats Domino all have compilations of solid tracks though.

What it means is I was right, and it's irrefutible, and so you're a small enough person to attack me personally rather than step away from the arguement.

>
>wait what rock masterpiece is there in the 50s? just genuinely curious,

...

I just like to add racial slurs for comedic leverage is all.
