i don't think RAM was very highly regarded amongst most of the people who listened to daft punk previously. it was essentially dp's audio video disco

Are you serious? Mutilated Lips, Its Gonna Be Alright, and Johnny On the Spot. Those 3 songs alone make that album, possibly, their best.

you are only listening on the surface. this is one of the most textured albums ever recorded.

too bad that's destroyed by the reprehensible amount of compression and total lack of dynamic range.

It was similar be different, just like all their other stuff. Touch, Contact and Instant Crush were great.
