started the cure with this album since its their most popular. according to my music player, ive listened to the whole album at least 10 times in the past year.
I like it, but I find it really long with some filler.
Cure has a big discography so can you point me in the right direction?
my top 3 of disintegration
1. Lullaby - cant get enough of this 2. Fasincation Street - bass is killer 3. Lovesong - another great poppier song
Pornography and faith are their best albums. Pornography is sparse, violent and dark. Faith is sparse, dreamy and dark.
Charles Powell
Pornography, Faith and Seventeen Seconds
Hunter Reyes
Depends on your taste. They have an album of expended plays that is pretty good. My personal favorite as an album is bloodflowers. Basically what would happen if the cure made a shoegaze album.
Joseph Brown
Straight down into the depths of hell. (Aka pornography)
is bloodflowers and faith worth listening to?
Chase Stewart
well I guess I like the more pop songs. I read Pornography was a dark album. Are you sure this is the one for me or is it just 'their best'.
Grayson Brown
Next to Disintegration, Wish has always been my favorite. In fact, at one point I just took my favorite songs off Disint and Wish and just made an album out of it that I go to when I feel the need to listen to just chill and get lost in the music.
Lucas Carter
everyone has to listen to Pornography at least once in their life
Zachary Wilson
Head on the Door is a great pop album, Kiss Me... is HOTD extended
Grayson Green
If you're going for poppy, then try the head on the door. That isn't to say, however, that bloodflowers isn't your typical poppy cure in its own right. The songs watching me fall and 39 from the are some of their catchiest songs they ever made. In a very good way.
Joshua Price
Its filler to rockists, but atmosphere to goths and people who appreciate slow music.
Nolan Morales
I will. I just want you guys to recommend me something similar to those 3 songs I love.
Alright thanks.
Thanks.
Yes I like making playlists as well but since I am new to the band I am hoping for something like an album of material I would really enjoy.
Hudson Howard
Based on those three songs, I'd argue you might like Seventeen Seconds best actually. It's very bass driven with the same type of atmosphere as those.
Jordan Taylor
Thanks I am going to listen to that and Head on the Door via Spotify.
It does have the atmosphere I give it that. I don't consider myself a "rockist" i love all kinds of music.
Btw, From The Edge of the Deep Green Sea is their best song, hands down.
Blake Robinson
Thanks for the link.
Just gave that one a listen. Good song, better than some off Disintegration. I still prefer the 3 I listed much more, but obviously first time I heard it. The others clicked right away.
Sebastian Cruz
Listen to their Japanese Whispers ep. Addicting pop no filler.
Leo Green
Yes although Bloodflowers isn't as immediately satisfying
Carson Torres
never heard of this one or it ever recommended. I will check it thanks!
Blake Carter
My personal favorite is Faith, but I'm not sure if everyone likes it. It's very slow and dreamy (it has kind of a Twin Peaks vibe).
Easton Cooper
I love Twin Peaks, especially the soundtrack! Thanks I will check this one too.
Kayden Bennett
joy division. Wow unknown pleasures maybe the most overrated record I have ever heard and I have heard A LOT of albums. The music on this album is forgettable. I love the cover though.
Now "Closer" that is a better album? A classic? No still some weaker songs. The second half though is 10x better than anything off Unknown Pleasures. The song "Decades" is a masterpiece, I will give it that.
Carson Lee
The funeral party sounds identical to the twin peaks theme
Just get their greatest hits compilations if you're going to be like that.
Disintegration, Bloodflowers, and Pornography are their best whole albums.
Oliver Foster
Ok thanks will do.
Benjamin Reed
were you talking me to, the OP?
I listed my 3 favorite songs off Disintegration. I was asking for an album closest to that. Not a greatest hits compilation. I am looking to be guided to another great Cure album!
Jackson Torres
What did you think about it?
Evan Bennett
I havent listened to it yet. I will tomorrow though!
