Your chart seems very sincere and I enjoy every album I've heard from it. Do you like Akron/Family?
>nujabes
Was never a fan. I don't like the rappers on his tracks. If I had a bunch of instrumentals to listen to it'd be great.
JJ Cale - Naturally

Listen to some Woody Guthrie, if that ain't yer style try out Woody's son, Arlo Guthrie. Arlo's voice is truly something awful at times but you already listen to Dylan.

Houdini is one of very few albums i have a physical copy of
not because i really love it but i saw a show at a record store and felt like buying something afterwards
Ye it was my fav ambient album for about a week a while back. Wish I knew more on your chart but ++on Grouper, Stars of The Lid, and Duster.
>he doesnt own physical copies of most of his favorite albums
O_o
lol
Understandable, maybe try Neu! '75 or Whenever, if Ever- The World is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid To Die. I really love the JJ Cale record so far by the way, thanks a ton for that.
I'll take that as a compliment :)
I do dig Dylan! I like unique voices and compared to Chance, his is pretty digestable.
I looked at the Guthrie's and prefer Arlo's more modern touch even though his voice is not as rough as Woody's.Would Hobo's Lullaby be a good starting point for Arlo?
...
of the albums on my chart i only own Tortoise
MP3 players were the start of my interest in finding more music, so i never took an interest in finding physical copies of things
mtwitchw?
thanks for the rec either way

maybe
i actually purchased Tortoise with Houdini, found them both that night
saw Sunburned Hand of the Man there, was a good night
if i happen to be at a record store again and spot a CD copy of another favorite maybe i'll buy it
also i did pre-order that limited Unwound box set from Numero Group, but that has a lot of artwork and writing to go along with it so it was more than just the CDs
what's the difference between the star colors? vinyl / cd?
past month or so. i'd participate but i have 2 finals tomorrow :[[[
yeah i picked up one of the box sets on vinyl the book that comes with it is really cool
and yeah its vinyl and cd. i should have given future of what another star since i just realized that i do own it on vinyl technically
what did he mean by this
also another good thing about physical media is you can corner your favorite artists after shows and ask them to sign stuff
i definitely don't plan on getting into vinyl, aside from the sleeves with the larger art i don't see the point
ooh i didn't think about that
only signed thing i have is a yerself is steam cassette from a mercury rev show
they were pre-signed though, it was 5 dollars at the show and you could order them online for a bit more i think
Journey in Satchidananda is one of the most beautiful things ive ever listened to
records are good objects and feel even better to hold and play than CDs
though when i buy LPs anymore i only aim for originals. if you know where to find them you can get for way less than theyre worth so in that respect theyre good investment. and its cool owning a piece of music history too i suppose
i guess the thing for me is not wanting to invest time or money into buying and maintaining a record player
with CDs i can at least rip a high-quality copy of the album to listen to / share if people need it
i guess i can see what you mean about them being a good investment if you buy right though. can't speak to them feeling better to hold since i have actually never come in physical contact with one
The Jellyfish album is Gowns - Red State, it's droney, depressive, slow-core. The sky/building album is Thanksgiving's self titled triple LP
Yeah, that's Numberwang!
If you like their s/t you'd probably dig Set 'Em Wild, Set 'Em Free. Thanks for the rec, desu I'm more likely to listen to singular recs than some monolithic list (I do appreciate those too tho)
this is the first rec ive cared enough to try and download in well over a year congrats user
to be fair its also the first rec ive actually searched in over a year as well probably
have you listened to the deep

Then again, both those albums are fucking massive if I remember correctly so probably just need more time to digest
